If I could leave 1/2 star I would. This storage facility has no security at all. We had at least a truck bed of stuff taken out of are unit. The business has been uncooperative with identifying whomever robbed us. Their camera don't work and the individual door security alarms don't work either. We have been waiting for a call from them for over two weeks now. If you use them make sure you have insurance because your items are not safe. The lock we purchased from/ they recommended was picked.

I used Master Movers to relocate from SF to LA. Their price was great, they showed up exactly when they said they would, all of my stuff was was treated well (nothing was damaged in the move, not even lightbulbs), and I was charged to estimate. What more can you ask?

I booked with Master Movers on July 5th, paid a $100 deposit via credit card. The move happened on July 29th. The move itself was a bad experience but the real issue is their dishonesty. Before the move I described in detail the number of items and their size. They sent two movers, Francisco and Christian. I was on the street watching the truck and it would often be 10 minutes or more between their trips between the apartment and the truck. All my items except furniture were pre-packed in boxes. No disassembly was required (I did that ahead of time) and no other prep was needed. My point of comparison was a move I did with a different company exactly a year prior, with more than double the amount of items. That move took less time, cost less, and those movers were in constant motion. Additionally, one of the movers was visibly ill and coughing the entire time. He did not wear a mask at any point. He did however drop several items and damage a doorframe. Master Movers did not apply my $100 deposit to my invoice and also added an additional hour for their travel time to site that morning. They are based in South San Francisco and the move was in the Inner Sunset (i.e., that trip does not come close to taking an hour). This charge was not disclosed up front, and does not appear in the terms I agreed to. I contacted the owner, Conrad Hanns, the following day (7/30). He was irritated and dismissive on the phone and told me to call back another day. I did (8/01), and he said he would talk to his movers. He reported they took a single 10 min break--which is irrelevant, and not the issue at hand. He then claimed his customers often say that they work too fast. Unlikely. Conrad eventually agreed to refund the deposit and an hour of billed time. He said a check would be mailed. Two weeks later, no check had been mailed. I texted him on (8/15) and he didn't respond. I called him the next day (8/16): Conrad hung up on me the first time, the second time he said he would mail a check by the end of the week. It is now two weeks after that (8/29, a full month after my move) and I still don't have a refund for my deposit. I've begun a dispute with my credit card company. If you look at their feedback on this site (assuming it's not been hidden) and elsewhere you'll see a pattern of negative reviews that are all consistent in what they say about this company and about Conrad in particular. Several reviews mirror my experience exactly. I wish I had seen those before I picked Master Movers.

This is a very clean facility compared to some other storage facilities in the area. I like the fact that it is gated and has surveillance. I feel at ease knowing my items are stored here.

Master movers does it again! I have used them a few times now and they really take the weight off of your shoulders! Usually I am fully prepared, but this time the move snuck up on me. Master movers showed up with everything we needed and more. They were extremely organized and prepared. Alfredo, Manuel, José we're literally the best ever!! They were super intuitive and efficient. I never thought this could go as fast as it has.

We had a fairly complicated move due to our building having a funky layout and being a walk up. Master Movers handled it expertly. We were in awe when they were able to remove certain pieces of furniture without having to remove closet or main doors, which is something that even we were unable to do when installing it in our old place. Nothing arrived damaged at our new place, and this included large live house plants. All of our furniture and boxes were placed into the correct rooms. Their moving quote and rates are 100% worth the price. Should I ever move again, I know who to call!

The Master Movers team handled my move so smoothly and so professionally that their service was actually a bright spot in what is usually a stressful and onerous process. They were super-careful in handling all my belongings. Even when my building elevator broke down, the team proceeded by the stairway without interruption or complaint. All my worry about details and logistics with the new place were put to rest by these obviously experienced men. They even made great suggestions about furniture placement when I was uncertain about it. I can't say how grateful I was to be able to rely on a company like this and I would definitely use them again.

