“Honestly, I had my best auto shop experience here today! Price and service are transparent and great. No extra cost for nonsense, and Mark explains details very patiently (unlike elsewhere) and professionally. They even pay lyft for me to go back and come again when my car is being repaired! 5 star⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“This shop is professional, honest, reliable, experienced, accessible, friendly. They have fair prices and explain everything clearly…. We’re fortunate to have them available for all makes and models. We historically drove BMW’s but switched to Acura and are still Allied fans.”

“Jeff is by far the best mechanic I have ever used.. The responsiveness and quality are unmatched. Everytime I had a question about anything he always answered his phone. He made me feel safe through the whole process of having to get my transmission replaced. I've been driving my car for about a week now and it feels and sounds better than the day I bought it.. In my opinion, you would have to be crazy not to take your car to him. He goes above and beyond what I could of ever expected.. He even cleaned my engine. He truly cares.. I know I'll be a customer of his for life.Service: Transmission”

“My daughter brought her Toyota Prius to Yarnell's because she had some leaking fluid. Yarnell's was very efficient and affordable and fixed the problem right away. We were pleased. So I decided to bring my Subaru in; I had a clutch that had been improperly installed by a different shop during prior service work, and it was very grabby/juddery in first gear. Yarnell's knew exactly what the problem was and were aware that a specific type of spacer is needed on Subaru's - it's not something that is often even documented by Subaru. But Yarnell's work on my clutch fixed the problem that the prior shop had caused and now my clutch works perfectly. The clutch pedal was incorrectly adjusted by the prior shop as well; and after getting the clutch replaced by Yarnell's I noticed that with the new clutch and the bad pedal adjustment, something didn't feel quite right. When I brought the car back to Yarnell's they were super responsive and fixed the pedal adjustment right away. While I would have wished that they had caught that the first time, I'm still very satisfied that in an imperfect world where "stuff happens", Yarnell's was able to take care of me and get everything sorted at no extra charge. I will be returning to Yarnell's after my great experiences there. (And by the way, their work was less expensive than the prior shop's bodged efforts!)”

“A few months ago, I took my 2018 VW Atlas in for an oil change, tire rotation, and recommended 40,000 mile maintenance. Their mechanic left air in my brakes and, as I was driving to work, the brake pedal went to the floor and I was unable to stop my vehicle if it was going at speeds above 30mph! When I drove back to the shop, needless to say, I was not happy. After leaving it to flush the air from the brake line, Jim (service manager) apologized profusely and summarily fired that mechanic (who also said I needed rear brakes replaced, which Jim inspected and said was not the case, saving me $600+). Jim then gave me two free oil changes as compensation. They do excellent work, are communicative, and, as is clear from the above, have INTEGRITY!”

“Besides the average wonderful repair service, these folks provide, they have bailed us out of so many situations. Recently, we purchased a car for our daughter and had to have it shipped out of state. We paid to have a trucking company pick the car up. The brakes were gone. Mike and his crew rallied, they found a new master cylinder and had the car repaired by noon. This saved us hundreds of dollars in cancellation fees. But honestly, this is just one of many many stories. We have five cars and an RV and there’s nothing that they can’t repair. Salt of the Earth people! We love them, and we miss them. We had to move away. ”

“When my 2015 Outback started sputtering while accelerating at lower speeds, I took it to Carlsen Subaru and they couldn’t diagnose it. Stevens Creek Subaru told me it was a coil pack, which they replaced, but that didn’t fix the problem either. They did discover seeping engine oil and quoted me such a massive bill that they suggested I buy another car. Thank goodness I found Barinder and Boxer Specialist. He discovered Stevens Creek put in the wrong coil pack, resealed the cam carrier and my Outback is running perfectly again. From now on I’m only going to Boxer. I highly recommend.”

“This is my favorite mechanic. I have been going to them for almost 10 years. I recommend them to everyone. They have been cheaper than other places I looked into but I feel like they always do great work. And I trust them more than any other mechanic I've ever had. I feel like they have my best interest at heart. One time I had my brakes need repair far sooner than expected. The dealership did not want to honor the warranty and were asking me to pay for the repair because of "wear and tear". So I brought my car to M&R (because I would rather pay them). And they told me to fight my dealership about the warranty. Instead of just taking the job, they gave me information about my brakes and ultimately I got the dealership to replace my brakes for free with M&R's encouragement.”

