Went back for the first time since they were hostile to having customers during the pandemic.Asked for a library card and was shown to a machine where I filled out an application that wasn't complete until I went back to the same person to finish my application. Was told this process existed to make it easier. When I complained to management that taking a one-step process and making it a three-step process was not easier, he said that nobody had put it that way before. So obviously they just meant easier for their staff and never thought of the customer.I went to go use their computers to finish a task, and they have the last 4:3 LCD monitors in use in the world, and instead of having the computers be terminals, they use a virtualization solution that is so slow that I couldn't get any modern website to work with out timing out. What I complained at the front desk they sent me back up a flight of stairs to an information desk who told me that the front desk could take my complaint.I'm not sure of these people are smart enough to run a library.

This is the best library I have ever been to. It's centrally located to downtown Mountain View, incredibly modern, and has amazing renewal and borrowing length policies.Because it's self-checkout and self-return, there are never any lines. The library has most DVDs come in stock shortly after they are released, and have multiple copies of the popular movies so you are rarely waiting for someone to return their copy. You can keep music CDs for a month, and they even have a Mobile Library that makes it's way across Mountain View throughout the week so it'll usually stop by somewhere near you.Amazing.Still a fantastic library!

This library could be great, but the way it's run is stupid.

Happened to bump into a public library while I was exploring around Downtown Mountain View, but this is a good place to study, work, read, and borrow books especially those who around it.It also has a children’s section where kids can find good books to read. Surprisingly, they have like a bunch of newspapers (not sure if they are a mixed of old and new ones).Anyways, good place to work or study!

It was very easy and fast to make a library card, has automatic machines to check out and return books, has children services, and a good service.

Everything here is nice, 2 levels, underground parking, and it feels safe. However, I’ve seen a lot of suspicious persons near the teen reading area and kid’s section. They look like they’re homeless. Or suffer mental health issues.Police do foot patrols, this library has in-house security, as well as 3rd party security guards. I’ve visit this place 2 days a week. It can get packed with students after 2pm. On weekends it’s decent. As long as you don’t sleep, yell, cuss, vape, or take off your shoes..your cool ?

This library is really nice! My son loves walking up the stairs and browsing the shelves. It's great that they have board games for kids too.

Decent library. But staff can be rude. I asked the staff questions and he told me to bother someone else
