Jarvis Estate Winery offers a must-do tour and tasting experience in Napa. The entire visit occurs within an incredible, amazing cave facility where all winemaking processes occur. The tour is very informative, with knowledgeable and fun hosts. It is a small group experience at a family-owned business with a lot of history. Every single wine is magnificent, fabulous, and world class, including a wide variety such as Chardonnay and Cab Franc. The experience is truly worth the price and a definite must not miss.
Excellent and unique winery. If you're looking for an interesting nontraditional winery tour then I highly suggest Jarvis. The entire operation is underground in the cave but it's beautiful throughout. The tasting was also one of the best we had during our trip. Shout out to Cora, she was great!
At Jarvis, it's what you don't see that's most impressive. While the approach and the views from the property are nothing to shrug about, the estate is really set apart by what's underground: the entire winery. Fermentation tanks, offices, restrooms, everything but the vines themselves. All production and administration happens in the 45,000 square feet tunneled under the Vaca mountain range. A natural stream creates a waterfall and rambles through the caves. Bring a sweater for your tasting, which will-you guessed-take place underground.
