The guy was nice. The lady was extremely rude. My refund of $2,000+ Has not been returned. When I call to inquire about it I get yelled off the phone by a very disrespectful worker. I will never rent a uhaul from this place again. Nor would I suggest it to anyone…. And the guy told me that there uhaul boxes were eaten by Rats ? so I wouldn’t use there storage facilities either ??

nice folks WHEN they pick up the phone. not sure what they do in there all day that constitutes not picking up the phone. not ideal to drive halfway to weed just to ask a question. rates are cheap at least

Owner got covid. Listed no notice & bad communication. We had a reservation via online. Had to go to the other location down the street to help us since this location had been closed up & abandon but was still taking reservations

Went for first time to this storage and customer service was great. When opened unit was very clean. The only problem is the area going into unit is unpaved so when it snows will be very muddy. They do have a snow plow so being a first time user of this business during winter can't give info on. So far so good. Just got unit less than a week ago.

I would like to give a huge thank you to Jen at Butte Self Storage. In all my experiences at Butte Jen has been so awesome in assisting me in all my dilemmas. This last one being the rental of two U Haul’s going in two different directions. I have never rented one before and it was going to be on a weekend and there is no one on site and she went through all the details that I would need to do and this weekend went so beautifully smooth because of her. Thank you again, Jen. You are a great asset to Butte Self Storage?

I have used this storage facility for many years now and have always had excellent customer service from the staff and management. They are always willing to assist when they can and have impressively gone above and beyond on a number of occasions.

Worst place ever. Rude employee. She called and yelled at me and was extremely rude. I understand i was behind on payments due to covid and she did not care and was unwilling to wait a week for payment.

Recieved my receipt for uhaul rental. They are trying to charge me $200 for cleaning for "pot bits" in the cab and cargo area and $45 for gas. I left the truck with 41 miles left in gas, the same amount I received the truck with (practically empty, which I was appalled with when I picked up the truck). I don't use marijuana, I'm a nursing student who just moved away for school. I had a lemon balm plant in the cab and various house and yard plants, all in pots, in the cargo area. The truck was swept out, both cab and cargo, prior to returning. I have always had an issue renting from this facility. Pervious experience of attempting to rent a trailer from them for hauling and was yelled at by a female employee cause she "didn't work for uhaul". Would give less than one star if I could. Drive to Montague uhaul rentals for better customer service and an actual person to speak with.

RESPONSE TO OWNERJune 29, 2020I am glad you stand with your staff given the crazy world we live in today, that is commendable! Those who know me know that I don't yell and am not easily angered. In fact, I was happy to wait for the Sheriff that she called so that she could not accuse me of running off. I want to be very clear that sense the incident on 6/24 I have moved my parents out of your storage unit and you lost my rent that wasted time calling her about for 2 days (and 5 calls). Do yourself a favor and listen to my phone messages (if she kept them). You will hear that I was never angry or rude in them, as she accused me of when I introduced my self after knocking on the "open" office door. I am happy to have let my business speak for me, and in this instance, your staff cost you business not only my potential business, but it lost you a long time customer, my parents! Since my unfortunate encounter with your staff, I have been told by two people in person and one person via e-mail that my encounter was not unlike their own. Take that for what it is worth, but know that my encounter is not something I will keep quiet about!Also, do not let COVID-19 be your staff OR YOUR excuse for poor customer service, as a retuned call has absolutely no risk in causing contamination and is a great way of doing business, something she failed to utilize! I am grateful and happy to know that you have been made aware of the fact that at least one, customer of yours was lost by her actions & given human nature, I am sure I am not the first or last. At least you know and knowing is 1/2 the battle!Ever Forward!AaronORIGINAL WRITE UPI have never written a bad review of a place but the management here is abysmal. I choose to do business with this company because my parents have a storage unit here and it would have been convenient for us. Over the course of two days, I made a total of 5 calls trying to set up storage and purchase boxes for packing up my home belonging for storage. Today I came to the storage unit to drop off some stuff for my parents. I came to the office and knock on the door and was treated horrifically by the office staff. She stated that she only worked by appointment and would call in the order she received request (again 2 days with 2 calls one day and 3 the second, yet not one call back). Her statement that it was by appointment only was never stated on the outgoing message, or on any paper at the office. The office has stated hours, well a this is the site very rarely over the last three months every time I have been there nobody has been on site. It is very clear that this staff person needs to recognize that returning calls and being presentable and friendly to customers is what is expected! If she is an employee she should be let go, if she's the owner it will only be a matter of time before her attitude runs the business into the ground. I would not do business Butte self-storage and U-Haul. My interaction with this person was so beyond the pale! Something I will also be contacting U-Haul at the district level to make them aware of what a poor representative of their company this staff person is! While I recognize I am just one voice, I am positive that I am not the first person to have such a negative interaction with this employee.A word of advice to self-storage and U-Haul, Under-promise over-deliver and communicate with customers, they are who keep you in business! Not only did you lose a customer (a good customer that is not easily angered) but you will also lose an existing customer as I will be moving mom and dad out of this location! To anyone reading this, if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me!
