They closed at 11 and I arrived at 1130. They have a night bell which I rang.... a lot!! I had to book another hotel across the street! The next day I went to the desk and Garrett stated he left me a VM. Won't be staying at a Best Western again! I'm at hotels Monday through Friday and this was the worst customer service ever. I'm in Curacao but when I get back I'll be writing the BBB.Rooms: Rooms are oldWalkability: It's in a good spot for walking to the rock and restaurantsNoteworthy details: Don't get there after 11!! If you do, check your Vm as they leave a key under their mat!

Horribly thin walls make you feel like you're sharing a room with your neighbors. I was booked for three nights and left a day earlier because it was so unbearable. Rude and condescending staff with awful customer service.

Came up to Morro Bay for a work trip. Last minute we switched hotels to the Best Western and Garret was more than helpful to accept the state rate and two rooms. What a great staff. I would highly recommend. Garret should be promoted to manager!!

Staff was super nice and breakfast is ok but there were mysterious stains on the the sheets, the chairs, and the toilet that kind of grossed me out… also found either dog fur or someone else’s short white hair in the bed… there was also a car alarm in the parking lot that went off for a pretty long time in the middle of the night

Getting expensive. Still a budget value. I would give this 3.5 stars. New ownership. Shame, because we loved the old owners, and we knew the past 2 owners going back 15 years or so. Some time in the past year, they renovated the rooms again. We are not fans of much of the renovations. Manufactured hardwood floors, good. Shutters (that don't keep light out). Closets are gone (too bad). Wall pegs and 2 hangars instead. Smallest bathroom I have ever seen in my life. Bath sink is so small it only serves the purpose of giving water. No room to put anything on this sink. The A/C is new, and functional, however it is very loud. All the new stuff was in disrepair, however they do have someone doing maintenance on site who was there our entire stay. I mentioned it, but somehow it was taken as a complaint. Note: This hotel lies right on one of the busiest streets at Morro, at the top of a hill. So you will hear motor traffic day and night. Here are my scores:5 - Location. It is almost perfect3 - Price. For what you get, weekdays versus weekends2 - Breakfast. There is a sausage and a pancake. No fruit. Not what it used to be.3 - Showers, hot. but the nozzle is harsh and not adjustable.2 - The bed is new, but it is a clunky metal thing that makes a racket if you get in, out, or move around in bed.3 - Furniture is old, but mostly functional, with only a couple of chairs falling apart (held together with duct tape).4 - Fridge is large, and very functional. Microwave is good.3 - TV is small, however we never really used it.1 - Plugs, USB, or other outlets. Compared to modern hotels, there are almost none. 2 power outlets on a small desk. 1 on the wall by the door to the room.4 - Wifi. it has improved over the years, and very functional.5 - Service. Room was clean when we got here. We got extra towels, tissues, and TP when we aksed, but we didn't test the in-room service. Day time front desk is curtious. Night desk is better.5 - Location. Again, it is fantastic. Best breakfast place in town next door (Carla's), and best dinner only a short walk away (Dorns). It's noisy, but only a short walk to the coast to explore town and shops by the water. This place was our goto (once or twice a year). We have stayed at 4 or 5 of the others over the years and liked BW better, plus we are a big time BW customer that stays at a lot of them. Perhaps it is time to look around again. Not sure after this one.

We highly recommend this newly renovated Best Western. They’ve done a great job remodeling the whole place, inside and out. It was more then we expected! We were greeted by Laura at the front desk upon our arrival and upon every one of her recommendations we did it all and loved it. Our room was beautiful and had a spectacular view. You’re only one block from the quaint little town. Calm waters of Morro Bay, Morro Rock, Shopping, Restaurants, Surfing and more. We will definitely be back! ?

Very pricey for a Sunday . Small roomVery small toilet and shower. Only a decent view from a deck upstairs. Did have Good furniture couch and chairs and umbrella tables up there.Mediocre breakfast . There is a breakfast and lunch eatery behind the hotel that was very busy. And a little boutique next to it. Probably another option next time

I love being a Best Western member. Their rooms are nice and their customer service is great at every location except this. The old blonde lady that worked at the lobby front desk on July 28th, 2023 night was a closed minded racist. I used my husband’s card to make my reservation on call with them. When I got to the lobby to pick up my keys the first words she said to me were “what you need.” I told her 3-4 times that I was trying to check in, but she kept saying “what?”, I started questioning myself if I was even saying the right words. Then she said “oh, you check-in” and she tells me to give the credit card I used for the reservation. I told her that I used my husband’s card and he is not here, and asked if I could use a different card or my company’s. She interrupted me, saying I couldn’t because the last names on my reservation and the credit card were different. I explained to her because we are different cultures, in my culture you do not have to change your last name to your husband’s. She then told me she was still going to charge my husband’s card and wouldn’t give me my room key. I only was able to get my room key when I paid with my own card, but wouldn’t give a refund on my husband’s card.In the middle of the situation she let another worker help me instead and walked out of the room. The other employee thankfully told me he was going to try to cancel the other payment for me. I told him I was a member at Best Western, and asked if there was a discount. Then she came out from the other room saying she already give me my discount. Later that night, I checked my receipt and it showed i paid the same amount as it was on the website, and that there was no discount applied. If you do not like your job maybe it is time to look for one you like instead of taking out the frustrations of your probably loveless marriage on your customers. I wanted to share my experience to others who aren’t originally from this country to beware of this racist from ruining your vacation.

Staff is amazing and friendly. Rooms are really nice clean and inviting. My ocean view was perfect. Location is on point. Breakfast was really good. Loved having coffee all day. The grounds are warm and inviting. Love this one staying here again.Rooms: Clean and roomySafety: Quiet safe and warm atmosphereFood & drinks: Really goodNoteworthy details: Close to a really nice cafe and shopping. Up hill from the main street night life. Close enough if we wanted to go far enough away that we got a quiet nights sleep
