Bombay Beach Ruins is a unique and intriguing destination that combines art, history, and a distinctive atmosphere. Located along the shoreline, this place features abandoned structures and eclectic art installations created from locally sourced junk, showcasing the talent and creativity of the artists behind them. Visitors often find the site both eerie and beautiful, with its unusual art fixtures providing excellent opportunities for photography and exploration. The area has a somewhat mysterious vibe, and some visitors notice a smell near the water, which is generally mild and not a major concern. The shoreline can be deep and wet, so caution is advised for those walking close to the water or driving in the sand, as vehicles can get stuck. The site also has several access points to the beach, and some areas even accommodate campers, with cell signal available. Over time, the shoreline has receded quickly, adding to the sense of change and impermanence that defines Bombay Beach. Overall, it is a place that offers a one-of-a-kind experience, blending abandoned structures, quirky art, and a sense of adventure—perfect for those seeking a memorable, unconventional visit and a chance to capture creative photos.
Great local art installation and residential ruins, save the Salton Sea

Totally underrated place, off the map. It's a bit of a drive to get here from the I-10, but if you have the time, definitely worth the detour. I've never seen anything like it. It was like a post-apocalyptic place, but in an artsy and uniquely beautiful way. Going there at sunset is very cool.
