My brothers AAR Cuda had been sitting for over 12 years. I recently acquired the car, since he had a brain injury 11 years ago. I finally got a recommendation from a friend that Motech would be a good choice, since this is an old high performance muscle car from 1970, and I didn't want just anyone working on it! I had the car towed to Motech (about 100 miles from me) and told the guys I wanted it restored, whatever they could find wrong. The paint was in good shape, no body work needed to be done, just fluids flushed, all rubber replaced, new tires, hoses etc. It was there for 1 year. After having it towed back (about $500 each way) I started it, pulled into my driveway, and it sat for a couple of months, as I needed to get it registered. That's another story which I will also write up here on Yelp. When I got the new license plates, I tried to start the car. It wouldn't run, just blew out black smoke. I contacted Motech and had the car towed back down to Murrieta. They had it for another week. Oh, during the time they had it for the second time, I told them the shift handle seemed very loose, lots of play. This is a much longer shift handle than my Honda, twice as long, but about 4 to 5 times the throw. They told me the linkage was home made, so they installed the correct one. So first, why didn't they catch that the first time? They are the MOPAR experts, not me! When I got the car back, I started it, pulled into the driveway and it sat for a week. I needed to pull it out to wash so I could take it to a car show, and it wouldn't run, AGAIN!. What the he'll! I contacted Motech again, and they said the carburetor needed a float bowl adjustment. Then they told me it runs rich and that the car needed to be run, so I tried to drive it around the block. Not only did it keep stalling (had to give it half throttle to keep it running) but it was hard to find first gear. I was stalled in the middle of the intersection! Had to wave cars through. Finally limped it home (3 blocks away), parked it, contacted Motech and never heard back! After spending over $40K, you would think they would know how to fix cars! BTW, they installed a new carburetor the first time. Every car person that I know has told me it is a float bowl adjustment issue. Everyone! And they also told me it shouldn't run rich and stall! Now I'm looking for someone local to work on it.

TOTAL RIP OFF! Used cheap parts and charged the premium price. Overcharged labor costs. Never wrote down work before doing it, and again overcharged. SCAMMERS NO DOUBT!!!

An awesome car show with awesome people. What a great way to spend the day. Great old and new cars and trucks on display. The project cars they are putting together are to die for. Pay them a visit, you won't be disappointed.
