It’s best to think of Loge as an upgrade to a “cabin in the woods with no electricity or plumbing.” Framed that way, you’ll be delighted to have dim Edison bulbs, TV and a climate system that could generate a lifetime of sound effects for the Star Wars franchise. But if you are hoping for a normal hotel experience, you’ll be disappointed. As others have said, this is an old motel that is aging quicker than they can repaint and hang hip art. And it is a community concept, which cuts both ways. We stopped overnight on our way from Oregon to SoCal. Was hoping for some quiet but there was a multi family group here, and their pack of kids were roaming the property, running, screaming, and jumping on beds right until 10p. At least they stopped when the quiet hours started at 10p. On the plus side, the beds were comfortable and our pup enjoyed the stay — they made it comfortable for her. I’m glad we tried the LOGE but not sure we’d come back.

As someone who works in the outdoor recreation industry, I really want to like LOGE, so I keep trying. But I'm officially done and am never staying at another one again. The rooms here are dark and depressing, with bald edison style light bulbs that just make it feel institutional. There is no art or anything to make the space feel comfortable, even though Shasta is one of the most beautiful places. It's a very cheap, shabby renovation of an old motel, and it is not well maintained or clean. The heat didn't work, the fridge was full of frost, and the bathroom was disgusting. The resort fee is a complete scam - none of the usual equipment or amenities are available, except for a hammock and Yeti cooler, both of which were too gross to touch. The only staff person present was young and really didn't know how to do anything.LOGE tries to draw you in with the "outdoor stoke" vibe but it's all a branding act. Being outdoorsy doesn't mean trashy.

1986 was the year my husband of 37 years and I married in Reno, NV. spent part of our honeymoon in Mouny Shasta and happily stayed at the, back then, Finlandia Motel. It was a beautiful place with all the amenities we needed. I have pictures of the hotel back then. Too bad there is no way to upload pictures in the review.

WATCH OUT FOR HIDDEN FEES! There's hidden fees that are buried in the fine print (supposedly) which adds up to a lot if you're staying multiple days. Check in staff were hard to find and gave almost no information, not even a wifi password. I attempted to contact Loge afterwards and was given a generic email response. Take your money elsewhere unless you're looking for the bare minimum

Solid marketing concept; poor execution. My review relates to a reservation for camping. Arrival felt awkward. No staff or host on site after 5pm.Walked property, asked other guests but had to reference the property map from an e-mail on my phone to locate the bathroom. Minimal signage. Facilities were located in the corner of the L shaped hotel building. Access code then down a short secluded hallway to two toilets and two showers for all of the campers (men and women combined) who occupied the 10 campsites. Odd that access to a random upper hotel room is also through the same hallway area below. One would think that a staff person would clean and re-stock supplies prior to end of shift but no toilet paper was provided. Lights are on motion sensors, so I had to wave my hand mid shampoo rinse when the light went out. Not a good vibe for a solo female traveler. The 10 campsites are basically small wooden stalls with shared walls located at the edge of a hotel parking lot. Parking was limited and not all sites were level. Sites are automatically assigned during the reservation process. No way to change your location upon arrival. Minimal privacy. One of the two plastic Adirondack chairs in my site was cracked, twinkle lights were missing bulbs. Each site has a picnic table. Bark park is cute but small. Limited space to walk your dog so hotel guests gravitate toward the camp area. Hotel guests also came out and used the campsite next to mine for their pre-bedtime smoke break. There is a nicely appointed gathering site in between the two hotel buildings and across from the tent camping. One group plus several solo people gathered there and were thankfully respectful of quiet hours at 10pm. I found it unsettling that they had a fire roaring beneath the boughs of dry evergreen trees in early September. On a Thursday night, it was remarkably quiet between 10pm and 6am. After that all bets were off as the parking lot came to life for morning departures. Not a relaxing stay, not for me. On the plus side, cost and just a few miles into the charming downtown area.

Stayed here three nights $850 during Labor Day 2023.Neighbor's room had two large dogs left in room all day and unrtil about 1:30 next two mornings. Barked all day and night with pounding on walls.I complained to the front desk and the manager came to the room and heard the barking as well. I got one nights sleep out of three. I asked for a two night comp and management refused. The buck is mightier that customer service I guess. The room was semi clean as well and they do not clean your room unless you stay a minimum of four nights I was told.Coffe pot in room was filmy and the shower fixtures came off the wall. My feet turned black after one pass on the floor barefooted.Coffe was weak and lukewarm at the cafe.

Great little place just off I5. Renovated motel with neat touches like in room hammock and bike racks, fire pit (s’mores!!), and doggie area. 2 queen beds in separate spacious rooms. AC unit in main living area worked great, but we slept with the bedroom doors open for airflow. Could use more seating options in living room but worked for us.

