Gorgeous hotel and lovely staff. Updated windows (for noise reduction) and a lighted make up mirror would improve the rooms.

Rude valet guy told me I was going the wrong way and told me to go the other way when I first got there. Room was far away and seemed very old. Didn't have a close up mirror in the bathroom. This hotel gives fancy motel vibes. No elevator and nobody to take my luggage so had to carry it upstairs. Tried to buy sunscreen from the lobby store and was told I couldn't. Had to wait for someone else to check me out so I just left. All around bad. Will never stay here again.

Besides the FACT that much of the hotel is terribly old, rundown, and even decrepit in some areas, (of course they don't show you those pictures online), the customer service was far worse. If anyone from corporate would like to verify this information, we'd be happy to list the details and exact times (there were 2 in one day) and date of our terrible, inconsiderate and unprofessional treatment from a front desk clerk and two general managers. It should be easy to verify the information from the surveillance cameras. If necessary, I can offer the names of the very rude managers. Additionally, I can give names of the people who witnessed the confrontation and their contact information. To anyone considering staying at this hotel, our advice is DON'T! It could potentially ruin your stay as well.

My review is ONLY regarding their venue for concerts. We had an incident during a Colbie Caillat concert that security and hotel personnel did not manage well. We paid for VIP experience pre show and it was amazing! As the concert starts and goes on about halfway through these groups of 3 men in their 50s tried to sit in our seats as we are standing in front. They said we are standing and I said but they are our seats and we can stand or sit. Our seats were aisle. One guy stood right in front of me to where I can smell is hair. So I stood next to him and said hey I’m standing here. He says well guess it’s going to be a pushing concert and shoves me. My spouse shoved him back and said go get security. I run to get security and they said we will be there soon. 10 min later nothing. The guy seems to go away but his friends were still standing right next to our seats. They were calling us names, cussing, being really loud. Other people around us were telling them to quiet down. So I get up again to get security. 5 min later we tell them to please stop. 2nd guy shoves my spouse down falling into the chairs so I stand up and push him back. Then our neighboring people held the men back and security finally came. We were told they were escorted out. 5 min later the 3rd guy was still around and was still saying stuff. We left the concert early because we were just overwhelmed and scared for our safety. When we were walking we saw the violent guy still there, he mouthed meet you in the parking lot. We told security and the hotel personally all they said was go the other way and he won’t follow you. That was it. This entire experience was unbelievable. How could they let something like this happen. It was a Colbie caillat concert, unbelievable.

Go Martin! Best customer service person. Helped me a few times during my stay. Beautiful facility, location, service.
Nearby activities: As in all of Southern California, car required. Location just off PCH. Grabbed a bicycle from rec department and took off property. Balboa, Newport, Fashion Island close by. For Natural setting, hiking in the back bay.
Food and drinks: Drinks bar food and breakfast for me. All good!
Noteworthy details: Perched on cliff overlooking the Back Bay, visually pretty. Back bay with plenty of hiking trails, so worth it. Pet friendly as i saw peeps with leased dogs

Stayed here for a week, and the stay overall was a good experience. We started by being helped by the valet team to help park the car. It's $40 per day to park it yourself or $50 per day for valet with unlimited use. the staff were super friendly, and the bar area was lively in the evenings. They had a small shop to buy drinks and snacks. Room service was quick but expensive. We had a Seaview room, which was huge. Great king-sized bed with a bath/shower room. The decor is a bit dated, so don't expect a modern setup, but it was more than comfortable for business.

Stunning property! Great choice for your visit to Newport Beach. If you’re a World of Hyatt member, book with points. They made our trip extra special by upgrading us. Nice location, walking distance to Balboa Island and a short drive to Fashion Island. Best part was the staff - friendly and helpful! Special shoutout to John who checked us in and gave us the best recommendations. We’ll be back!
If I had to nitpick, complimentary bikes were difficult to ride and in need of an upgrade.

Warning!!!! There were 3 couples in the the hot tub that all had the same situation. We booked a hotel room at the Newport Beach hyatt on the beach but were were all at the airport West one. They call it new port west but its not even close to New port, they make it seem that your going to the beach. Scam alert, very deceptive

Cockroach’s and ants in my room !
Duration:
11 nights
Price:
5.100 USD
Staff:
Friendly and helpful when it comes to food and drinks but the reception could have made more of an effort when we had ants, cockroaches and a vibrating fan that was disturbing our sleep.
Room:
I stayed in a room looking over the big pool, It was run down I had ants in the room and a small cockroach, they compt me 100 dollars on a 5000 dollar bill for that….
The shower was really dirty!
Bad water pressure in the shower from the shower head.
There was also a fan mounted on the roof of the building and since I was in the second floor it was right over my room, it makes so much noise when everything else is quiet and it vibrates through the wooden headboard.
I informed the staff but nothing changed.
Over all the room is not worthy of Hyatt it’s more a motel vibe and needs a huge update.
There is also a 1-2 inch gap at the bottom of the door where sound light and small insects gets in to the room.
Common areas:
The fire pits are nice
Pool areas are okay but the hot tubs only ejects water on one side the other side is broken.
Bar was good and the snacks also
Location:
It is okay, you have the beach and balboa island very near.
Cleaning:
The shower was really dirty with mould or grime and dirt, see the picture and look at the stain!
Also when checking out, they did not ask how my stay was, I feel that they should because it is still a Hyatt.
Rooms: Bad standard and dirty.
