Special thanks to Home Depot [Newark CA] Pro Desk Supervisor Mr. Mike Teixeira, and store manager Paul.As a local engineer and lifelong member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC), I wanted to say thanks again for the recent assistance with the (Table Saw) tool exchange. Nice to know there's a local supplier in the Fremont Area, who shows consideration to the professional builder.

I was at Home Depot in Newark, CA location this morning ( Thursday 10/15/2020) at 6.45 am to be exact.I was going to get a gallon of custom paint for my outdoor(patio door).I went to the paint department and showed my color chip to the staff.I explained to him that I would need a gallon of paint to match the color chip.He asked me..."is this something to step on?"..I explained again to him that I needed for outdoor Patio door. I even showed him a picture from my phone. Then he asked me.."do you need gloss or semi gloss?.I told him..this is for outdoor and I asked him to take a look at the wood chip I gave him( its the wood chip i got from the actual door). He still had no clue and gave me that disgusting look and talked with attitude. So i decided to walk away and went to Dale Hardware in Fremont, just about a mile away.At Dale, I went to the paint department and showed the same color chip to the staff (who is VERY friendly) and he suggested Flat finished and I got my paint (exact match ..just in a few minutes). What is wrong with Home Depot??. That really tells me how they hire their people. Not knowledgeable and dont even know basic customer service!!!To Home Depot managers...Please train your staff and try to learn to Dale Hardware where they hire people with knowledge and know about customer service.

Hardware stores have had special privileges by being "essential". Our experience today made us want to drop the plywood and run, when an employee kept passing us and interacting, with his nose out of his mask! This was not socially distanced, either. Saw several others doing likewise. The plexiglass barrier at self check is a joke if the employee is mingling with us to scan the wood in the cart. Sanitizing equipment not apparent. The employees in lumber had a snarky conversation with us over the choices of plywood thickness, saying 2 obviously different grades were the same. Spend time helping customers, not telling them they're stupid!! The cashier was also going to charge for a higher grade's price until we insisted she scan the UPC.

If you know where you are going and what you need, then Home depot is the place. Finding someone in the department you want material form, let alone someone that works in the same department is a hit and miss. Sometimes I feel like finding Waldo is easier.

We came to Home Depot because we had a screw that wouldn't come out of a camera. It felt almost hopeless that we couldn't get the screw out because we thought we stripped it and the screw was so small. When we asked for assistance Benny came to our aisle and saved the day! He was so nice and accommodating, he showed us which screwdriver we needed to get and he got the impossible screw out! He was so sweet and funny. I will be coming back to this establishment because of his astounding customer service. If possible, please give him a raise!! We need more people like Benny who are ready and happy to do their job.

I am writing this review right now at the Home Depot. I was asking that they have specific straps in front of the section and one of the staff don't even stop walking by and said that all materials should be that place. I have been to other Home Depot, all of the staff willing to help to find what I asked for.Updated: My dads just one of a guy staff and he helps and shows us.

Do not use HOME DEPOT!!!! Don't use their contractor!! Stay AWAY!I signed up for their Artificial lawn installation with Home depot and they contracted the work to a company call Astro Lawn. Its a complete crap job! i wasted thousand of dollar with them and they didn't dully responded to me until i filled a small claim court. my lawn looks like it was patched together, it wasn't even spread and puddle appear during raining seasons. Weeds are growing everywhere. I wouldn't let them to come to my house!

The worst customer service. Talked with 5 different associates and all just pointed me in the direction and still wasn't able to find my item. Kinda sucks when I'm looking up at their over stock for my own item and still no one helpful. Store manager needs to get these associates moral up because they all seem like they don't want to be there. Worst experience at a HomeDepot

This review is not necessarily about Home Depot but about the WONDERFUL customer service experiences had with one of the managers at the Newark location. Dena is such the professional, I had went in needing carpet and she walked me though the entire process. She gave me great suggestions to get carpeting for the beat price. She went over and beyond even as far as to call and follow up with me before and after installation. I really appreciate her sending over my paperwork in the mail with a handwritten note so I didn't have to go down myself to pick it up. Really great girl if you need anything for around the home DENA is your girl!

Extremely disappointed in HD right now, I went in and purchased a Refrigerator in May, it was backordered until this coming Monday June 15, just received an email that states backordered until June 30 now. Store employees told me Home Depot over sells its products, Im sorry WHAT, do you do this to make sales, cause if you do this is poor business practice! How does a company get away with selling more then they can deliver! how am I to know that my delivery won't be delayed

Arrived around 4:00pm and it was not to crowded. The parking lot always looks like it is busier than it is. Soon as you get close to entrance you can see Home Depot is taking all precautions for covid. The store was very clean and using to HD web site I found the tool I was looking for at location I was given. I was greeted and later was asked if I needed help and the cashier was very sweet. so the staff made me feel like I was a valued customer. This location, I have visited a number of times, has a great garden section and with all my visits they have not been out of stock on anything I was looking for.Great Store, Nice staff.Side note, all HD locations can great a little nuts early in the morning, all the contractors and crews getting supplies can make it busy fast. For Do it you're self home improvement jobs I suggest waiting till around 10:00am to get what you need.

I like going into the store and browsing but due to this quarantine/shelter in place, I've encountered lines out of the store since the weather has been fantastic. Luckily, they do have online ordering and curbside pick up. This has been my preferred method for Home Depot shopping. I can still browse online for products but it's not the same as smelling all the hardware, plants and other products lol. The store manager was very helpful as well. I did buy a new grill and upon installing found a dent on one of my pieces. The manager's email was on the grill with my order number so I reached out to her. She responded within a business day and resolved my issue. My last order didn't have the manager's email just the phone.Regardless, I love this place!