The workers came under-prepared with a staff of 2 (not 3 as required), and a truck that was so small it couldn't fit the contents of a 1 bedroom. They broke very expensive valuables - one through carelessness, dropping a floor lamp chandelier onto marble - the other through poor packing. My empathy goes towards the workers who are underpaid and overworked, using their bodies to carry heavy boxes without even a dolly. I'm disappointed by the poor and unresponsive management. If they take corrective action, I'm happy to revisit this review.

Finding good movers is always so difficult. I've moved 7 times in 10 years. These guys blow everyone out of the water. Too many times have I had movers work slowly to increase their hourly rates, break things, give countless hidden fees. Not these guys. Super fast, careful with fragile items, and straight up with their rate!!! You can't find better. I've seen Francisco work twice (my roommate then myself) He's outstanding. The whole crew is great. Thank you!!

Beware of continued charges after vacating unit. Our family was planning a long move, so I stopped in to let their staff know that we would be leaving the following day. Our items would remain in storage for an additional week to be picked up by a moving company. The employee made a note of when our items would be removed from storage and assured us that we would not be charged beyond that month. We were "not" asked to sign any paperwork to vacate the unit. To our surprise, we continued to receive changes for two additional months. That's when I contacted the company to request a stop payment. They did stop the payments, but informed us that because we did not fill out any exit paperwork, we could not be refunded for the two prior months. Again, "we did" notify them of when we would be leaving and the exact date that the moving company would be removing our items. We were not asked to sign any exit paperwork, which they have stated is a requirement when vacating a unit. They were well aware that the unit had been vacated and that it was empty, but continued to change us.The loss of money is not a huge deal to us. It's more of an ethical issue where the company definitely and purposefully skimmed a little extra money at the expense of their reputation. It was their mistake and the honest thing to do would have been to refund our money.Wish others better luck with this company.

The move itself was great. Cheers to the movers. The management, not so much. They overcharged me vs. the initial quote (claimed the "drive from SF to Oakland" is billed as 1.5 hours - I have an email showing a quote saying it is billed as 1 hour), took a $100 deposit that was not even applied to the final cost, and refused to give me an itemized receipt to explain the charges. I've tried calling them for 2 weeks now and they will just brush you off, say "I'll get it to you later" and do nothing. Update: after a lot of back and forth I finally got this resolved, and they are refunding the extra charges. I'd like to think it's an honest mistake, but the whole ordeal left a sour taste. Again, the move itself was fine, so no complain there. Just be mindful of the final charge.

Conrad and his team were truly exceptional to work with and I cannot recommend them enough. Moving is stressful and they made our FAST moving timeline so much more sane. Conrad the owner met me personally for scheduling within 3 days of contacting them and walked through our home in detail to ensure he could have the right amount of movers (4th floor walkup!) and that they could meet our timeline (which was 3 days after we met!). Hw was very patient walking me through how they would approach the job and the timing it would take given our amount of stuff Their professionalism and responsiveness was exceptional, particularly the day of when the movers called when they were 15 min away (arriving early/very much on schedule). They took utmost care with our things (no scratches etc) and even did complicated tasks like take down a murphy wall bed and take apart a crib that they then rebuilt in the new home (did not fit through the door). They were so efficient they were even faster than their original timeline. During the move in to our new home they also went above and beyond--working with us to ensure each furniture piece was in the right room--including being very patient and moving pieces around to our liking. They had additional movers help out to make the timing more efficient and easier for furniture placement (no additional cost to us). Their experience with moves in the city for over 20 years was clear throughout this process, and there is no substitute for such professionalism, kindness and diligence of each of their team members. Truly exceptional service in every way.

What a dishonest company when it comes to their billing practices. Just stay away. They charged us higher amounts than what was actually IN THE WRITTEN AGREEMENT AND FINAL CHARGES. And then they decide to stop responding to emails or phone calls. On top of that we were charged for lunch breaks, packing materials they never used (they left them behind), and they decided to add an extra truck and crew at the last minute because otherwise "they would be done too late". So the cost estimate was just blown anyway. Don't trust all of the positive reviews. Probably not the worst movers and at least they got the job done and the crew was cool but that's about it.
