Vons, located at 40044 Hwy 49 in Oakhurst, CA, is a popular grocery store known for its friendly staff and a wide range of products. Customers appreciate the helpfulness of employees like Christine and Elia, who go above and beyond to assist shoppers, even during busy times. The store offers various services, including grocery delivery and their DriveUp & Go™ program, making shopping convenient for everyone.
The bakery features a selection of cakes, cupcakes, and more, while the deli provides party trays and ready-to-order options. The produce section is noted for its freshness, although some items, such as specific ground turkey varieties, have been out of stock for a while. Prices can be on the higher side, but online coupons and discounts help offset costs.
Vons also has a pharmacy with over-the-counter medicines, comparable to CVS. The store is a convenient stop for visitors heading into Yosemite National Park, offering essential items, including prepared sushi and bakery goods. However, some customers have noted that the men's restroom requires cleaning. Overall, Vons strives to meet the needs of its community, despite occasional challenges with stock and customer behavior.
As a UK tourist I hadn’t heard of Vons, they are a sister company of Safeway which once upon a time existed in the UK too. Anyway, great store - prices have members pricing which as a tourist you cannot sign up for but the lady at the checkout was very helpful and managed to apply Member pricing.
