Good experience. Our trip was on 1/2/2024 which is definitely off season but we were still lucky enough to see a juvenile humpback. Boat was large, clean and not crowded. We used Dramamine and some of the wrist straps they sell at check in, and no-one in our party of 5 got particularly sea sick despite some big swells. There was a high surf advisory on our originally scheduled date but they were accommodating when we wanted to take a rain check instead (even though they were still going out). Overall no issues and I liked that the larger boat seemed to help counteract potential seasickness. Will likely use again.

Saw many humpback whales and orcas feeding a little surprising since I'm fond of sea lions. It was a bit disturbing, but that is nature. Great crew. If you tend to get sea sick, take something before you come on many carrying blue bags. It was a beautiful, calm day aside from some swells. Highly recommend.

We had a great time on Sea Goddess' afternoon whale watching tour this month!THE TOUR //+ The afternoon tour was 3 hours long, which we thought was a good amount of time. I lost count of how many humpback whales we saw - it felt like at least 20! Oftentimes they were in groups of 2-3. It was super cool seeing them surfacing to breathe and then diving deep, showing us their tails as they went under. + We also saw a ton of sea lions on the piers on our way out of the harbor, plus more rafts of sea lions swimming after the whales in the open ocean.+ The boat, Goddess Fantasy, was spacious and clean. We were on the main deck and had plenty of room to sit when we wanted to, and move around inside & outside around the boat.+ There were two guides on the boat: one was up on the VIP top deck who also talked over the speaker occasionally to announce whale sightings and share various facts about humpback whales and the local area, and the other was on the main deck walking around and answered many of our questions. We chatted with the guide on the main deck, who was a graduate student at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories and shared a lot of cool facts with us about fish. Loved to hear the passion in their voices!PRE-TOUR NOTES //+ Buying tickets online was easy. We bought ours on their website the morning of; the website will show if there are available spots for the morning or afternoon tours. + Arrive at Moss landing harbor early recommended 30-45 min before the boarding time, so that you can check in and board on time. + Their mobile shop/check-in also has medications for seasickness, snacks, a few drinks (water, canned coffee, soda), and souvenirs. The boats themselves have water for sale for $2/each.OVERALL //I do want to try a smaller boat tour next time for a more up-close experience, but this afternoon tour with Sea Goddess was a great tour for larger groups, first-timers or those prone to seasickness, and relatively lower cost.

Booked the Shark Combo Tour 6 weeks before the tour date (early September). On the Wednesday before our Saturday tour, we received notice that our tour was cancelled, and they shared that their tour that morning hadn’t seen a single shark and that the water was dirty / hard to see sharks. We rescheduled for the Shark Combo Tour on the following weekend instead. On the Tuesday before the rescheduled tour, we received notice that our tour was cancelled again because they didn’t receive enough reservations. We had booked the tour specifically to see sharks, and we’d been looking forward to it for weeks, so the disappointment led us to just request a refund rather than try to reschedule again. We got lucky that the hotel we’d booked let us change our reservation without charging us, but we ended up still staying at the hotel when the tour was cancelled a second time, and we spent our time exploring the town of Monterey instead.

Fantastic Tour - we went on a warm day (was 80F in Moss Landing) which made a perfect day (70s) out in the Monterey Bay. Tour was well managed, everyone was super polite and the crew did keep us reminded about the 3-point safety rule (keep your feet on the deck and one hand on a rail or seat). We saw over a dozen whales. At least 3-4 good sightings of whale showing us their tails as they dove. And finally a pod of dolphins swimming right next to the boat! All this and the decently sized Goddess Fantasy boat never gave us any motion sickness - was very stable - even the prow was easily managed by my frequently motion-sick kid. Finally the best rates we could find. Would definitely do again & highly recommend!

This was our first trip for whale watching. Our ticket was for sharks, but they contacted us, informing that the sharks were not present. We took the offer for whale watching, and it was amazing. Staff were knowledgeable, and we witnessed many humpbacks?. We will definitely be back.

The sea breeze, fresh air, and beautiful sea creatures - whales. I was delighted to go on this tour. The staff answered all our questions, showing their professionalism. However, I was slightly disappointed. Instead of seeing four different types of whales, we only saw one in three hours. And I understand it's not the company's fault, but I wanted to see whales jumping out of the water to fully appreciate the beauty of these unique marine creatures.Overall, I recommend to take this tour at least once, especially if you have children (they will enjoy it).

Had such an amazing whale-watching tour today! Saw a really active group of humpback whales and then found ourselves in the middle of a huge pod of dolphins!! (They said this is rare.). Staff was very friendly, provided interesting info, and came around to chat with everyone and answer questions. Definitely dress warmly and take motion sickness medication beforehand! Used a Groupon.

I've been on Sea Goddess tours several times but have never been so disappointed or annoyed with a business before. We drove 2 hours from SF only to find out out tour had been canceled, by email (which went to my spam folder) less than 24 hours before. I had already bought a $12 parking pass which they have not refunded and while they say they called...we do live in a time when our phones keep track of received phone calls and I definitely was not called or texted....obviously if I was I wouldn't have wasted an entire day driving down there. I recommend going to Chris's Whale watching in Monterey Bay and not wasting time with such a terrible business.

Came out for my birthday and was not disappointed! Honestly, I did not expect to see as many whales because of the weather, but there was a bunch. Crew was very informative I learned alot. Dress warmly got a little cold when we got out at sea ?
