Dr. Rick is simply the best vet I have ever met. He is compassionate, knowledgeable and supportive. I would drive 2 hours to see him. My daughter brings her dogs to Dr. Rick from Redwood City. The staff is very good. The highest rating for South County Animal Hospital.

We have been bringing our fur babies to South County Animal Hospital for many years. They are the only place we trust to take our "kids" to. The entire staff is very friendly & compassionate to our needs. They always go above & beyond to accommodate us. Dr. Rick & Dr. Dani are the best! They are so knowledgeable & always take the time to explain everything so we fully understand. I would never take my babies to any other office. Thank you South County Animal Hospital for always being there taking extra special care of our babies.

What made this visit so special was that Dr. Rick took the time to allow the children to listen to Penelope's heart and quizzed them on various heart rates. Now they know that an elephant's heart beats 6 times a minute. He also allowed them to look at the microscope showing the cells from the tumor. Best of all, Penelope is ok!! Thank you for always making these visits like seeing family!

My pet had possible collapse trachea. I left message on Sunday. The staff called back 8am Monday. My dog was seen by 920am on same day. They were very quick to accommodate my dog. Dr. Rick explained things well and took care of my dog. I put all my trust in South County Hospital.

Rick and Michelle have been taking care of the family pets for YEARS. It's finally my turn! I always appreciate their kindness and honesty when it comes to the health and wellbeing of our pets. They understand that our pets are family. Dr. Michelle is the primary vet for my puppy, Ranger. I appreciate all of her knowledge on the breed as well as care tips since he's my first dachshund! The waiting room is small, with a side for dogs and a side for cats. The rooms are equipped with standard equipment and are always clean and tidy. The techs and front desk employees are always kind and helpful with all paperwork and information. Ranger went in for a round of shots and Dr. Michelle answered all of my questions. She even had a vet tech teach me how to clip his nails (I had worried and she gave me a whole tutorial)! I truly have full faith in the team at South County Animal Hospital. It's a long drive (no longer live in my home town) but I still drive the 40 minutes because they're worth it. Thank you so much for all your love and care for our furry friends!

The lack of convenience for those of us that work M-F is really not good customer service. For some of us pet parents, Saturday appointments are vital to the care of our pets. This office (normally) has 4 vets employed there. A rotating Saturday work schedule is really not too much to ask. Or be open every other Saturday? My one dog is too heavy for me to load in the car by myself. My own problem? Yes. However, the services and care that should be provided should be more customer friendly. And after the recommendation of waiting to pursue my dogs terrible lab #'s til AFTER a teeth cleaning ($$) resulted in the death of our deeply loved dog. Dr. Dani is very caring however so if you go to South County, ask for her.

Dr. Rick is AMAZING! I have been blessed to have him care for all of my dogs the last 15 years! He is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and communicates clearly. I have complete trust in him! My Georgia girl loves him, too!
