My wife and I spent an afternoon with the salespeople at Winn Kia and had an excellent experience with the entire team. The team was pleasant to work with, and accommodating to our specific needs. We had a sense they were honest, fair, and concerned for our well being. I felt a bit guilty because my wife pushed a hard bargain. We had been to four other dealerships before coming to this one and felt completely satisfied buying a car here.
It was easy to schedule an appointment. When we arrived, Thomas took an inventory of our interests: compact hybrid suv, leaning new, but open to used, depending on the value; needed safety features, such as blind spot and cross traffic warnings; and would be nice to have parking sensors but expect the highest trim to be out of our range; preferably white. We wondered whether white was worth the $400 premium, and he let us see several new blue Sportage vehicles. He explained KIA used different shades of colors for each model of car they sold. He narrowed down our search to a new 2025 Sportage EX and a certified pre-owned 2022 Sportage EX with under 15,000 miles. He patiently walked us through the car menus and buttons and he showed us the features and differences of each car. He gave us ample time to ask questions, in particular showing us the nuances of the back seats, rear view camera, and power tailgate. We were a bit nervous to drive the new cars, so he let us be passengers on a test drive.
I asked whether all KIA used cars sold by dealerships were certified and he said it was something new this dealership started the past few months. I thought that it was a great service, because having the balance of a 10 year/100,000 mile drive train warranty certainly brought me peace of mind shopping for a used car. I asked why the miles were so low and he explained the car was coming off a lease, and the previous owner worked from home during the pandemic, and traded in for a new car.
After we were shown the customary wrap around service and maintenance contracts, my wife asked the salesman, "what would you recommend for your wife"? He said the two contracts worked well together, but he admitted he might pass on the costly service contract. He did explain what kind of discount packages he could work out for us and what might be harder. With the certified preowned drive train warranty covering the most expensive repairs, we initially opted out of the service contract.
Tony helped us to finalize the details of the sale. First, he arranged the paperwork so my wife could quickly sign and leave to pick up our son from school. He helped to clarify details such as exact purchase dates and warranty expiration dates. Seeing how soon our 5 year service warranty would expire, he helped us to arrange a wrap around service contract that made sense. He was patient as we called the bank to arrange payment and he eventually gave me a drive to the bank to make a cashier's check. He then introduced me to the service team and invited me to call with any questions I had. So overall great service and caring to ensure our needs were met.
Compare to Dealer B, who insists "the 2025 Sportage is the best selling car in our inventory, it is nearly impossible to find, and we are asking $6000 more than MSRP, and we will not bother to show you features or let you test drive, and we don't want to let you to leave until we have a deal." As if customers have no internet and are helpless in the "capitol of silicon valley"
Edit: driving around, I noticed the miles per gallon efficiency was lower than I expected for a hybrid. It dawned on me that we bought a 2022 Sportage, while the hybrid version was released in 2023. So we got a gas car, when we thought we bought a hybrid. Instead of getting a great deal, I would say we got a fair deal. I will attribute this mistake to my inexperience (should have asked for the original Monroney window sticker) and my shopping fatigue. I would

BEWARE: "EasyBuy" Scam. Quoted me MSRP for cash purchase. When I got there, they said that price only applied if I were financing. Very dishonest. Don't let them waste your time with their SleazyBuy scams.

One of the worst salespeople I have met. I made an appointment with Carlos to test drive and checkout a car. He was rushing thru and madd me uncomfortable. He kept repeating to me at least 4 times- “I’m a new employee her, we have customers waiting, we sold a 3 of this car yesterday”. Instead of selling the car, he wanted me to beg for a car or get a hell out. For god sake I had an appointment and you can’t even honor that? I had to cut short the appointment and exit from there. Hayward and Dublin KIA have professional sales people.

I purchased a new 2025 Kia K5 GT-Line from Winn Kia of Fremont and am so glad I did. The K5 is the best car I have ever owned, honest. The ride is smooth, seats are firm and supportive, safety features are many, exterior look is stunning and the price is right. My Saleslady was very respectful and friendly. Her Manager was able to negotiate a great deal for me. Especially liked how I was able to get a discount for my Military Service. Most dealerships don’t offer such a discount. Glad Winn Kia did. I strongly recommend going to Winn Kia’s website to see the deals they offer. You will find they have better deals than the competition here in the Bay Area.
