Well, to start with I want to say that I am so happy ive met some of the greatest people at Bay Club Rolling hills, especially the women who are so supportive and kind, the staff and the vibe is what it should be.But they were the original members of Rolling HIlls, and not Bay Clubbers. I think they are too kind to leave a yelp review so i will reflect some of the conversations from the original Rolling Hills club members after the Bay Club bought the gym recently. For my swimming experience : hard to see the sad faces on the other original members of the Rolling Hills Club, as the pool yesterday was so hot that it appeard unhealthy and after I returned home and today I have smelled and felt a chlorine bleach smell on my skin and wont go away, its a film of some chemical and a sticky substance. Two or three of us had to leave the pool. if its not too hot, its too cold, hence not a good experience in general. THE HOT TUB.: Our suits turned color quickly , a blanching effect which has made my expensive suit into a worthless cleaning rag quickly. Something is wrong there. They said that before Bay Club bought it there were always men walking around checking water quality, but no more. obviously. Today I woke up with red blotches on my feet from fungus , and its probably from that horribly smelling carpet that has been in the gym and locker room for ages, and no amount of Febreeze will take the bacteria away,, so good luck with that. A few gentleman older asked why the Bay Club raised the prices before the pool renovation took place instead of after all the fixes had been established , some say the club was bought by a third world country some equity , money grab. Ive stayed a member to witness how a corporation makes its mistakes on a gross level. Its worth a learning experience! but may be a sign of the times? I doubt its the sign of the times, however all the managers know very well they never have a problem getting members who are desperate to join a gym and there are heaps of gym enthusiasts who run to their classes and enjoy a good work out and dont worry about anything. IN fact theres an overflux of membership available for this corporation, this is why when the "managers" call back with their "parrot like' repetitive responses they appear to be "paid advertisers" they all have the same responses if you read them. So this is why other people who live in the real world are having a hard time with the "PAY club"..btw, dont call me,,, mr Todd... do not call., i dont want to hear it.

This place went to *complete garbage* once it became Bay Club (from Rolling Hills). While the pools are being repaired, multiple price increases have occurred. Staff have gone downhill, programs have all gone downhill. The only pool that is not under construction is BROKEN, day three now and no known day when it will be repaired. Their policy does not include sending out a courteous email about broken stuff (the only pool that is not under construction is broken, the men's sauna is broken and the tennis lights are broken, all this week) so instead you drive there and show up to learn everything is broken, too bad. The front office just blames it on the paying customers and simply say "Well, you can call first..". So the paying customer is supposed to call first every time before going to the club? Really unforgiving customer service and unwilling to understand things from the customer's point of view. We canceled our membership, the Bay Club is a complete joke. Don't waste your money!

I love the heated pool. The club is very clean and employees are friendly. The area is so nice and peaceful

Already expensive but ruined by Bay Club purchase. Stopped upkeep of bathrooms, almost 25% price increase, unable to maintain the facility. The sauna doesn't work at night and the bathrooms are dirty with no towels. This place was quirky and expensive; now it is a corporate ruin with arrogant pricing for poor service.

Unfortunately, I can't give the Bay Club in Marin a good review. For the price, which is very high with significant price increases every year, the facilities are just ok. The women's locker room at Ross Valley is cramped and older. Sometimes it is very hard to get to your locker. The women's locker room at Bay Club Marin is ok but not stellar and the classes at the Bay Club Marin are good. However, I've definitely experienced not being able to book some classes as the popular classes are often full. The Bay Club advertises a community feel, but I haven't experienced that either. If it wasn't as expensive as it is, I would give a better review, but it's surprising that they can't seem to get that many good people to work there. For example, the kids swim classes were the worst we've experienced with an instructor who didn't interact much with the kids who were 4 and 5 years old, so they didn't learn much. It also doesn't seem like the lifeguards are always paying attention. If Ross Valley Bay Club had a hot tub and a cafe available, that would help justify the price, but unfortunately those amenities are not there. I haven't had much luck booking tennis courts when we want to play, but I also haven't tried that often. If you book far enough in advance, maybe that works. It is very hard to get ahold of anyone via the app, email or phone, which gives the impression that they do not care about their customers. I think the Bay Club in SF is much better from what I've been able to tell, but I can't recommend Marin.

