If you like good Italian food, this is the place to go. The food is homemade, with love. You can literally taste the love in their food. I have only done Togo orders. I ordered their meatball sandwich, AMAZINGLY YUMMY! I also have had the anti pasta salad, olives, salami, mozzarella with a balsamic dressing, really good. Everything on the menu sounds delicious. They get pretty busy, so plan accordingly. Whenever I'm in Novato this is where I order from. Make sure you have napkins/utensils before you leave, they don't put them in your Togo order for you.

Since they re-opened and re-located next to Albertsons a few years ago, I have to say that Tags is back and I owe them an updated review. No more weird tension behind the counter and service is back to quick and efficient. You'll be hard pressed to find ANY well-stocked (imported desserts, condiments, pastas, beverages and gift items), Italian deli in the North Bay. Tagliaferri's is a family-run classic- give 'em your business!

E X P E N S I V E!!!!The rent here is cheap but everything else is crazy expensive. Like Beverly hills expensive. Las Vegas expensive. 16 for a slim sandwich.

Tagliaferri “Tags” is an old school Italian deli. They sell imported Italian food and wines and have a deli counter where you can get fresh made sandwiches. I have been a customer for over 20 years and I’m not even a local. I always make it a point to stop by to grab a sandwich when I’m in the area. It opened in 1997 by locals, father and son. is still going strong simply because they got darn tasty deli meats, delicious bakery sandwich bread choices, hot comfort Italian food done right, yummy bakery desserts, and imported food and wine. The sandwiches are fantastic. My faves are the meatball, custom #1 (which reminds me of a typical Italian sandwich), and custom #12 grilled eggplant and artichoke. The meatballs texture are light and bouncy but with a substantial heftiness. The #1 is my #1, classic tried and true sandwich. The eggplant and artichoke is just a flavor bomb. Heck, I have had no sandwich I did not like from here. It’s all good! The prices are comparable to other delis. The size of the sandwich is hefty. Beautiful. I usually grab n go, but sometimes I eat there since they have some indoor tables. But when I go within a hour to closing time, the indoor seating area is usually shut down.So if you want to order anything from the deli counter, the ordering protocol is grab a number from the red number dispensing machine on the counter and stand in line. If it is not busy, they will not call out numbers and will take customers in line order. So grab a number to be cover your bases. If you want to buy items not from behind the counter, purchase those by standing at the front register. Want to avoid the rush, they take online orders and call ins. But buckle in during peak lunch hours.Customer service is great! To add, they do not use gloves but can you request them to when making your food. No attitudes. They’re cool with that.

Today i decided to go to this place for the first time on my lunch break from work. My order was messed up twice but i've never been the type to get upset or cause a scene. I simply called and let them know they were THE KINDEST they were so worried i didn't have a lunch or get what i wanted, offered to bring it wherever i work, remake it now or whenever i can come back and even refunded me for it! Tried the sandwich regardless even though it was wrong and i still enjoyed it so thank you again for being so sweet, and providing 10/10 service to make it right.

The sandwiches are good, the staff is great. I just wouldn't recommend the frozen lasagna unless you REALLY like ricotta cheese as it's heavy on that! Otherwise a great place for sandwiches and charcuterie fixings.

I travel across the greater portion of California for work, so I stop at delicatessens everywhere. The area between Santa Rosa and Novato hands down has the best sandwiches, Tagliaferri's does a fantastic job at holding this standard true. The staff are very welcoming as soon as you walk in. The sandwiches are full of flavor, have the perfect amount of spread, they are packed with meats and cheeses, and still soft. This sandwich is in the top 5 sandwiches I have found to date, and they have a plethora of frozen dinners and hard to find groceries too. 5/5 visit with a 9/10 sandwich! I will be coming back!

I really Just like this place. Everyone’s always friendly, service is fairly quick and supporting a small business is a plus. Food is good on the go for a Saturday afternoon outdoors. #1toasted, spaghetti and meatballs.

Sadly employees make sandwiches with their bare hands, and desserts were also grabbed bare handed. The young lady today was very nice but she didn’t wear gloves and that’s basic knowledge for handling food. PLEASE HAVE EMPLOYEES WEAR GLOVES WHEN HANDLING FOOD.
