I contacted Jennifer about a pet and she called the foster family immediately. She seems very busy so from then on I communicated with the foster family. They have been wonderful and even checked in on him. The visit from the prior family helped put his mind at ease and he opened up to us after. we are happy with our experience. 1000x better than dealing with the shelter.

Wonderful people heartwarming! The stuff these people go through is a lot behind the curtains. I love these people for doing Gods work. You must not look at what you see, but look at the heart of what they're trying to do. Merry Christmas to all of you!

I cannot explain how crazy this owner is. I hope everyone who comes here knows that she will literally tell you to leave the dog on the street. Not only that when we first called, my friend the nicest girl in the world was asking questions and the “owner” was giving crazy attitude called me 15 when I called her out for her horrible advice in leaving the dog on the street. I’m sorry but for you “owner” do better. Calling me 15 when I called you out for having a bad attitude?? Take advice from an actual professional. GROW UP.

Horrible. Do NOT contact this woman. Rude, unprofessional and condescending. We are relinquishing our two dogs and sought assistance from her. She was so rude to my husband and insulted him during the conversation. I wouldn’t trust any pet with her.

Such a clean place there was no order like I've smelled at other Humane Societies the dogs were all adorable I wish I could adopt them all this is a great place for adoption the staff was friendly

Jennifer is amazing. I couldn't believe how much this women really cares for dogs, she is a true guardian angel to beloved dogs and humans who love their dogs. When I was in a pickle and no one else would help me save a dog, she found a way to help me save a very special dog to honor the memory of my beloved late Catahoula. The dog we are rescuing had no chance without Jennifer helping me. Thank you Jennifer, you saved my new friend and maybe me.

We recently adopted a beautiful pup from 2nd chances that we are picking up tomorrow. Jen and the foster mom Christina have been amazing throughout with keeping me informed how the pup is doing and I thank you for that. This whole experience has been amazing and I can't thank you enough. People do not understand how many fur babies out there need to be rescued and rehomed. And that rescues are volunteers that will do everything in their power to help a dog in need. Do they run out of space or Foster's , yes of course just like all the current shelters that are at capacity and they have to turn people away cause of irresponsible pet parent's. Does that make them a bad person, No. Do you have the right to be mad at them cause they turned you down or gave you a lecture, hell no. Blame yourselves for not being a responsible pet parent and want to give up your pet cause it's not convenient for you anymore!! My thing is, if you don't have the time to take care of a pet and be responsible, don't get one. Our pets are meant to be loved and taken care of, not just left in your backyard cause you don't want them inside. And then you wonder why your pet took off!! Be respectful to other's and a responsible pet parent, it is you who made that choice to get a pet! Stop blaming others for your short comings and irresponsibility!! And remember pet's cost money they are not free, all the work these ladies put into helping dogs is done from the bottom of their hearts. They feed them, take them to the vet to get check including shots and spay/neuter those services are not free FYI!! I have had nothing but a great experience with 2nd chance rescue! Thank you Jen ❤️

Beautiful experience and such a wonderful way to get a new family member, always rescue. They were so professional my friend was so impressed with my experience after having such bad ones trying to find a dog that she went and rescued adopted my dogs brother

They are nice enough, however, I'm looking for a senior dog for a friend to my dog, who is a senior. We just lost her mate and she's depressed. I was shocked to hear that the adoption fees are so HIGH! I'm a senior on fixed income. I have a lot of love to give an older dog...just not alot of $ for a mixed breed. I'll go to the shelter and rescue a senior...and save a life.

Very rude would not recommend. Explained I found a dog and have health issues and could not keep it. I told her if she couldn’t help I would have to release back to the street and her response was “that’s up to you”Why offer services if you’re not in a position or staffed enough to help

Jennifer is amazing, very kind hearted person who does all she can for as many animals as she can, many of the negitive reviews of her rescue come from people giving up their pets and are upset when she has to turn them away due to lack of space but she trys to give you resources before the last resort of giving up your pet, many people think it comes off rude or uncaring but she is trying to do all to keep pets with their owners with simple problems that can be fixed. Many seem to think she has unlimited space and money but thats just not true with any dog rescue, limited space limited funds and Jen still does her absolute best. I highly recommend this rescue, also side note always make an appointment before coming as they have many dogs in foster homes so not all dogs are on property!

Thank you Jennifer and to all those who make 2nd Chances a great community resource. We have adopted Sugar, 10 yr female terrier mix because her momma passed away. Jennifer was swift to jump into action and make it happen flawlessly and we are so grateful! Keep up the great work, we appreciate YOU!