“My family brought our cars here when we lived in the Bay, and after a few years living in another state, I moved back and brought my car in for a regular service. Justin remembered my family after all those years and took great care of the car.A few weeks later I kept hearing a rattle when I was driving, so I took the car in and they checked it out - even getting a mechanic to ride with me on the highway to make sure they were hearing the same sound. Turns out living in a snowy place makes your car rust and rattle! Everything was resolved quickly and with great communication. Justin also called a lyft for me when I had to leave my car for an extended service, just highlighting how great this place is and how well they take care of their customers. They always send a report of what they've found and discuss next steps and what they recommend verus what you can save until the next visit. I really appreciate the time Justin took with me and making sure my car was all set for safe driving. Thanks to the team at A+ Japanese Auto Repair!”

“PLEASE do yourself a favor and go to Specialized Auto Care Center for your car needs! They are open everyday of the week until 10 PM. I've been servicing my cars there for years from oil change to complicated engine diagnostics. Recently sunny swapped the engine of my 2014 Toyota Corolla with the lowest cost compared to any other places. They swapped the engine within a day and I've had no issues since the work was done a couple of months ago. Response time is quick and I had a great customer service experience. Sunny is very friendly and professional.”

Took my e350 to get it diagnosed, keep in mind my car has been to 3 other shops and no one could figure it out, Brian took it for a drive and came back within 5 minutes and was so detailed on what was going on. “My 2018 Mazda cx-5 battery was showing signs of wearing down (had to jump start once.) After my car warranty was over, I did not see any benefit in going to dealership and getting fleeced with exorbitant charges. Instead I went to Independence Car Service based on recommendation from a friend who has been going there for the past 15 years. I was not disappointed. They were very honest and transparent in their communication from the very beginning. I've seen other services recommending thousands of dollars of repairs after an inspection. The battery replacement was taken care of without any fuss. I also asked for a Tire rotation service and they let me know that I can do that for free at America's Tire since I bought my tires from them. I was pleasantly surprised at such honesty. I know where I am going for any car repairs from now on.”

“I brought a couple of jeep axles in to have the bearing retainer ring pressed on. I figured a labor charge of 1/2 hour or so. I was not charged a penny. Reminds me of a phrase I heard "I don't want your money, I just want your business"”

“So I used to go the Lim Express which is right next to Pacific Lee Auto, so I knew of them. Well my car broke down this past Friday (day after Thanksgiving‍) and I had my AAA tow my car to Lim's. Called with no answer, but I noticed the Lim sign was gone. Didn't think about it so I left my car there in front of Pacific's with a note. Sunday evening I checked Google and found that Lims was PERMINENTLY CLOSED!!!! So I called and left a message for Pacific Lee. Monday morning, Mike of Pacific Lee Auto called me and confirmed that my regular mechanic closed down. And of course I asked if he could service my car and he said he would be happy to. My car was completely fixed with new, high quality parts, later that day for a very fair price.Since I wasn't able to pick up my car because I had to be in SF for surgery the next morning, I was able to pay him by Zelle. And he drove my car to my house (I live very close to the shop) and dropped it off so that it didn't have to stay there. GREAT attitude, knowledgeable and kind, honest.I'm a satisfied customer. And Mike is now my new mechanic!!!!!”

“I would recommend Carl 6/5 stars if Yelp allowed me to. Carl is a no nonsense, friendly mechanic, who is honest, passionate, and knowledge in everything about cars. My first service here was for an alignment after America's tire directed me here. Carl did an inspection for free of charge along with my alignment when I raised some issues with the vehicle. He gave me a straightforward answers and recommendations on what could be done, and even what he would skip or do if needed. It was great experience and value, considering another highly reviewed auto shop in the area wanted $210 only for the inspection before any work is done. The second service, I had Carl work on my 2013 rav4 AWD. He got my car road worthy within the day, gave me update son everything and anything that would need to be serviced, and only checked that things I was majorly concerned about. He never once tried to upsell me or cause any sort of safety fear in order to get me to do a service. Today, which is why I decided to write this review, Carl saved me $1100 dollars that I would've spent at Wheels Works for "supposed" warped rotors, which I had mentioned to the front desk. When I called Carl for a second opinion and quote, he immediately knew Wheel Works was attempting to upsell me on brake services because: 1. He had just inspected my car the week beforehand and serviced it. 2. He asked why they didn't mentioned which rotors were warped instead of giving me blanket answers and immediately wanted the work signed off on. 3. Told me that if the rotors were, in fact, warped, he would work on them for $450 per axle that was needed, and using original manufacturer parts only.”