What a lovely, beautiful and friendly place, with Wi-Fi, coffee, and AC. It’s perfect if you need some work done, even if you are not staying in their rooms.Cheers to who manages and works in this place. ☀️

This is my first time here. Usually I like to review hotels if I’ve stayed at least twice but there’s definitely things to validate: my room has a hammock hanging across the ceiling; that is super cool. So this is a motel for those who are into outdoor activities or have a pet. There’s a lot of things they’ve done right. The floor does not have carpet. There’s a yeti cooler that I can use. There’s a whole bunch of gear hooks on the wall and an extra large mini fridge, along with the normal things you would find in a motel room. There’s also camp sites as well as a hostel on site. There’s a bike rental and outdoor gathering place with fire pit so a lot of cool features; there’s not really a front desk in the typical sense, but there is a café during business hours. So definitely a great place for dog lovers or people looking to have a more affordable option, that also accommodates outdoor adventure lifestyle. No free breakfast but the community kitchen and common room makes it awesome.

The website looks so amazing, activity central location, with a focused community, the place is way over priced and when ask the staff about outdoor activities that are in the website, I was told they do not write the stuff on the website. I tripped 4 times on a nail at the top of the stairs, I then removed it so it would not kill anyone. There was not community feel from the staff and we check out early to move to a new location with super helpful staff that want the business and for us to have an epic experience.Pass the place up and drive into town.

Road trip with my daughter & our dogs from Portland to Wnter's, CA. We broke up long trip by staying in Mt. Shasta- a little pricey but amazing location at the base of Mountain. Fenced in doggy area, large gas firepit area, campsites, and a great cafe. Rooms were large and set up for outdoor activities, including electric shoe/boot warmer & hammock that stretched across room for extra resting space. We had a peek a boo view of Mt shasta from room. The room was comfortable & clean.

I've stayed at two Loge properties and I'm not completely satisfied with either - they seem rather expensive for what you get. Nevertheless, it's a fun concept and clearly some folks love these places. The bathroom had visible staining/dirt on the floor (see photos). The little bits of carpet by the beds are dirty. The room is dark but at least then you can't see the carpet. The chest of drawers was very rickety, like it came from a free pile. No luggage racks and nowhere to put your duffle bag except for your bed. No coffee pot to brew coffee. Their model seems to be to superficially revamp vintage (old and tired) motor lodges in mountain towns, therefore, very thin walls. Trains blow after 10pm and before 6am - see thin walls - this might wake you up. The camping looked like horse stalls. Barely enough room to park you car in the stalls. No security lock inside for you. Aside from the fact that our confirming texts and emails asserted that they were stoked to see us, our barista seemed less than stoked to serve me coffee. On the plus side, the charm of old and tired motor lodges in mountain areas is there. There are multiple fire pits that the management trusts you to operate on your own. The common spaces are clean and bright. I loved the keypad to enter the room - no key, and in this case, no hunting down staff to get a key. The room is quite spacious. The beer that you can buy until 5 pm is fantastic and there are bike rentals. The sheets were clean and the bedspreads were freshly laundered. The room was beautiful with vaulted ceilings and full sized huge windows that looked out onto the forest and some old building supplies. I am outdoorsy so i think I would be included in their demographic. I do go on ski trips and stayed at the Bend location to ski Bachelor. We could drag our stuff in and make a mess without damaging the carpet but it was still too expensive to justify the cost for the amenities. When we skied bachelor this year, we stayed across the street at the Tetherow. For $200 vs. $250, we got a hot tub, pool, sauna, cookies, snacks, a hand-written thank you note, acres of wild lands to explore, two restaurants, a spotless room, actual wine and water glasses, and a rockstar balcony with an amazing view. That was money well spent.I'd stay again - in this case, at $179/night in June for two queen beds, it was the most reasonable room in Shasta. I guess Loge is ideal for tired parents of rowdy and messy young children who want a beer at the end of the day and are happy about the s'mores and campfires and not needing to care if their kids are rough on the room.

I really want to like this place. It's a fixed up old motel, made nice for outdoor adventure sorts. But there are a few problems.Checking in took almost 20 minutes. First we had to wait a long time for the people ahead of us. Then the person working couldn't manage to check us in. She called the manager and apologized profusely to *him* for taking his time, but not so much to us for ours. She said they were migrating to a new reservations system. I got the sense that wasn't the whole story. The there's the wifi, which is ridiculously slow everywhere except right next to the office. FaceTime and Zoom don't really work in any of the rooms. In 2023, it is not hard or expensive to put decent wifi everywhere. In the morning, we had some logistical questions, but the office has a "back at 8" sign. By 8:30, there was still no one there, so we left. At least 3 other guests were also lined up outside the office, confused as to why someone wasn't there. I mean 8 is way too late for a hotel office to open. Even cheap motels have someone there in the early morning. It seems part of a pattern of just not really caring about guest experience. This place Is still fairly new, so hopefully they iron all this out. For now, however, it's suboptimal.

Such a cool little spot! Only here for one night but I loved the rooms, the property, and the cafe! Hope to be back again for a longer stay!
