Superb bankers in every way that care about you and it shows.Umpqua, bar-none, is the best commercial bank I have ever done business with.

Stay away from this bank and the one they merged with, Columbia Bank. The worst customer service ever from any financial institution. 45 minutes on hold just to get some account information, with no results. My money is going elsewhere.

I have not had a single positive interaction in my dealings with Umpqua Bank. I have been continually told I am late on my loan payments, EVEN THOUGH I have the bank records that prove the payments were made ON TIME. When I have called the bank to question the discrepancy, the customer service people have been less than knowledgeable and completely useless. And, I am really trying not to make this about the individuals, but stay focused on the inadequacies of the bank's ability to competently service their loan products. I have waited over 1 hour on the phone trying to reach someone that can research the issue. Bottomline, Umpqua Bank does not care about the customers they have, they don't care about the quality of their customer service, they only care about signing you on. Once you're signed on as customer, that's the last positive experience you will dealing with Umpqua Bank. I truly wish I had reasons to write a positive review for Umpqua Bank, but I don't. You have now heard of my experiences with the bank and I hope it will give you some insight to what you can expect as a customer of Umpqua Bank.

I thoroughly enjoy being an Umpqua bank customer. At this particular branch I am grateful for people like Tyler who go above and beyond for customers. Every request has always been assisted and even minutes before closing I have never been turned away. I am grateful for the wonderful customer service.

I usually don't like going to banks, or even calling banks, because it takes forever and then tellers usually rush me. However, the staff at this location are very friendly and welcoming. I never once felt like my questions were stupid. Tyler was very patient with me. Not to mention how quickly I got through! I look forward to coming back for all my banking needs.

If I could give the branch at 4040 MacArthur, Newport Beach a zero ratings I would. There is a man at the front teller desk name Tyler who has got to be one of the worst employees I've ever interacted with at any business. He should be kept 100 miles away from any customer.without going into the details just trust me, he's a train wreck and honestly ought to be fired.But there is a manager named Stacy, and she was pretty good tried to come to the rescue but the damage is already been done. And then once she walked away the ridiculous customer treatment from Tyler continued.

Service and bank is great, just when driving in do not go to the Hyundai capital building as maps says. Go around to the street entrance when you can see the Umpqua sign. Hours are rough too, check em before you go in case they are closed for lunch or Tuesday or Thursday. Please like this review and follow me if you find helpful.

Based on my experience with credit card processing I wouldn't go near this bank. Horrible dishonest company, I cancelled months ago and ONE MORE TIME they've billed me monthly processing. Horrible, dishonest company.

This is my recommendation to Small business owners:"If you are a small business owner in SOCAL, DONOT Bank with UMPQUA bank" .I recently opened a business checking account with Umpqua Bank in Newport Beach. Stacy is very nice, friendly and helpful. I selected Umpqua Bank because of her. She offers personalized services which I really appreciated..Unfortunately the bank has a lot of limitations in Orange County California. The Newport Beach branch only has two employees and is not open during weekends. The branch is closed for lunch from 12 noon to 1 pm. So the total bank operating hours is 35 hours per week.I had a lot of problem with my ATM cards. After multiple phone calls we resolved the problem. Problem was, The Umpqua bank employee who set up my account used the land line number instead of a cell phone, so I could not receive verification code to activate my card and I had no idea about that .Since the bank has limitation , they use US Bank ATM machines . On Thursday Afternoon, the US bank ATM in Tustin rejected my ATM Card and I was unable to make deposit .On Friday afternoon, I made a deposit of 4 checks at US bank Branch in Yorba Linda California . The US Bank ATM machine took $2800 the deposit and returned my card. The deposit never reached to my account but the money was deducted from the payees account . It was Friday afternoon, I contacted my branch . From the two employees , one was on vacation and the other one wanted to go home early (I guess) and she clearly did not care about what ever I explained to her . I felt would I have died on the phone she would not take her time to call 911 :) . US Bank employees has no knowledge about the banking relationship with Umpqua Bank. After staying on phone for a long time, I finally opened a dispute with Umpqua Bank , informed the branch manager about the problem, sent multiple emails , and receive a dispute number. In-spite of all my efforts informing the bank about the deposit problem, my account went negative in balance and I was charged for multiple over draft fee and one of my checks was rejected.On Monday , I made a follow up call to Umpqua bank. I talked to my branch manager and she clearly admitted that the bank has multiple limitations in SOCAL. I called Umpqua Bank 866 number . The person who answers the phone could not find any records of any of my communication nor the deposit . She did not even know that Umpqua bank is in affiliation with US bank.I talked to a supervisor. She was nice enough to send me an email with the record of the dispute . She also informed me that the dispute process takes about 10 business days(Two weeks) . It is necessary to mention that UMPQUA bank mobile deposit system has so many limitations too. Example each deposit should not exceed $5000 and the weekly max is $15,000.00 All these problems over a simple deposit transaction. Will you do bank with UMPQUA Bank if you were a small business owner in SOCAL?

I have been a customer for quite a few years. Our needs changed and my account went unused for a number of years. The bank wrote to me advising the status, but none of the options mentioned closing the account and mailing a check for the balance. I wrote back requesting the account be closed and a check for the balance. The bank acknowledged my change of address and nothing else.

I opened a personal account at this bank. I had my finance manager wire 1 wire to be sure the numbers were fine. He wired 3 wires by mistake. The bank froze the account. They said a lot of fraud occurs with wires. I said are you insinuating something? Eventually they had to pay the money from the account. I filed a complaint with corporate and the OCC. Whatever is going on in banking in California is wrong. Conclusions are formed without any prior evidence or consideration of their wrong assumptions. Even under federal law they are not acting in a professional manner. I sure hope someone wakes them to their stupid procedures of telling me what a scam is when I am not stupid and don't play with such garbage. The laws of banking need to be changed with banks held more accountable for their actions of closing accounts at any will they please. Don't open the account if you can't handle you have to work for a living for the client. In my opinion.
