Overpriced. Charged me $18 for only nail color change on my hands.. normal color not even gel.Sad thing is that is chapped the 2nd day after my shower. Quality of the top coat wasnt that great, usually it lasts for at least 6 days. Disappointing, wouldnt come again.

Attached are photos of the ombré dip manicure I requested at Blu Nail Bar vs the atrocious mess I was left to deal with right before a holiday weekend. Not only was the ombré barely visible, but the dip powder was so thick and unsightly, making my nails look completely deformed and bubble-like. I informed the nail technician that I was unhappy with the shape, and also that I work in health care and cannot have the length of my nails extend past my skin. Instead of following through with my request, the technician told me that "ombré doesn't look good on short nails". I asked her two additional times to correct the shape of my nails, and both of those requests were once again ignored. To make things worse, I was sitting down for nearly 2 hours and didn't even have my hands moisturized or my cuticles cleaned up/pushed back. This is not what I expected from one of the nicest nail bars in OC. After providing these photos to management, they initially asked if I'd be interested in going back to have my dip re-done, but they later stopped responding to my messages. The 1-star rating I provided is extremely generous considering the service I received. I would give negative stars if I could.

I love Blu Nail Bar! They are so clean and professional. I always see Stella for dip powder nails and she does a fantastic job! I have never been able to grow my nails very long, but now they are long, strong, and healthy since I've started dip. I highly reccomend this place.

I've been a client of Blu Nail Bar and Sa for years when it was Happy Nails and so happy they moved into their new luxurious space and rebranded to Blu! Yesterday I met and experienced the absolute best nail technician Julie!! Not only is she just a lovely person, her work is phenomenal. She is extremely talented, patient, detail oriented and exceeded my expectation. Showed her a pic of a French ombré look which she customized to my nail bed and hands flawlessly!! I'm her customer for life now!! Don't waste your time with anyone else-Julie's the best!!

If this review was for Julie I would give it 5 stars. Everyone else gets 2 stars. I came in on my lunch to get my nail fixed and Ruby (I believe was her name) was complaining to me about how she left her customer to come help me. I told her the nail shE was fixing was cut too short and she gave me attitude. I am posting a picture of what it looks like so you know I'm not exaggerating. After months of coming here I no longer will be coming here. Love you Julie! On top of that...I made an appointment at 4pm and it is 4:30...they still haven't finished fixing my nail... I updated my review to 1 star because NO ONE ever came to fix my nail so I'm walking bacK into work with my nails looking like thIs. I am posting on all social media about how horrible the service here is along with making sure everyone I know avoids coming here.

BEWARE! I experienced repeated dishonesty, unorganized and unqualified management and staff. I was subjected to a pattern of unsanitary and unsafe practices despite managements awareness including double dipping of dip powder which has been banned in 30 states for a reason (if you don't believe me research it for yourself.) I experienced many communication issues with many of the staff not speaking English well which compounded my grievances. I after the fact learned that Happy Nails Salon is camouflaged with the new Blu name which is seemingly very misrepresentive if the truth. Check their other reviews under Happy Nails: Hundreds of awful reviews. I wish I had before I gave them my time and business as I ended up with painful nails, infection, bad work which was done improperly and thinly to seemingly cut corners, save time, product and get them on to the next client causing me to be ripped off repeatedly and I regret giving them many chances to do what should have been done right the first time. Never again and I urge others to be careful and do your own due diligence and research into them. Management please do not attempt to reply to seem conscientious. I gave you multiple opportunities to address and correct your dishonest staff who subjected me to infection, bad work repeatedly, product pumping and a lot of wasted time, aggravation and money including wasted and very expensive uber rides after being bounced to another city and location to correct work that still was improper and unsafe their too. Management: If you truly want to remedy this, require your staff to follow proper health codes, require your staff to speak English and understand English fully, require your staff to be qualified and I mean really qualified not just who will work at the rate you're willing to pay them which comes at a cost to the customers, require honesty from your staff at all times and follow up on this. Be in integrity. The reason your ratings elsewhere under prior names are so low and in my experience, deserved, is because you have not done this and a new name and new tenant improvements will not correct this and front desk management in a last ditch effort to dodge accountability with blaming customers as they attempted to do to me is only further evidence of how mishandled the establishment is. I was bounced around between both this and Holly and Hudson of Irvine which is in an entire different city also owned by them as I was told a simple ombré pink and white dip aka french fade or baby boomer dip set is very hard and only 1 technician of all their stores could do it, which speaks volumes to the inadequacy of the staff and managements allowance of this caliber of work and this review goes for that facility as well. Based on my experience I also believe many positive reviews are fake based on out of area locations and redundant photos of work by their own staffs profile and more. Mai and associates: You have forever lost my trust and business. The Department of Consumer Affairs and other governing agencies and consumer protection services need to step in.

It's about time I write a review. I have been getting my nails done at Blu Nail since it was Happy Nails in Fashion Island. Everyone is really amazing, you can't go wrong if you are just a walk in. However, since Blu Nails' grand opening, I was first assigned Vicky (for Pedicure) and Jolie (for manicure), and they did such a good job that I just call and book them for appointments. Vicky is so diligent, and cares for my toes really well. My pedicure lasts up to 8 weeks, or more, and Jolie is just as diligent with my manicure and does an amazing job as well. It's also a bonus that they are both really nice and pleasant. I will attach a recent manicure Jolie did on me (French style with gel). Thank you guys!

Avoid this place, unless you speak the language. First, we ended up getting there a few minutes early this morning as they were opening. The door was open and we walked in, there were a few women in there setting things up, but nobody took a second to greet us in any way. No Hello, or We'll Be Right With You or Welcome...nothing. So, we gave them the benefit of the doubt about going there, assuming we were early and walked around the mall outside for a few minutes and came back. Even when we came back...nothing. They were busy doing nothing. There were some others waiting by that time and none of us knew if they knew we were alive. Finally, somebody gestured for us to come back to sit in a couple of nail chairs next to each other. As a guy, my wife talks me into getting a pedicure every once in a while. I tell them I just want the $31 pedicure and they nod, I assume they understand. I asked if the callous remover is extra and I really didn't get an answer, just a blank look. My wife talks slowly to them, as if that would make them understand better, "He...just...wants...a...pedicure. Is...Callous...Remover...included?" No real response one way or the other. Then they start bringing towels for the armrest as if to prepare for a manicure. That was enough for me. I pulled my feet out of the water and begin to put my flip flops on and there is all of a sudden a bustle of activity to try to get me to stay, but I was done. Do yourself a favor and hire at least one employee who speaks english! Have somebody greet people with a smile and a hello when they walk in. I don't know why I'm wasting my time writing this, it's not like they're going to be able to read this.

I love going to Blu so much! The service is amazing and the technicians are so friendly and professional! I went here with my sister and we both agreed that the technicians did great jobs on both our manicures and pedicures. 10/10 would recommend!
