We had a great experience with the morning group lessons for children! My kids had never skied before but on day one my 9-year-old daughter went up the lift twice and was making turns back and forth through the obstacles. My 6-year-old son was riding the lift on day two and was making turns and shredding it. I highly recommend! The teachers were exceptional and attentive and in general the program was very accommodating

We just felt so welcomed and had a great time skiing this past April. Staff was very warm and welcoming, and the lodge was always a great place to unwind. This will be our new favorite place to go for skiing.

So, free gondola ride today. Not sure if it's free all the time, but a friend of mine told me that the gondola was free, I'm over to the resort and have a nice cocktail hour on the deck. Haven't skied here, but definitely got the free ride. So then easy.

Got to visit after the storm of 2023. So much snow And such a beautiful day to ski/snowboard. My husband rented a board and they literally size you to how tall you are which is super cool. I think the cafeteria is a little over priced but I ended up Getting the chili cheese fries and it was so good after a full day of skiing Such a nice resort. Will come back again!

Much smaller than Vail resorts. Not as dinky as Soda Springs, but still... Did not realize it was as close as it was. Snow quality was good in the morning! Towards the end of the day it approached 37F and the mashed potatoes started getting thicker. Slightly longer cruiser runs, came across a "black diamond" sign but was confused as the only thing that made it more difficult is that it hadn't been groomed. If it had been, it'd easily have been a blue square. Spent very little time in line. Unfortunately, Crow's Peak did not open. Smaller resort, less time spent in lines. Might be back, but not a part of any big multi-resort pass (Ikon, Epic) system so maybe not. Is part of Mountain Collective...still a smaller resort group pass.

Yesterday all lifts were closed. Today only 2 are open. They refused to refund or postpone our lift tickets. What a shame. Will never go there again.

Was very excited to get back on the slopes after a few years, and took the kiddos for lessons. Big shout to Henry & Nichole at lessons, Phoenix & Mika at rentals, and David, Sicily, & Dr Lee at Medical :-). Staff was amazing and the resort was beautiful! Absolutely will return again as resort of choice. Everybody had a great time, all thanks to the amazing people that work here.

Having skied at other Tahoe ski resorts located on Highway 89, I've come to really appreciate Sugar Bowl even more. Sugar Bowl is easy to get to and park. It's a much shorter drive from the Bay Area. That eliminates the stress of getting to the hill and finding a parking space. At Sugar Bowl, you can spend more time skiing and less time waiting in lines. The resort offers runs of various difficulties so there's something for everyone. It's more relaxing and less stressful than most Tahoe resorts.

Can't comment on the main resort or the hills, but we visited the new for this season Sugar Rush Tubing over ski week. It's definitely a gem. 10 lanes in total, 6 essentially smooth for the younger kids, 4 with a varying amount of moguls. Enclosed magic carpet that was actually operating (shocker), which is great since they're 600 foot runs and that would be quite a hike with tube in tow. Even on the most popular lanes, lines were never more than 5 or 6 deep - the flat lanes were usually walk on or 1 person ahead. They had both "fast' and "slow" tubes available, so kids who are a bit more nervous can work their way up. They had an employee at both the top and bottom of the magic carpet to monitor safety - fairly frequent stops when folks bunched up and got stuck behind little kids who take longer to dismount. 1 or 2 folks on each side at the top monitoring traffic on the lanes. Honestly more staff than I was expecting. Prices seemed in line with other tubing options in north lake, especially for a two hour window. We were done after 90 minutes given the number of runs we got in with the short lines. Good value. Not a lot of facilities, but they do have a snack window with drinks, dogs, and donuts. Port-a-john if you're desperate (so go before you go).

Love Sugar Bowl! Can I make a review for the parking lot staff? (older guy named Brett in gondola lot) Lol. Started the day off amazing with being harassed by the parking lot worker. He got mad at us for parking without him pointing (he was looking down when we arrived) so we parked and he yelled at us to move bc we were by a car with their door open resulting in us having to scoot over. We agreed and moved, he kept having a go at us saying "well if you were paying attention before I would have told you where to park". We asked why he was giving us such a hard time. We moved, he kept going and going; and the cherry on top he told us "everyone gets a medal in the special olympics!". Being an elementary teacher, this was uncalled for and totally inappropriate. You never know what someone is going through and maybe just looking forward to a day on the mountain, then you start out the day at 8am with the parking lot guy harassment. It's not hard to just be nice, and there's always a way to say things in a nice way. Being totally inappropriate and offensive is never the answer. Hopefully something is handled with parking lot guy BRETT, maybe he should practice talking to people nicely because this was totally upsetting given the money spent here to enjoy the day.

Got tired of the overcrowding at the Vail-owned resorts in the Tahoe area so I decided too try skiing this smaller resort. It turned out to be a good choice. Went on a Friday and it was not crowded. Lots of spacing between skiers and boarders, on the slopes, so I didn't have to avoid collisions from reckless people as I normally do at the bigger resorts. The lifts aren't the fastest and the runs aren't as long as the bigger resorts but you can get more ski time from the lack of crowds. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Parking then walking to the ticket window was easy. Snow grooming was very good. Had a thoroughly enjoyable time! I'll be coming here more often.

Absolutely atrocious customer service. Have emailed them a few times about lift ticket issues and haven't heard back once in a week in a half. And by phone? Their tickets team sends you to a dead-end number where no one picks up. Might as well be a Vail Resort at this point. Supremely disappointed.

Many year ski pass holder and this will be our last. Poor customer service! Called yesterday if they were open due to storm - website was not updated. A kind lady said they were CLOSED and took our contact information and said that someone would call with a refund for the Friends and Family vouchers that we purchased. We didn't receive a phone call so we called today. We were told by one manager that it was incorrect information they were open 9-12. Then stated they were open 9-2. Spoke to two "managers". Both stated they don't know who answered the phone. And who would give that information. This would have been our third time skiing there since Christmas and clearly we were ready to go. But we didn't based on information given. The "manager" would not refund any or all of the vouchers. Said she could put three friends/family vouchers back into our account but we would have to repurchase. So we pay double - wonderful for SugarBowl! Whatever the issue with their miscommunication, it should not be put on the customer to figure out!!! The sad thing is our family was here from out of town and we were ready for another day of skiing/snowboarding. We wasted our tickets and money based on their employees information.

This review is for Sugar Tube Rushing. Need to get their new operations in order. Tickets sold out even though website showed availability. Kids carousel wasn't open but they sold tix for it. Watch out for nasty lady running the operations. No bringing your own sleds or even playing in the snow allowed.
