It was great because it was near downtown and it was in walking distance.

Did not provide the listed amenities. Pool and spa are closed. Had planned on taking a sauna before heading out to Mercer caverns at ten. For some reason the sauna is closed until nine. The room has a heating/cooling unit in the bedroom only so there’s a fan that blows air to the living room. It didn’t work. Puddles of dried uncleaned puddles of vomit in parking lot.

First time ever staying in the area. When we arrived the front desk person was very courteous. Informed us the hotel makes donuts each morning for guests and what type of donut we would and what time we would like them delivered. We inspected the room and found it to be very clean. With it being a suite, it was very spacious for the two of us.The hotel was quiet. We came and went several times, finally arriving late in the evening. Things were still quiet. The one downfall was the mattress, my wife found it to hard. I was fine with it. I usually wake up with hip and back pain. Not here.I would like to have access to free coffee like every other hotel we have stayed. A nice, hot cup of decaf with flavored creamers and a newspaper. That's how I like to relax.Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return as well as recommend this hotel.

Definitely not worth the 550 bucks spent, the sofa bed, sheets and pillows smelled like they hadn’t been washed in a long while, the shower head was awful, we (party of 4) arrived to one roll of toilet paper we had to replace the empty roll and the “breakfast burritos” were frozen and from Walmart. Dude at the desk was rude and impolite all three days, and finally, unlike everyone else he offered, I never got an ice cream.

This place is GREAT, we really had a fabulous time. For this type of hotel, the hallways are super wide and the rooms are huge, such a welcome difference from the tiny rooms where there's just a 1 ft walking path around 2 queen beds. The pool and hot tub were clean and on, so nice even on a rainy day. They bring you breakfast to your room which is basic, but at least it's something - and they bring you fresh donuts!!!Microwave, fridge, two TVs, everything worked in the room.Someone said the furniture is out-dated, but it's in good condition so no need to swap it out!Walking distance to a few restaurants, for serious walkers you can get downtown, but just as easy to move your car a little further into town to walk around.Did I mention they have a free soft-serve ice cream machine? Stop by the front desk whenever and ask for a cup or cone, this is better than a cruise ship, we will definitely return when we come to Murphys again.

Our room was ok. The beds were not very comfortable the showerhead sucked. They do have complimentary soft serve ice cream machine and fresh made donuts in the morning. The pool area was clean and nice. All in all outdated it needs freshing up and modernizing. It is about 25 to 30 minutes to the big tree state park. And old town is walking distance from the hotel. For the money it's a good deal. The staff was very nice and helpful.

This is a place to crash on your way to somewhere else. Barely adequate bed but little else to recommend it. Clean enough but worn and certainly not worth $200 per night. The area seems to have expensive and budget lodging but on a weekend night expect to pay a premium.

Stayed here after a long day at the lake. Property was easy to find. Being a Monday it was very quiet and relaxing. Grandkids loved that we had the pool and hot tub to ourselves. Staff was polite and accommodating, and the mini donuts made fresh in the morning were a treat!

Two night stay. Wonderful office staff. Comfortable, very clean, with rustic charm in lobby. Housekeeping staff did a great job. Fresh donuts daily delivered to your door at a choice of your timing between a 3 hour time frame. Beds were comfortable. Pool was on the smaller size & it only went to 5 feet, but it was perfect for us & was well located away from the traffic side, a beautiful oak casts a lovely shade on parts of the pool in the afternoon. Easy access, sufficient parking. If we ever travel that way again we’ll definitely book there. Soft serve in the lobby was a nice touch. Very satisfied with the low end cost of our stay.

I'd stay again for sure. Pool and hot tub along with convenient location I was so pleasantly surprised! The rooms are very clean and oversized with a mini fridge, coffee and microwave. The front desk couldn't be any friendlier or helpful and they have espresso and cappuccino along with orange juice and fresh made doughnuts complementary in the mornin.

We stayed at Murphys Suites when we visited Big Trees. Upon checking in, we discovered that we could receive a frozen breakfast burrito or some homemade mini donuts for breakfast. I had the former, my friend had the latter. It was an El Monterey breakfast burrito. I wasn't that disappointed because I wasn't expecting breakfast. I tried one of the donuts. It was good but not off the scale good. Orange juice came in a 4 ounce carton. It reminded me of elementary school. The room was quiet, pretty spacious, and clean. But due to COVID they weren't servicing the room daily. I though the public health emergency was over? I liked having two sinks in the junior suites. It's really useful when two people share a room. The clock in the room was totally off, not by a few hours but by hours and minutes. I had to google the instructions for the clock to reset it.My only nitpicks were that the rooms could have used more available power outlets, and there was no channel guide for the TV. I had to use Zap2it (wifi worked really well) to look up what was on which channel.

This hotel is perfectly situated to explore downtown Murphys and all the nice shops, winery tasting rooms and eateries. You are close enough to visit Calaveras Big Trees State park or Columbia State park. The rooms are clean and large. The staff are welcoming and nice.

Right off hwy 4 so very convenient to downtown Murphys. The hotel is very clean and updated. Even though you are off the hwy the place is very quiet. Our room was very large and spacious with a large bathroom. The parking lot is large and the spaces wide. We didn't sample the free donuts or frozen breakfast burritos so can't comment on that. There is a bread store located in the parking lot as you enter the property. As some have mentioned request a second floor room.
