Great selection of many different kinds of books and really great staff. Very warm and welcoming and you can spend a lot of time in there and even bring your dog in.

A gem. I regularly buy a whole grocery bag worth of books for approx 20$. All the funds to kids summer programs. All the people who work there are volunteers.I feed my kids brains with all sorts of reasonably priced books. We then share those books with friends or put them in neighborhood book boxes. Win win win!

I have long been a book lover so I am happy to travel far and wide to browse. I make it my business to drive from the East Bay to Novato to visit the Book Place every other month or so. As others have said, there is a great selection of books to look at and the atmosphere is comfortable, even homey. I always manage to find a gem (or two) to bring back with me, despite the lack of space in my house. I am grateful to the Friends of Marin for offering so many books, videos and cd's at such great prices.

I'm a huge fan of this place and have walked out with some treasures!! A couple years ago I learned that the California government doesn't spend any money at all on stocking books for prisoners in the penal system, which I think is crazy, I would rather have a prisoner be spending time in a library then doing nearly anything else. The Book Place was my "go to" for getting inexpensive paper back books to send to the prisons. I have since had to give that venture up, however I now drop by as much as I can in order to fill my deep seated addiction for knowledge. Many nonprofits do not carry a good selection of books, Since the Book Place carries both donated books and ex-library books, the stock is always refreshed. Also the staff is wonderful. Need a kids book..this place has a wide selection, all affordable. They also carry unique rare books, DVDs and magazines. This set up is a win win. You get books and the library gets supported.

Parking on the street. Usually available and not too far from the store. (Update) there is a parking lot behind the store What a great bookstore. Inexpensive used books that are in great condition. I love their selection of books and could spend the whole day there. The people who work there are all so friendly and helpful. Always busy. They'll still answer any questions you may have.

Bought 10 books today. Selection and quality of books is generally excellent and I have yet to walk out without at least a couple of books. Today was novels, biography, home improvement and a brain teaser book. I don't t know why, but I do have a mental block when it comes to the fact they don't accept cards if any sort - it's cash or check (check?? what the heck is that??). Love the Book Place.
