The main shopping street of Nevada City has a hand full of small quaint shops for your browsing pleasure, but the Victorian Christmas celebration in December moves it up many notches.

Stuart Baker views and treats homeless folks as human garbage. In his previous position in Berkeley he created a gang of former violent convicts risibly termed "Ambassadors" who made a point of harassing and menacing homeless folks, and on one occasion viciously beat a frail homeless man while he was on the ground, and lied about it until a video of the attack surfaced.Stuart Baker stood by the ambassador and used his influence to help him avoid prosecution! Just imagine the outrage from Baker if a homeless man attacked an "Ambassador" or Baker!!Baker also notoriously colluded with disgraced UCPD bike cop Sean Aranas who had so many civilian complaints and cost the university so much money and so tarnished their image they finally forced him to retire.Stuart Baker praised Aranas and lied that Aranas always spoke to and treated homeless folks with respect.Baker also no doubt facilitated more subtle violence via ordinance and zoning restrictions etc but, unlike his crude street-level violence of which I have evidence of and personal experience with, I can neither document nor detail it.So you've hired yourselves an outstanding person to promote business in your city, he surely won't be troubled or distracted by the civil/human rights of marginal folks.

Cute adorable looking town but I felt like it was the Bay Area in an old, mining town. Also all tourists... no real local flavor. So if you want to leave the Bay Area for a different environment but the same people, this is the place for you! Also, we were bored after a couple hours. Lots of shops and a few restaurants. Can walk through the town in about 10 minutes.

With the mayor telling residents of Nevada City to not wear masks, it sounds unsafe. I will not be going.

We send all of our Brides to the Chamber - they are a great place to start when "discovering" Nevada City! Our wedding couples tell us they got all the info they needed to contact vendors and lodging prior to their weddings here. If you are visiting for the first time, the NC Chamber of Commerce should be your first stop ~! The staff is GREAT and so HELPFUL....

? No in-town engaging activities.Recommended is not stopping to eat before you get to Nevada City, the quality of food seems to be better. But..."No" guide led DIY activities: painting, sculpture, carving, pottery, Christmas ornament making, wood block press art on T-shirts, building hot-melt and mini-light Christmas villages for under the Christmas tree, ... but none found here. No reason at all to come back.Nevada City is nice to visit, but I was bored ? in less than an hour and moved on. This is a shopping mall. A nice shopping mall, but we didn't buy anything. But it was nice to walk down and back on Main Street. But, nothing really to think about afterwards. Nothing worth mentioning more than in a trivial reply. "What did you do last weekend? Drove to Nevada City.
