We experienced the hydro bikes this past Friday and it was fantastic! We had a lot of fun and it was very safe. Such beautiful views while riding and what a gorgeous day it was! The service was excellent as well. We highly recommend this company and activity. We would do it again. Thank you.

This is an experience that you want to repeat as soon as you are done -- and I am an old lady! My friend who was convinced that she was going to bail on the entire experience couldn't wait to return.Such a fabulous way to see the otters, birds, and sea lions up close. Very easy and peaceful

Came with my family as a group of 6 to celebrate a couple of birthdays. As a Bay Area local, it can be hard to find fun new activities, and I can genuinely say this is the best activity I've done in a long time! Saw a bunch of otters and harbor seals - many more seals than when kayaking in Marin or canoeing in Mendocino. One even came up and swam 6 ft behind my dad's hydrobike for a bit! Marcus was extremely knowledgeable and I'm surprised this activity isn't more well known - truly a gem that I'll be recommending to friends (local and out of town) from here on out. Will definitely be back! Other notes: - The peddling was very relaxed / easy - far easier than being on a kayak, and no risk of getting wet! - 2 hours on the water was the perfect amount of time. - I also appreciated how reasonably priced this was - such a steal compared to other Bay Area activities. - The bikes were also really clean which was great.

Super fun!We had some friends that tried this a couple of years ago and said they had lots of fun, so when family came to visit I booked our group of four. The hydrobikes are suprisingly very stable. I have a bum knee and was a bit concerned that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the pedaling (especially if we were going against the wind or tide). But it was actually very relaxing and I had no problems during the time we were on the water. We saw lots of sea otters, harbor seals, birds, jelly fish, and even a sting ray in the Slough. We swung by the north harbor on the way back to the dock to see all of the sea lions.Be sure to arrive 30 min before your reservation time for parking (aim for the south harbor pay-for-parking lot), check in, and orientation.

Great time riding the hydrobike on Elkhorn Slough! Marcus was very helpful with his knowledge timing the ride with the incoming and outgoing tide, as well as avoiding some areas. Weekday wasn't crowded. Lots of otters seals and pelicans, as well as perfect weather.

Our camp host let us know about Monterey Bay Hydrobikes and so we called hoping there was space available the next day for my sister’s birthday. We lucked out and WOW! what a cool experience! The bikes are very easy to ride, stable, and pedaling through the Elkhorn Slough provided an amazing and up close experience with all the wildlife. We stayed dry the entire time. Marcus was great with the bike orientation and rules for being near the wildlife. I highly recommend going for a “ride” on these bikes!

We had a fantastic experience renting Hydrobikes on Elkhorn Slough! We booked it ahead with Marcus on the phone and he explained everything. He recommended arriving at 8:30am to beat the crowds and enjoy the morning tranquility. When we arrived, he gave us a warm and friendly greeting and a very complete orientation to the Hydrobikes, the wildlife we would see, and making sure to respect the animals and give them plenty of space. We’ve gone kayaking on Elkhorn before, but found the paddling can be tough against the tide, you get wet, and sitting in those is hard on your back. So we decided to try the Hydrobikes. They are wonderful! So easy to peddle, totally stable and you’re sitting up high on a comfortable padded seat. We enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of early morning alone on the slough surrounded by seals, pelicans, otters, cormorants and great egrets. We were allowed to peddle into the harbor where a huge number of sea lions were resting on the docks, barking and playing in the water. Thank you Marcus for taking great care of us!

This was hands down our favorite activity on vacation! We normally would rent kayaks and paddle, but saw the listing for Hydrobikes and thought we would give it a try. So much fun, owners are super nice and informative. The bikes are amazingly stable and very easy to paddle around checking out the otters and seals. A real side benefit was the high seating position which gives you a great view and perspective, no problem pedaling against the wind and tide. All in all a really great experience, and one we would definitely repeat. 2 hours was a perfect amount of time to be out there as well. It was myself, wife, and son (13). Awesome time!

Our experience was simply unparalleled. Despite the fact that we were the only two customers at the time, the staff made sure to conduct a comprehensive and detailed orientation. This ensured that we felt safe and prepared for our hydrobiking adventure, even as first-timers.Once we got onto the water, the adventure truly began. As we pedaled at our own pace, we were greeted by a dazzling array of marine wildlife - playful sea lions, graceful otters, and even a seal. This unique experience connected us with nature in a way we hadn't anticipated! Highly recommend!

My wife had a shoulder injury, so kayaking was out. We tried the hydrobikes and were amazed at how easy it was to pedal and make headway, even coming back against the wind and tides. The bikes were really stable, came with cup holders for water, a storage bin for extra gear, and an oar in case you goofed and ran aground. The person who got us set up gave us a great overview, good info on where to go (and not go, watch out for eel grass!), and the importance of maintaining distance from the wildlife. We never had to pedal like crazy, just a leisurely pace. Saw lots of otters, seals, birds. We will be back, with friends.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! I went with my mom on these hydrobikes, and we had an absolute blast. There were sea otters everywhere, they instruct you to try and stay a certain distance from the wildlife, but they pop up right in front of you. We saw plenty of sea lions, and pelicans. The bikes themselves were really stable, the steering is easy. If you can listen and follow directions, you shouldn't have any problems. Make sure you come when it's high tide, rather than low because there is some grass that you can get stuck in; but we had no problems. With a little common sense and follow directions you'll have an amazing time. If your in the Capitola and Monterey area, I highly recommend doing these bikes.