We used to love this place, having been members for years. Late last year the club was sold to Bay Club and on October 9, 2023 we received an email from Matthew Stevens, President & CEO of the The Bay Club Company, stating that "Let's address critical items first - your membership has transitioned over to the Bay Club as of October 1 - and most importantly, we are not making any changes to your membership dues or structure at this time." We continued with our membership despite the fact that Bay Club has allowed multiple parts of the club to fall into disrepair (tennis courts developing obvious deep cracks and portions of the surface coming off, even finding that the on-court water dispensers have clearly not been cleaned in a long while and green algae prevalent in them). We've spoken with multiple employees that have all assured us that if any changes were to be made in membership fees or structure, we'd have plenty of notice. TODAY (December 27, 2023) I received an e-mail saying that our membership fees were being raised nearly $1,000 per year starting on January 1, 2024 (yeah, you read that right, in five days). We obviously went to immediately cancel our membership. The website says it takes several days to process AND that there is a 30-day cancellation policy meaning that we will be charged this new rate for January! When I called the club directly, nobody was able to give me any information about whether the 30-day would be enforced. It's sad that a place that was so great for us has decided to proceed in this manner. I requested in my cancellation e-mail (because that's the only way you can cancel) that they do not charge us for January. I will update this review with whether Bay Club attempted to charge us for January, and if they have, the result of the chargeback and/or small claims court case. Please understand that this review is in no way to be taken as anything against any of the employees at Rolling Hills itself, they have all been absolutely wonderful and were a large part of why we continued to be part of the club.

They don't give a damn about how their noise from Pickleball impacts their neighbors. Not great for the community.

I love the facilities and I don’t wanna complain, but I hear they don’t pay their employees enough

Great for families. My boys love the pool and the diving board. We joined during Covid and the facilities are nice. Water is warm, lots of fitness classes too, and the cafe is a nice treat.

Beautiful setting. Kinda $$$ for the older facilities, definitely needs upgrades. That said, a great hangout for the whole family with something for every age.

I joined for 6 months right before the pandemic, went a few times & then did not go because of the whole shelter in place, and was still afraid of being exposed when they re-opened. After asking if I could get a refund for the months I did not use it was refused. It was upsetting knowing that I paid everything upfront for my membership and then not get some kind of a refund. But I suppose many fitness centers do this to people who want out. Be SUPER SURE that you don't want a refund before joining because once they have your money it's theirs. The place has a very nice country club feel with everything you need for a gym, but realistically I just can't afford their expensive monthly rate. Last year (in 2022) we were able to pay something like $5 per person (as non-members) to attend their Memorial Day BBQ potluck which was great. For this Memorial Day BBQ when I called the front desk to RSVP (spoke with Marianne I think) I was told now you have to be a guest of a member to attend. I was disappointed. I wonder why this changed. We had been looking forward to it this year since we enjoyed it so much last year. UGH. I guess Rolling Hills has enough rich people paying their high membership rates to keep the place running. Sorry not sorry.

Please be extremely cautious when conducting any type of business with this club. They were extremely deceitful and unethical in business transactions I experienced. I've heard the same from other current and past members. It's a shame as this was once a nice club and a great addition to the community. I'll likely become a member again once the current management fails and the club finally sells to new owners. Practicing business in an unethical manner only lasts for so long.

Fantastic Club - so much to offer to enhance your life - FUN and fitness. The group exercise program is terriffic, and Alice Dow, instructor and group fitness manager, does a great job running it all and teaching classes. She offers many special events, too that engage members and helps to build community.

Great club with caring owners, 2 pools(one adults only) which I have enjoyed using for the past 40 years. They have most everything here whether a senior or young family. I wish there was a healthy cafe year round for to go meals or healthy snacks but the Summer season offers some food options in their cafe.

Love this club! Beautiful setting, clean, nice people, sparkling pools, fun events, good covid safety through the worst of the pandemic, and more affordable than many southern Marin clubs. Over the last 25 years, I've belonged to TPC, Rafael Racquet Club, Bay Club, etc. and Rolling Hills is my favorite.
