Horrible! Worst banking customer service ever...rude, no idea how to talk to customers. Phone customer service; nasty! They call themselves a "community" bank, well maybe they should hire people who know how to treat customers. If they don't like you or how you talk or what you ask them in the way of questions, they'll just hang up on you. Can't believe their customer service people actually get paid to be so uneducated!

My 17 yr old granddaughter came into a lit of money via a trust fund. She naturally wanted to start a checking account. She and I wanted her to bank somewhere new and not at either one of my banks. (She's trying to be completely independent) She had $6500.00 in cash and a check for $500,000.00 and will be getting a $500,000.00 check every 6 months for the next 2 1/2 years, total of $3,000,000.00. I took her into this bank and they wouldn't let her start a checking account because I didn't have one there. So someone has to have an account there to set up a minors checking account, a trustee account? This is their policy? They must not want anyone's money. She wanted me to tell the the amount she was depositing and the future deposits "because they might do it then". I said ABSOLUTELY NOT. Because I'm sure they would have given her one had they known. Very petty and I will go out of my way to prevent ANYONE from banking there. It's their loss! I should have insisted she bank at WF or Chase in the 1st place...the only banks I will ever bank at. What a disappointment but... It turned out to be the best for her. Sorry Mechanics... You really screwed yourself, not us!

The team here at Mechanics Bank are always very friendly and efficient. They have always been courteous and thorough. I appreciate the time they take in assuring they help you completely with no unanswered questions you might have had.

Very distressing not to be able to contact the new Mechanics Bank that bought out Rabobank. None of their communication systems are working. Looking at their FB page, it seems this is SOP when they take over another bank, dropped calls, un-returned emails, phone systems down. I called my branch twice from two different numbers and it doesn't even ring through. Nothing but standard boilerplate "please forgive the wait" messages on their corporate numbers. Exploring other banking options.

I've been banking here since Mid State Bank. Open my first account in 1962. I work with the Arroyo Grande Branch & Nipomo Branch. Always treated well when I go in. Only once one of the ATMs didn't work, but the other worked. They give my dog a treat when I use the drive up. Hope the Mechanics Bank will be as good.

I have had nothing but trouble with the outdoor ATMs at this location and so has my husband. They always seem to be down and when you want money on the weekend, like my husband does, as he heads out of town to work on Monday, this is an inconvenience. Their ATMs ask so many questions you are about ticked off with them asking them. They used to be open on the weekends at the drive up but that hasn't happened for many years now. Also, tried to deposit a $14 check made payable to my husband in my account and they didn't want to deposit it since he wasn't on the account. We have 2 checking and savings accounts. Really? $14???? I made such a stink that the branch manager came over and ok'd it. I would not recommend this bank. My main bank is Wells Fargo and like them so much better.

While the personnel are polite, their attention to detail is sadly lacking for a bank. In my experience they do not follow through on the tasks requested nor are they consistent with information regarding transactions. They are quick with an apology but finding that I must follow up after every interaction to ensure they complete the requested transactions.

I've been with Rabobank since they were still Mid State Bank, probably about 15 years. I'm happy with this Rabobank in Nipomo , I come here to do banking at least once a month. They've been friendly and helpful.
