About Oso Flaco Beach
Oso Flaco Beach is a beautiful and pure natural place far from the city, considered a gem. Access involves a roughly 40-minute walk from the parking lot, about 1 mile on a paved trail and boardwalk to the beach, making a 2-mile round trip. The path is mostly easy for strollers and wheels, although the boards are uneven in places. The parking lot can fill on weekends, but roadside parking is available. A day use fee of $5 per vehicle applies.
The area features stunning sand dunes, lakes, flora, and excellent wildlife. From an observation point on the boardwalk, visitors can view the ocean, beach, and dunes. To reach the water requires walking 5-600 feet through deep sand past the trail's end. The beach itself is nice and very sandy. To the left, a shallow stream empties into the ocean, which small children can cross to access miles of beach; the area to the right is off-limits. It is a great place for walking, relaxing, enjoying the landscape, and even sand surfing. Pit toilets are located near the parking area and trail. Note that dogs are not permitted.

It is about 40min walk from the parking lot to oso flaco lake to the beach. Enjoyed the walk and beach was nice too. Very sandy because of sand dunes
