The Branch Manager, Veronica Anguiano, and the teller listened to my concerns about a previous computer hack. They reviewed my loans and accounts and made recommendations that saved me about $350 per month. The teller also gave my dog treats and made me feel they care. “Ms. Sharon is gonna mess around and make me leave my credit union in favor of Schools! I had a loan with Schools years ago and began receiving statements that showed I had hundreds of dollars in the account. Knowing that was incorrect, I stopped by to ask the staff to look up my account and go over it with me. I was greeted by Ms. Sharon (whom I would later learn is a manager), and another young lady. Ms. Sharon looked up my account and verified the funds were accurate, and that I put them there! She told me how to withdraw some of the monies (I didn't have an ATM or anything), made me an ATM card and then I asked about having the account closed, since I bank elsewhere. Ms. Sharon shared about the recent merger and how membership qualifications have changed, so I decided to keep the account open. I headed to the teller and was helped by Stephanie, who was very nice and provided additional information on how to manage my account. Lovely experience at Schools, I may be switching (primary) credit unions!”

“Fast and friendly! Zero complaints for this credit union. I signed up about a year ago, and I go in every two weeks or so. They are closed on weekends, which is a bit of a bummer, but that's pretty normal for a bank. Tellers need weekends, too! There are three regular tellers at the desk and I've conversed with them all. Each is proficient and courteous.”

“I will say that many credit unions have more of a family-oriented atmosphere than the big name financial institutions such as Bank of America, Chase, and Wells Fargo. And "SAFE Credit Union" is no exception. Based in Folsom (where their headquarters are) and serving the greater Sacramento area as well as Yuba, Sutter, El Dorado counties and parts of the Bay Area, this has been my go-to place dating back to the late-2000's. The location I am focusing on is directly on Madison Ave. and adjacent to San Juan Ave. in Citrus Heights. This location does have a drive-thru ATM machine as well as a single walk-up ATM machine outside. They do provide ample parking from two separate entrances. Once inside, the interior of this credit union is quite open and spacious. There are several areas where you can sit and wait as well as a respectable amount of cubicles where many of the bankers provide questions on loans (personal, student, home equity, vehicle) as well as mortgages, money market, and IRA's. The area where the tellers work is also spacious while the line moves rather quickly. Some of the major advantages that this credit union offers is free checking, no ATM fees at non-SAFE credit unions, low interest credit cards, and overdraft protection. I've taken out several loans where the monthly payments have not been too expensive which is a huge plus. Their mobile app is also very handy where you can transfer money with ease while navigating through all your accounts. All in all, "SAFE Credit Union" is an above average place to serve all your banking needs. My rating, four stars.”

“I came in today to make a new account after having issues with golden one. I decided I need to have a different bank right away as I walked in I was greeted and the girl who helped me. Tiffany was very nice and was able to help me make a new account within minutes we decided on the free checking and savings account for me since that would fit my financial needs, she was very sweet took her time and asked me before I left if I had any more questions and even showed me how to download the safe credit Union app and how to sign onto it she went above and beyond to make sure I had a wonderful experience really happy with her exceptional customer service skills She was awesome. I am very happy that I was able to open up an account and be in an out this was an awesome, smooth process. This location is a newer location. It's very large very nice very friendly staff. This is definitely a bank that everybody should check out given the fact that it's a credit union you could pull money from golden one and they will not charge a fee on it. They made my transaction very easy they were able to transfer my funds from the golden one into my new account. I was happy with my experience. I am really glad they were able to accommodate me given the fact it was a weekend that made my weekend even better. I highly recommend this establishment for anybody looking to get a new bank account. They are awesome. Plus they have really great auto loans definitely a place to check out. “I have been banking with SCU for over 15 years. I've been waiting to open an account with a different credit union (not SCU) because they offer it through my work. It has been over two weeks and I still haven't been approved. Mind you, I have an excellent credit score and no red flags. This terrible/annoying experience with the other credit union has made me really appreciate SCU even more than I already do. “I can only speak for my own experiences, but I don't understand the negative reviews posted here for this branch. I've had nothing short of great customer experience here. Prior to moving to Safe, I was a Wells Fargo customer for over 6 years (when I had gotten my first job), and they were nothing but a pain to deal with it. I jumped on the credit Union bandwagon because WF was charging me up the you-know-what with fees, not releasing my funds, and their online banking was not always 100% accurate. Safe Credit Union has provided me exactly what I was looking for in a bank, and I feel like they are more welcoming and overall accommodating to their members.”
