Berman Ceramic Arts

Hours: Berman Ceramic Arts is a wonderful pottery studio that feels like family and provides a great place for both beginning and experienced potters. It is a full-on working studio with an awesome community atmosphere where everyone is friendly and helpful, including the owners, volunteers, teachers, and students. The teachers are highly qualified and very talented artists. It is a safe space to try and fail while being inspired by the amazing work of more experienced students, who create a huge variety of hand-built and wheel-thrown pottery and ceramic sculpture. Students constantly learn new techniques and get ideas from teachers and fellow students. Because of the high level of talent and commitment, many students keep coming back for years or even decades. The studio offers a variety of Laguna clay bodies, around two dozen in-house glazes, cone 10 oxidation and reduction firings, and regular raku firings. Classes are held several times a week, from Monday to Saturday, covering throwing and hand-building. There are also open studio hours on Thursday and Saturday. The studio also has incredibly great prices on holiday sales of student works.
