This liquor store is near my job, so it is convenient. The location is perfect because there aren't many liquor stores other than the Stata Bro next to it. However, why does this store look like a mess? The inventory is scattered and it is unclean. The lady working there isn't very nice or pleasant. I felt like my items might have been infested with pests since there is no evidence of it being cleaned for a while. Does the health department also audit liquor stores?

Pretty friendly people, not a big store but they got beer, wine, liqour, chips and snacks, lotto scratchers, and some candy bars, good for a quick stop

I've been coming here since I was just a babe. I used to play the video games they had in the corner when you first walk in. Maybe it's because my Mum is Korean; but they've never messed with me or made me feel unwelcome. The beer is always cold and they say "good luck"when I purchase lotto tickets.

I have the best memories!! I remember playing Galaga and Donkey Kong here back in 1982, getting my bike stolen for the very first time here, and being scolded for being in the adult section! Glad to see this place is still here!!!

The short of it is, I wouldn't go back here. I really don't like giving bad ratings to mom and pop stores, but this place sells some old alcohol. By old I mean expired. I bought 2 bottles of wine from here and when I opened them they where rancid. A lot of the liquor on the shelf is covered in dust. I guess I should have known better. The beer I bought was ok, a bit over priced but ok. Overall I would avoid this place. Sorry.

They have good deals if you are paying with cash on certain items. Paying with a card costs you an arm and a leg in fees smh

Um ok there's no way this place is remaining a five star based on one review that I disagree immensely on. I came here yesterday to ask for matches for some fireworks and the lady in the front (who, by the way, seemed extremely annoyed that a teenage girl showed up in her shop or something) said "yes". I asked how much they were and she said twenty five cents. So I started taking out my money and she said "are you eighteen?" I said yes. She said "ID". I don't have a drivers license or any other ID with my birthday on it, so I told her i didn't have ID with me and she just turned around and started walking away. Like... Wtf?! I called after her saying "I just need them for fireworks!" and she just continued walking away and shaking her head. Honestly she wouldn't even look at me in the face. I felt like I'd done something horribly wrong and owed her a million dollars or something. Ugh. Terrible attitude. I guess I can't speak for anyone else who works here but because of my one experience with this woman I'm never coming back. When I was buying fireworks I asked where I could get some matches and the guy told me "Why don't you try asking the liquor store owner? They're very nice." After going there, I felt like a complete idiot for not understanding the joke. HAHA. Never coming here again!!

I have been a patron of the Village Liquor before the change in ownership for about 10 years now. A small vietnamese family recently took ownership of the establishment a couple years back and business has been booming. Parking is located in the Papa johns strip center. The father Henry is usually running the store at night with his two sons, while his wife sometimes work in the AM. They are always so extremely nice and helpful. While their establishment is shadowed by the big chain 711 a couple doors down, the service, selection, and low prices make it the obvious reasons to keep coming back. While the liquor is a tad bit pricer than you would see at the local grocer, Henry does not mind pulling a cold case from the back of the fridge. I once bought a 12 pack of stella that i grabbed and upon bringing it to the front Henry said it wasn't cold enough and brought me one from the back. (huge props) If you are running low on cash and need a smoke break, the village is one of the few stores i know that sell single cigarettes for 25 cents a pop. Dont forget the freshest swishers for $1 The Village is one of Artesia's hidden Gems that is still family owned. Remember to bring cash, b/c while they accept plastic, they charge 75 cents to use it. This store has everything from $1 arizona ice teas, lottery tickets, to any sized bottle of liquor you could ever imagine.
