Fantastic Service at U-Haul Service Location I had an amazing experience at this U-Haul service location! The person with long hair provided exceptional service. He was incredibly helpful, making the entire process fast and efficient. He even took the time to show us the way of exit. I was amazed at his attention to detail and care for customers. When I absentmindedly left my key in the truck, he not only kept it safe but also returned it to me with a smile. I genuinely appreciate the outstanding service. I have my reservation at 7:30 am on a truck at the campus drive location which was not open until 9:00 am. It is unprofessional for a big company like U-Haul from which I certainly expect more. The experience was subpar and frustrating, causing my moving schedule to be delayed and affected greatly. My reservation of the elevator at my building was canceled and it costed me the cancellation fee. AVOID business with them would be smart. Staff at the customer service and the Costa Mesa location were both really nice and helpful though. Hence it’s not a one-star review.

The customer service was literally offensive. I cannot believe management would allow the young men who "helped" me to treat customers the way they did. I arrived to pick up the van I paid to reserve, only to find out it wasn't available, I was very kind about the massive inconvenience and they offered me a larger truck which I felt uncomfortable driving and they sent me to another location. When I got back in my car to go to the other location, my friend who had volunteered to help me explained she was on a time crunch and assured me driving the larger truck would be ok and if I couldn't do it she could. I went back in and relayed this to the young man; he was so put out and flat out told me I was "lying" about my friend among several other extremely rude comments. I am a professional woman, renting this truck for business, the fact he had the nerve to say this to any paying customer is absolutely beyond me. It was ridiculous and the managers of this location should be ashamed. The other young man upon my return was also less than impressive, rude, listless and unhelpful. Hoping in the future something with the location changes for the better.

I was told by the UHaul phone line I would be able to return any unused boxes and supplies to this location. I was also told they would check my car trailer hitch to make sure it was suitable to tow one of their trailers. I drove to this location and was barely greeted by the 3 people just standing around in the office. When I explained why I was there a young guy, Jesse, told me that no they would not allow any supplies to be returned and they also would not look at my trailer hitch. Very rude with a smirk. Turns out that guy is the manager! Beware. I went down the road to the Newport UHaul on Newport Blvd and they were very professional and helpful. No question about my returning the unused items.

Horrible.I rented out a uhaul and set up pick up for after hours.They lock the trailer and email you the code to unlock the uhaul so u can access the key.Well, unfortunately they gave me the wrong code for the lock which forced me to cancel and delay my move and i had to pay the movers. So I had to go back on Sunday and even the employee couldn’t unlock the truck for me. And it took about 30 min for them to access the correct code to unlock the trailer.I complained, and the front desk girl that was working that morning said she would credit me back $50 and it would be added to my card. It is now SEPTEMBER 16 and still no refund !!!!!Someone needs to call me ASAP!

This company is a joke. I book a truck in 2 weeks advance to make sure I have how kove my stuff and they just send me an email telling they canceled!!! ?????? Why???? Don't use that company guys!!!

Eli was the associate that helped me out on both occasions that I stopped by. With only one employee working she was very busy and made sure to acknowledge every customer as they came in the door. My complaint wouldn't be for the in person experience it would be to make uhaul's website not explaining that there isn't any reservations for the day I needed. Eli made my experience easier and explained to me the discrepancies between the website and in store. She took her time and didn't rush me through the process. Very helpful, kind, and busy!
