We had a really long day of moving, and returned our truck here the next morning at 8 am. James provided us great service and made the return process very simple. A relief to end our moving process so smoothly.

I needed a pick up or van to pick up a door in Long Beach (traveling from Northridge). I called the office and James told me that he had a cargo van available. I jumped in the car and was there in 45 minutes. We wrapped the reservation up, he gave me the key and told me that I needed to be back their 5p closing. Traffic was un-predicatable as usual, and I got to the office about 10 minutes or so till 5. No one was there. NO ONE. There is no place to drop a key. No emergency number posted. Just dead ends. I went next door to the convenience store/ gas station. The woman inside had no number for James. I asked her to call/ message her store manager. No reply. I asked her to push it a little..and went next door to JiffyLube (all in the same building). They didn't have a number for James either. I went next door to the convenience store/ gas station. They didn't have a number for James either. I called the office number, no answer...but a recorded message. I hit the prompt to talk with reservations. They can't help me....but she switches me to Customer Service.....only to find out that the office is closed. I called the reservations desk again- explained to a different person with a different accent that I should just take the truck home and bring it back tomorrow. Not gonna work- I'm not leaving my car in their lot hoping that it's not damaged. I asked to speak with his supervisor- he transfers me to customer service....which is still closed...lol. I went back to the convenience store- she got a number for James. I called. He told me that he 'clocked out' at 4:46 and his helper was right behind him. They knew I was returning the truck, but chose to leave early, even though their closing time was at 5. He reminded me in no time at all that they closed at 5. I told him I was there before 5, and he said I must have been wrong. I had the timestamped gas refuel receipt from their station....still didn't apply. He said that everybody just wants to get home at the end of the day. Who runs a business like this? Well, I mean, besides James? Clearly he has the BUDGET name to lean on for new business- because if it were 'James Truck Rental' he would be out of business. I brought the keys back at 9a this morning. Showed him the timestamped receipt for the fuel- showing I was there before 5. He seems to think that you can pump over 9 gallons of gas into their truck in just 1 or 2 minutes. Clearly he has no grasp of what time is- he 'clocked out' at 4:46 the night before, and he can pump over $50 worth of gas in 1 minute. He's a superman. When we did the walk around, I told him about the side door not locking....he discounted it. I asked him to show me how it works then. He tried. It still didn't work. No apology. I told him about how it felt like driving a water balloon- front end needs an alignment or tires need balancing or something- he tells me that the rig has just over 20K miles and shouldn't have that problem. I told him I knew it shouldn't, but it DID. I've driven professionally in this city- i know where the bad lanes are on the freeway to Long Beach, and I stayed out of them. But it was all over the place. He said it must have been something else. I said- my guess was that most people wouldn't bother to tell you there was an issue. I did. You can take the information to research and fix it, or ignore it. This place is a JOKE. When I want humor, I'll go to the Laugh Factory. When I want a rental truck....it won't be here. I'm done.

I called inquiring about a truck just now because I’m booking online and need to adjust the date. The guy who answered the phone hollered that they don’t have anything available and hung up in my face and now keeps declining the call. It’s giving very much a ghetto office. Very unprofessional.

Be careful!!!!!!! they're mothaaa f!!!!! If you reserve a truck online, they will call you last minute saying they don't have a truck available for you. bad company!

Santos gave away my reserved truck because I was late picking it up. I reserved for two days and because I was a few hours late picking it up thru gave it to someone else. Don’t go here if you want a business thats reliable. Thanks Santos ????????????????????????

Santos gave away my reserved truck that I had reserved for 2 days because I was a few hours late picking up. Even though I gave my card to reserve it I was told technically I wasn't going to be charged at the end. That's like losing a reserved hotel room because you weren't there at 3pm check in. If you need a truck stay away from this budget rental shop.

I had reserved a 12’ moving truck online a few days before I actually needed it. I received my confirmation number & everything seemed to be fine. The next day I get a call that my reservation is not able to be meet with the size of the moving truck I had asked for but would be the 16’ which I thought was still okay BUT that I am also on standby to even get a moving truck on the day I reserved it for. I called customer service to tell them that moving is already stressful as it is & now I’m told the moving truck I reserved is not available even though I had already planned for movers to come on the day of. I talked to a guy named Jeovani who seemed to be very helpful, he insured me that I have a 16’ truck reserved & confirmed for the day I needed it & all he needed to do was find a location to be able to drop it off for after hours. He told me that he would give me a call back or for me to call back later to see an update on location drop off. I called him back the next day, no answer. Called him back the day after that, no answer, even when leaving a voicemail for him to get back to me. The day of, I go to the pickup Budget location to get my truck rental & I am told that I am still on standby and the truck I had reserved is not available at all. Again I called Jeovani that moment to ask what was going on if I was told by him that I had a confirmed reservation but still no answer at all. Luckily the guy at the pickup Budget location, I believe his name was James was trying to help us in whatever way he could. He offered a 26’ truck which was a beast size but at that point I felt like I had no choice, everything was packed & movers were waiting on the truck. The truck itself was intimidating & I couldn’t drive it, I had to ask my dad to drive it instead. It was also intimidating for him as well, that added to more fees so instead my final cost was closer to $200 than the $110 I was expecting. Plus trying to find parking or driving through narrow streets made it such a mission. I will NEVER go back to Budget again, it was much more stressful & Jeovani was absolutely a joke in helping me solve my issues. He lied about my confirmed reservation, never got back to me for any updates, and never seemed to pick up my calls.

Be ware! Called today for a reservation, the guy was so rude, no patience for clients. He litterly give me triple the price then what I saw online, and at the end when I asked why it's so high he said that's about it , when I say ok thank u, he simple hang up on me.

Would give zero stars if I could. They allow you make reservations online, give you a confirmation, and you show up and they tell you, sorry we allow you to make reservations online because about 20% of people who make reservations don't qualify or don't have a valid license when they show up and trucks may have freed up. What kind of customer service is that. And in what world are people making reservations to rent a truck with expired licenses? Not even I'm sorry, just, there is a Uhaul down the street. I have to remember to read yelp reviews before doing business (or attempting to) with anyone.

Horrible. Believe everything they say on here. My reservation got moved right when I was getting ready to pick it up where I originally reserved it online. Got the confirmation number as well and everything but they really don't give a damn about you. I don't know if anyone has actually rented a truck from this company because just like me, it looks like they cancel reservations on everyone on the day of the move. They told us there aren't any trucks available...then why give us the option to reserve it?! Should've just shown it was sold out online. They don't care, they don't apologize and they are extremely rude. The so called manager, James, doesn't help at all and he talks to you like you're an idiot for not understanding and question why your reservation is canceled due to no available trucks. He tells you to go right ahead and call customer service. Has to literally rented another truck extremely last minute but just did with Penske! Still cheaper than Uhaul too and they were a million times way more helpful!

Reserved a truck online a month before departure. Got a call the day before saying no truck available. Put on stand by. Called customer service and got hung up on 3 times. Still not call back. They simply don't care. Don't waste your time. Go somewhere else.
