My daughter is blessed to be attending her second year at St. Joseph and we intend on staying throughout 8th grade. I've always wanted her to attend a Catholic school and after spending just one year with St. Joseph, I am positive that it is one of the best decisions I've made for her yet. St. Joseph's community is so inclusive that we feel like part of one big intertwined family, regardless of grade. Not only is my child thriving academically from extremely attentive teachers, but also, she is being guided to uphold morals and values that I truly feel are helping her grow into a kind and successful human being.School faculty are constantly looking for new ways to improve and asking for feedback from parents, truly showing they care! Mrs. Placencia, Mrs. Usis, and Mrs. Holmes have been incredibly kindhearted and attentive to all of our needs. Every morning we are greeted with warm smiles and positive energy. After school, my daughter is ecstatic to tell me about what she learned and how much she adores her friends and teacher Ms. Villagomez.Now that we are on summer vacation, my daughter is counting the days until back to school! Cannot recommend this school enough, I am confident that my child is in extremely capable and loving hands. So proud and grateful to be a part of this wholesome learning environment. Thanks, SJMV!

I had the privilege to teach physical education at SJMV for the 2021-2022 school year through a contracted company that sends physical education teachers to different schools called Rhythm and Moves. Rhythm and Moves sent me to three different schools including SJMV and hands down SJMV is my favorite school to teach at. Since day one on campus, every single staff member at SJMV welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like I was part of the family. At every other school that I was at, this was not the case and I definitely felt like an outsider. Mrs. Usis and her staff made an extreme effort to make me feel welcome and reassured me that I was part of their awesome community. As a teacher, this kind of atmosphere motivates me to come to work every single morning because I know no matter how badly the day goes, I know I have a team/staff that will have my back and motivate me. As for the students, they were AWESOME!. At my two other schools, I had close to 40 kids in every single physical education class. But At SJMV, at most I had 24 so I was able to grow a better connection with the students and implement quality lessons with less distraction and behavior issues. SJMV and their staff have created an atmosphere for their students to make them feel like they belong and every student has personalized attention, which is hard to find in a public school. Mrs. Usis has many plans to grow SJMV with programs for the school such as sports and clubs to create a more sense of community for the students and spark their creativity/expression. I am excited to be part of the SJMV family!

Our son has been attending St Joseph's, Mountain View since Kindergarten and we couldn't be happier. We love the community, we love that the school is smaller in size thereby able to give personalized attention to every child. We are not catholic, but they are very inclusive. We love the fitness Fridays, mid school dinner parties, popsicle days, field trips to name a few. It's a perfect mix of academics and extra curricular activities. They have a great after school program which includes the homework club, indoor and outdoor playtime.

We moved to California and literally jumped from school to school for 3 years looking for the right fit for our son. This was our son's first year at SJMV and hands down the best decision we could have made. The teachers and administration literally treat you like family. Before he started in the middle of the school year the teacher called him before his first day to see how he was doing and talked to us about his learning style. His teacher even showed up to his baseball game. I could keep going but the education, teachers, and administration are all top notch and amazing individuals. They care!!

We have had both our boys at St Joseph for the last two years. We moved both of them from another private, academically competitive private school and have never looked back. Our older son graduated this year and will be attending St Francis High school next year. From the support staff, to the teachers and the principle Mrs Usis, everyone cares so much about the kids. It's truly amazing to see these kids go to school with excitement everyday, knowing they are safe and happy. The teachers go above and beyond to give each kid the individual attention they need. The focus is on the whole child, instilling core values in them, something that's lacking from the education system these days. They have navigated through COVID with such care and attention to detail. While our friends' children have fallen behind academically, our two boys not only did not fall behind, but they flourished and thrived thanks everyone at St Joseph. We are proud to be part of this community and are looking forward to building more friendships over the next 5 years until our younger son graduates.

St. Joseph School in Mountain View is situated downtown on a park like campus that offers a challenging curriculum and close-knit community. From the first step on campus students are welcomed with positivity and a great day of learning and adventure. Education is based on the tenets of Catholicism, but all faiths are respected and guided by California State Standards. Small teacher to student ratio assures students get plenty of individual attention and access to latest technology enhances the experience. There are many quality options in the area, but I strongly recommend St. Joseph for a valuable education.

I grew up in MV and knew of SJMV from high school classmates, a quarter century ago! Now as a parent of a SJMV student, I experience firsthand the positive spirit, amazing collaboration, and enduring strength of this school community. Everyone, from principal to teachers and support staff, has fostered a nurturing, safe, cohesive and positive environment for the students. As a healthcare provider, I'm particularly impressed with school's COVID protocols (respiratory and hand hygiene, weekly testing, and rational and clear communication). My child not only developed in academics and spirituality, he also developed healthy wellness habits that will keep him thriving in the years to come!

This is my sons third year with St.Joseph's school and he absolutely loves it .The teachers here are amazing and we would never worry while he's under their care and guidance .The academic program is well planned and also the extra curricular activities are well designed to help in the over all development of the kids. We are so very happy to be a part of SJMV family. The support from school and the staff here is unmatched. The best part we love about the school is , that there are so many opportunities for us as parents to be a part of and be actively involved in school events. So, If you are looking for a school that emphasizes and inculcates good values along with good educational experience than it has to be St.Joseph school!

I love St. Joseph Catholic School of Mountain View!My son started here in transitional kindergarten and he is now in 4th grade. My daughter attended this school from 5th grade to 8th grade and she currently attends St. Francis High School. St Joseph of Mountain View has a fantastic administrative team with principal Mrs. Christine Usis, admissions director Mrs. Michelle Placencia, and office manager Mrs. Jennifer Holmes. They are all very warm and caring, as well as super responsive to the needs of the children, parents and teachers. The faculty members are great as well. They are dedicated to the children and passionate about teaching. They balance school work and homework well so that the amount of time spent in both is just right. They prepare the children well so that when the time comes the children transition seamlessly into high school. The parish priest Fr. Engel is simply amazing. He is so supportive of the families' spiritual needs, not just at school and at church, but in the homes as well. He always makes himself available for house blessings and other Catholic services needs. Finally, there's a wonderful close knit community atmosphere that makes it so easy to reach out to other families for anything. My husband and I have always felt welcomed and well connected here. We have made so many friends for life. I highly and wholeheartedly recommend this school to all our families and friends, as well as yours. Please check it out for yourselves and see the difference!

A school is only as good as it's leader and the new leadership at St. Joseph has been amazing! Mrs. Usis has brought a new energy and light to the community. It feels whole again. The changes we have seen in just the short time she has been there are truly making a positive impact on education and community.

We are so happy with our choice to send our child to this school. Being from oversees, it can be challenging to select a school where you have no context or history with the school. St. Joseph's offers not only excellent teaching but also a fantastic ethos that fosters and emboldens kindness, community and friendships. I would highly recommend the school whether you are from town or out of town.

I love our school. The teachers have been wonderful! The school implements an inclusion model that makes all students feel welcome. The administration is great at communicating with parents and making them feel supported. The administration went above and beyond during the school closures in making sure every student was able to continue learning from day one. I couldn't ask for anything more in a Catholic education. St. Joseph school has provided an enriching learning environment for my family for 5 years and we are grateful to be a part of the community.

My son transferred to SJMV this school year at 7th Grade. He has some adjustments issues during first trimester but the teachers and staff aided him in order to catch up. My son expresses that he values so much the learning materials and high-quality content of the curriculum. They do a great job communicating with the parents through the dashboard and email as well. We love this school!!
