I've been doing the boxing and muay thai here for almost 9 months now and it's been great. The coaches are all knowledgeable and the staff is very helpful/supportive. I mainly take the boxing class so I'll speak more about that. There are boxing classes for all age groups and skill levels. They have open sparring twice a week and there are some active amateur fighters training here so the sparring is good and technical. If you're not interested in sparring/competing the class is still a lot of fun and a great workout. Great place, would recommend!

I've been training with Anh for around 6 months and he is amazing. Anh is an incredible coach. He pushes you to your limit to make you better while providing positive encouragement. If you want to up your game he is the person to do it. Highly recommend.

Paid faithfully & on time every time for YEARS.. My cancelation was 3 days short of a 15 day notice and they charged me an extra month anyway. My daughter hasn't been going for months! They already got free money for months... so rude

I've been coming here on and off since May 2022, and I LOVE it! This is my first time joining a fitness club/attending classes (outside of 24 fitness) :} and I'm so glad I started at Koa (shout out Cedric!) Joining anything new can be intimidating, especially a fitness class. However, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE is SO nice and welcoming - Koa staff (morning and night), all the different coaches and other people attending the class. Anyone with any level of experience is welcome. You can ask anybody for tips and help, and they will patiently guide you! I usually join Boxing and Muay Thai. I have yet to join Yoga, and I'm trying Jiu-Jitsu for the first time ever tomorrow :)

I’ve taken everything from the Boxing, to the Muay Thai, to the CrossFit classes at Koa Fitness. You won’t find a better place, with great coaches and a clean facility, for your fitness training needs.

Review of Muay Thai Only. This is one of largest gyms in the bay area. The facility is kept clean and all the equipment is also well maintained. The staff are friendly and informative. MT sparring is available almost every day. Which is a huge plus; relative to other gyms sparring is only available 2 days a week at most. The MT instructor teaches traditional MT which incorporates elbows, knees, and clinch. This is important as many other gyms teach more of a kickboxing style. The pad work is cardio intensive, yet also incorporates practical techniques for those looking to be competitive. The other customers at the gym are all friendly and encouraging. Whether you are looking for cardio intensive work out or a place to learn MT techniques at a competitive level this is the place to go to.

I've been coming into the Crossfit classes since July 2021. The crossfit coach Thomas is super personable and really takes the time to get to know your strengths and areas of growth and recommends the proper modifications or scaling for whatever the workout is that day. The crossfit area is in the back of the gym and there is a good amount of space dedicated to us, although most of the space is dedicated to the fighting sports. The owners have also invested a lot into the crossfit side of things with new equipment being purchased regularly. If you're thinking about starting crossfit or just want to workout in a class setting, you won't find a more welcoming coach an community than here!

Never say never. I have been active all my life but I have never been a get up early and go exercise person. I also was out of commission for 5 years after the birth of my son, now 6 years old, and my twins, now 4 years old. The labor and delivery of the twins was quite traumatic, leaving both twins in the NICU, and I was hospitalized for two weeks due to complications. After that, it was survival mode and exercise was the last thing on my mind. Finally in December 2019, I knew I needed something to uplift me, and so I began trying out different exercise spots, not easy during the pandemic! Finally on April 5, 2021, I walked into KOA and found CrossFit and Coach Thomas Wu. The very first day I met Coach Thomas, I knew instantaneously that he was going to be a great coach. By the week's end, he exceeded my expectations. He gives positive reinforcement to every single student in his classes, and as needed provides help and extra support. Every morning he is up at 5AM to coach his one of many classes throughout the day. Not a day goes by where he does not come to class without a smile and an aura that illuminates positivity. He is always encouraging and supportive no matter what level his students are at or how long of a day he has had. He is an exemplary model of what we want every instructor to be like. His heart is always in the right place, and the patience he has to work with all students, but especially those who need extra support, is admirable and inspiring. His authenticity shines through, and when in his classes, every student is supported and checked in on. I never thought I would ever join CrossFit, and now I can't imagine ever going without it. I do my best to come to Coach Thomas' 6AM class Monday - Friday because after every single class, without fail, having the CrossFit work out and an instructor like Coach Thomas guiding and supporting you, I am able to start my mornings feeling amazing, positive, uplifted, energized, and ready for what the day brings. The 9AM Saturday classes are a great way to start your weekend and are always fun when we partner up! CrossFit is not just what I do now; CrossFit is a part of my life. Never say never.

As someone with a desire to properly learn martial arts and ultimately compete, I value high quality instruction and a strong community. My KOA coaches and teammates make this gym the best place to support my growth, in both competition and life. This gym has easily become my second home and family since moving to the Bay Area. Highly recommend checking it out!

The KTA CrossFit program here is very well run, and I would recommend it to anyone. The entire coaching staff is highly knowledgeable and provides a great environment. The coaching you get isn't just a scenario where you'll be left to your own devices but will have knowledgeable professionals who can help you learn the required movement patterns and stay safe while going through your workouts. On top of all this, very thoughtful programming is done which will help people at any level of fitness reach their goals. The gym itself is a clean and open space with staff available to help with inquiries. All in all, the gym, coaches, and community all create a great environment for anyone to improve their fitness.

Great fitness programming for all levels of ability and experience. The CrossFit coaches aim at helping each individual succeed at their fitness goals and the community is both welcoming and supportive.
