Safety: Lots of cops in this sketchy area, and some not so great late night business activities on the corner outside of the fence.

Roaches in the room.
Towels were dirty.
Floors were dirty, so I wiped them down.
They charge $12 a day for parking. There's a deposit of $100. Make sure you don't make any stains on the towels or anything. They will charge you from the deposit. It was a good stay, and I'm just not going to do it again. You pay for what you get, it's cheap motel have been to better motel, 6s.
Stay next door to Howard Johnson. 450 bucks, more, at least you'll get housekeving.
The workers were nice, but I asked for housekeeping. They say that they don't do that until we check out, which blew my mind, and I didn't know that.
Nearby activities: The area we chose was about 15 minutes away from everything that we wanted to do.

Had a reservation through Booking.com for a week-long stay. When I first arrived I checked whether I could use nfc payment, because I am waiting on replacement card for my primary account. They told me a physical card was required. No biggie--just had to go to an ATM to move $ to a different account. 30 minutes later, back to check in, the guy looked at my card & said they did not accept debut cards, only credit (I've never had this line drawn at a hotel before--maybe the deposit gets handled differently, but I've never encountered credit as a requirement.) I was told, produce a credit card or you can't stay here. Called up Booking.com to intervene. After front desk guy ignored their calls (but answered phone several times for other callers, and I confirmed the number was correct--no thanks to the emploee--when i asked him for the phone number to the hotel he works at, he claimed not to know what it was) Booking told me to alert him to an email he must respond to. He claimed to have no such email. The 2nd agent from booking got same stonewall from front desk, but went over his head to a senior contact who confirmed there was no such policy at this hotel. Front desk guy insisted there was, but when I questioned 3 other guests either checking in or already staying here, they all said they'd used debit cards for their stays. I don't know what singled me out for this sort of discrimination, but it's bullshit. It's a ghetto place in a bad neighborhood. Get over yourselves.

Room was good for the price, good AC unit, mine was clean but did have a few fruit flies I had to swat. Large fridge, microwave, coffee machine, and toaster were all included. Bed was fine BUT the pillows were odd, they gave me three square pillows which felt and looked more like pillow you put on the ends of a couch then proper bed pillows.
A minor issue I noticed was how much of their services was cash only. Laundry and all the vending machines and even the drinks in the lobby are all cash only with no ATM in sight. Ok, vending machines I can understand but no credit card for your own store in the lobby? Also vending machines have been integrating card readers for a while now to the point it's actually rare to see one without one so they should update those. BUT the weird thing is, when you go to pay for your rooms it's credit card only, no debit or cash. Very inconsistent.
The three major issues I had was 1. They lock the lobby at night, I guess they're worried about weird people HOWEVER the laundry room is unlocked 24/7, anyone from outside can take your laundry. 2. The fee's, there is a parking fee and security deposit, neither of which they are upfront about and they only mention during check-in. I am sure it is buried somewhere on their website that these fee's exist, but I care about intention not technicality, and the intention was obviously to hide the fee's. 3. They call themselves a "extended stay" hotel but force their guest to check in every 28 days so they can avoid paying taxes. This is called a "28 day shuffle" and it's illegal but they openly admit to doing it. I did not stay for 28+ days but I heard about this from the other guess and the staff didn't deny it, no shame. BUT if they do this to you, you're entitled to $500 per California Civil Code section 1940.1, something to keep in mind.
Every other issue I had was the following: No iron, I had a ironing board but no iron. The mirror had a hand print on it. The chairs they give you for the desk are rather uncomfortable. They give you a bunch of coat hangers...and no where to your clothes., there are only two hooks. My door did not lock behind me unless I pushed on it hard. The hotel is right near a very and VERY LOUD highway. The wifi cuts out randomly and sometimes becomes awfully slow for no seemingly no reason. The front desk only sells various cranberry drinks, everything else is at the vending machine. I saw some roaches outside the hotel, none INSIDE the hotel but one review did mention them getting into the room; I'd suggest trying to get a room on the second floor, just in case.
Yes the rooms are cheap and good for the price but I cannot abide how shady the company and staff act and I would not want to stay here for a extended stay out of fear they'd do something stupid.
