“Great friendly service at C B Hood. I needed a simple bracelet adjustment on a vintage watch that I had recently purchased. After leaving another jewelry store in the area, because they wanted to charge $100 for the same adjustment. The employees at C B Hood Diamond Co took the watch and within 30 seconds had completed the sizing. I didn’t know and had never been to C B Hood before , but their friendly smiles and attentive service was a refreshing change. I will definitely return when I have the opportunity.”

“This place is really down the rabbit hole. Entering from Branch street, you need to go downstairs like a rabbit. You emerge in a large, somewhat underground interesting antique shop. There's something for everyone. If you don't want to use the front stairs down the rabbit hole, feel free to walk in the ground level entrance in the back where there is a parking lot in case street parking on Branch street is full. Either way it's worth the visit.”

I was able to get a few of my dress pants altered , rented a tux and was also able to purchase items for my sons baptism for a very good price. The lady who helped me was super nice and was also very patient! I’m super indecisive so it helped that she wasn’t giving me attitude. The owner was very attentive and was also able to offer me something great for my budget. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for quality at an affordable price.”

“I have been a customer here since moving back to Santa Maria from The Bay Area in 2019. The staff has always been very friendly, accommodating, courteous, patient and understanding. They have always been fair and extremely transparent about the current rates as we know the prices of precious metals on the market is constantly changing.
I have NEVER had a bad or negative experience as a customer while utilizing their services. I think I have dealt with and worked with almost every employee and have always had top notch and amazing interactions and customer service.
In reading some of these negative reviews and responses it is quite clear and plain to see where majority of the problem lies. In my opinion it is definitely not the staff. You can tell by the tone of the comments, grammar and punctuation. That in itself says a lot about the people commenting in their reviews. Some of these people need to understand you’re in the loan business. Not Tool Time Tim working at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Also just because an item is a top name brand designer doesn’t mean you’re always going to get TOP dollar especially if it’s jewelry. Jewelry loans are based off many other factors besides Brand name.
Keep up the GREAT work and customer service it is greatly appreciated especially In today’s personal and public climate that the world is dealing with.

“After 34 years of marriage, I wanted to have my 1990's, yellow gold wedding setting updated. Because my setting was already very unique, I definitely wanted to keep the same basic design of it. I assumed that I'd have to go to LA at some point to have this done but then I heard about Craig Boisvert, a winning designer over at Carats to Karat in Nipomo AND his amazing work is done IN HOUSE!! Fast forward to today, February 13th, I just picked up my finished master piece and I honestly haven't taken it off my finger. Craig did exactly what I had envisioned and it turned out even better that I had imagined. This was a huge deal for me and after putting it off for so long, I am just so thrilled to have my new ring. Mary, the owner of Carats to Karat is wonderful too, I always feel so comfortable when I enter this store. Now that I have found my new local Jewelry store and jewelry designer, I can't wait to have more fabulous piece made. Who would have thought that this Gem was in my own backyard, No Pun intended :)
