For the record, the gentleman helping me at the front desk was superb and patient while I I was looking to close an account for my recently deceased parents. However, later when I had to return, I was helped by a different woman. So as we're finishing up, she asks me where I bank and I answer honestly that I do not bank at this institution. And she has the GALL to say "my condolences" with a sarcastic look on her face in reference to my current bank. Tactless much?! I'm right there with my parent's death certificates right in front of her and she says that about where I bank? As I sit there shocked, she goes into a spiel about their accounts. I wasn't there to open one and her social timing was horribly offensive. Absolutely insensitive and rude. Well, if there was ever way to kill a promotion and a guarantee that I would never bank here, she managed it.

They are so slow and dont even help when tou get to the front. They should have someone at the front that tells you if they can or cant help with your transaction so you dont waste time waiting.

I've been doing banking with Bank of the West for 45 years, the service used to be 4 stars, now, I bank there for convenience , if teller made a mistake it's your fault, because you don't follow up the mistake.

This location gave me fake 100's. I was a long time business partner with large reserves. The branch refused to fix their mistake. Made me feel like a criminal for their error. Be careful with this bank.

This a very friendly branch where everyone knows you and tries to help. It gives a feeling if personal touch and care. Chris and Karen are amazing and super helpful. I have both business and personal accounts and I am not moving to a bigger bank ever. I get a pesonal touch and care. They make me feel very special always.

This bank has the worst customer service. A simple deposit takes at least 10 minutes with questions throughout the process. Tellers are not very kind and it's like the customers are bothering them. Very disappointing. With all the competition out there, you would think they would take extra care with respect to their customer service. SAD!!

THE. WORST. BANK. EVER! We came to renew our account. Teller gave us a great rate. But oops, she could not finish this simple transaction because A) The banker (manager?) had to do it and B) She had to go to lunch. Oh, and we would have to wait because banker/manager had not yet returned from his lunch. Sooo, he came back and told us that her rate was incorrect and we would not be getting it after all. Everyone has a different view on how a bank should be run and none of them have any customer relationship knowledge. So we closed out the account, which took so long that teller had already returned from her lunch. This bank is an example of how NOT to run a business. They are moving soon, so if you have a safe deposit box, better empty it soon. The new bank will not have any, which even adds to its marvelous appeal!!!

Bank of the West (BotW) is unreliable, uncaring and unwilling to help customers in need. On 4/15/2019, my wife and I went into the Northridge, CA branch of BotW where we had banked for three years. We originally opened our BotW account at Pasadena, CA when we moved to California in 2013. During this visit, we wire transferred earnest money to an escrow company in San Antonio, TX as part of our purchase of a property there. While conducting this business, we asked the BotW employee helping us how we could submit a second wire transfer for the balance due at closing when we would no longer be physically in California or near a BotW branch (none in Texas). The employee told us that since we had come in person to the branch, been verified and would be sending the wire to the same exact company and routing information, just with a different amount, that we would be able to initiate the second wire transfer via telephone. We were happy to hear this and thought nothing more about the answer. BIG mistake on our part. Fast forward to 5/13/2019. We are in a rental house in San Antonio and call BotW to initiate the second wire transfer. NOW we are told a completely different story. "Oh no. Bank POLICY requires you to be in person for a wire transfer." We were also basically called liars by the officers at the Northridge branch and the Pasadena branch because they both said, "Oh no. One of our employees would NEVER tell you that." Their suggestion: see if the escrow company would take a personal check. A FREAKING PERSONAL CHECK FOR THE BALANCE OF A HOME PURCHASE!! When my wife asked if BotW would do that, she did not get an answer. Frankly, this answer was not only ridiculous, it was insulting. Their only solution: show up at a BotW branch in person. SO - since BotW was unwilling to fix their mistake and didn't care enough to come up with a realistic solution - that's what we did. I flew from San Antonio to Oklahoma City and back in one day. I took a cab from the airport to the BotW branch in Oklahoma City, sent the wire transfer, then took a cab back to the airport and flew back to San Antonio. As a disabled person, this was VERY taxing for me, but based on our situation with the move, it was the only solution. BotW was unrealiable, uncaring and unwilling to help us in this situation that one of their employees created. They cost us a LOT of unnecessary money to fix THEIR mistake by one of THEIR employees. People need to understand thney cannot trust ANYTHING told to them verbally by ANY BotW employee because the Bank will not fix it if there is a problem and call them liars if they insist they were told otherwise. Worst of all? BotW officers kept intoning "bank policy" as if it were a Bible verse. Here's a hint: policy is not law. Exceptions can be made to "bank policy", unlike state or federal laws or regulations. Especially in a case where two people were given wrong information by a BotW employee. And you know what? Now the Northridge branch mysteriously claims that they can't identify the employee who conducted the wire transfer, even though the employee has to sign and put their information on the document. Gee, very convenient, hunh? Okay, enough ranting. Like I said, we're still recovering from traveling 1,400 miles on the move, making a day-long trip to Oklahoma City courtesy of BotW and moving into our new home. Thanks for nothing, Bank of the West!

Poor customer service, branch manager is never in the office and when she's there she is either busy munching the day away on her desk or just having personal calls. They have the dumbest most ignorant person at any bank you would ever go to in Kevin Ansari who have no clue what he's doing or saying and spend the day giving wrong info about products and services ( quoting a fixed rate on a home equity line which is a adjustable rate product) . You would expect people to dress nicely in a bank but people in this office make you feel like you walk into a liquor store. Not to mention that the tellers are so slow and there's only one teller or two at best. Bank of the s***
