Last year I dropped off my paperwork with the new owner, Shannon, late in the season - the end of March beginning of April. Nothing was said to me about it being a problem getting my returns done in a timely way. I didn’t hear back from until right before they were due on 5/17, so I called. I was told that they were not able to get them done in time so I’d have to file an extension and that I would not be charged for filing that extension (implying it was their doing). I was not told that I needed to make an estimated payment with the extension. A month or 2 later I received a phone call asking for additional information required to do the returns. Then in Aug., when they were finally done I went in to pick them up. At that point I saw on the paperwork that I would be charged penalties for not making an estimated payment with the extension. At that time Shannon told me I had to file the extension because they didn’t have all the information they needed. If they had asked me for it in the first place I would have forwarded it to them immediately, but it was clear they didn’t even look at my documents until after the due date of 5/17/21. Since then I’ve written to her and called with absolutely no response. Beware!

Just called for information, spoke with the rudest woman (her name was never given). Customer service is horrible, will not be pursuing any further contact.Just wanted to establish contact for upcoming tax season.Do not recommend contacting them.

Unprofessional questions, acted like it was weird I had losses in year during a pandemic with no art shows that are 90% of my income. Also acted like this was a hobby I was trying to write off when I'm an established business that's been functioning and profitable for 5 years out of 6 years. Not returning.

The staff at H&R Block in Mt. Shasta were very nice, however, after seeing my return and the price , I decided to do my own return via an internet site. After telling this to the accountant, she stayed very affable and understanding. Being on disability I'm on a very fixed income and I need to watch what I spend. If you have a more complicated return, property, royalties etc., I definitely recommend H&R Block in Mt. Shasta.

We seem to be at the age where there are cheaper options available for us senior citizens. If there were a price reduction for folks over 65 - it might encourage returns though. Just a thought.
