Thanks to Pioneer and Dr. VALERIO, who came out for us asap to help our horse In need. Within hours Snowy horse seems better. We've been working with Pioneer for some time now and have been quite pleased with the help Snowy has received

They were wonderful with my donkey, Tonx. She ended up having an inoperable tumor in her sinus and soft palate and we made the very difficult decision to euthanize her. They were kind and compassionate every step of the way and for that I will be forever grateful

We brought our foal here. A 2 day only Friesian named York. He was having a very hard time breathing. They first asked our budget, and we said $1000.00. Crazy to me, that's the first question asked. But due to vets, money hungry past experiences, we said a low number so they would not get rape happy. Anyways after very little time, I was told he would not make it. I was told that no matter what we did or no matter what amount of money he was going to die, and UC Davis or any place was a waste of time. I was very clear and to the point. Will this foal make it no matter what we do, and the answer was a very clear NO! I was told the only humane thing to do here was to euthanize little York! We said no, and due to me not actually being there, they would not release York unless I signed papers. So I had to get some place quick to print, sigh, and scan the papers back that basically they are not responsible. Responsible for what??? York's gonna die! They wanted 1 thing, and that's the money to euthanize and for the disposal of York. Again, I was very clear about York's' chances, and zero chance was the answer. I asked for the last time, so what you're telling me is York is fucked! A very clear Yes was the answer. I have to mention that York is a very expensive foal. I also have to mention extremely loved by all of us and his mother! With no regard to any of that, EUTHANIZE HIM WAS THE ANSWER! THIS IS ONE COLD HARTED PLACE! WITH 1 REGARD TO ANAMALS AND THATS $$$. pic and video is York yesterday, and if he had a middle finger, I know what direction it would be pointed.

They'll save your horse. No if ands or buts about it. Long story short, I ended up with a sickly Mare. We rushed in as soon as possible, ended up being around 10pm arrival. We chose not to admit her, instead to wait for test results at home while continuing antibiotic treatment. We were back 4 days later with the same symptoms x100. Admission was our only option at this point. Poor girl was there 20 something days, but in that time they provided my girl the best care. I'll give them 5 stars just because of the communication they have with the patients, called with updates every single day along with break down in pricing of each day if asked for! They work with you, and your budget. Photos below, then and now. 6 months apart and still getting better!

Dr. McDonald and Dr. Lani saved my 24-year-old mare with a rare colon stricture colic surgery They did an amazing job of explaining what was going on step-by-step and giving me all the information to make the right decision. Dr. Lani called me every day sometimes twice a day to keep me apprised of her progress. In my opinion they are the only place you should ever take your horse. Dr. Hallström and Dr. Penske were also phenomenal the day we brought Nicky in and had her x-rayed. Some people have kids our family is our animals, and Pioneer saved Nicky!

Dr. Hallstrom and her team are incredible. I just recently had pioneer out to get my horse UTD on teeth, vaccines, and deworming. I was beyond nervous because I've never had my horse's teeth done before in the few months I've had her and my horse was previously abused which makes new people and tools a challenge. However, Dr. Hallstrom and her team made the process a breeze. They worked with my horse through every step and made sure she was comfortable and safe. After all the work was done on my horse, Dr. went over all the details and future care I will need which I really appreciate being informed. I'm fortunate to have found such an incredible team to take care of my horse's health needs.

Going to any hospital is never fun. Driving hours through the heat to Oakdale with an injured or sick horse from the East Bay Area is even more not fun. But at least when you get there you can rest assured your horse will get excellent care. And with local Vets attached to the hospital, the follow up will be good.

Dr McDonald explained everything to us about what was going on with our mare. He and the staff were very friendly and didn't rush us. The facility is immaculate.

Excellent surgeons and and follow up care, and a beautiful facility. Vets were very kind and great about calling me back when issues came up after hours. I felt I had to deduct one star because there is a huge disconnect between their posted Covid policy and actual staff behavior. I've come twice for non-emergency care in the past two weeks and both times the vet techs and most office staff were not wearing masks in both the outdoor areas and the office. Both times they also asked me to come inside the office to pay and fill out paperwork, unlike other equine vet hospitals I've been too recently, and contrary to their posted Covid policy. Since my payment information is on file I was surprised they wanted me to come inside, and I was not happy that most front office staff I interacted with were unmasked, and the vet assistants who took our horse from us also were also not wearing masks.

Had an appointment for teeth float. Dr. Williams sent her intern/assistant without letting me know ahead of time. Charged me 384. Six months later, had to have teeth floated again. This Dr. said there were no signs that the teeth had been done, there were tons of long sharp edges, one which had cut into the cheek, and he was completely stunned when I said they were done just six months ago by Pioneer. I have heard they are great for lameness, but I would not use them for dental. Too expensive and not effective.
