About Alameda County Social Services
Alameda County Social Services is a busy office where people from all walks of life go for help. The environment can be hectic, similar to the DMV, with a check-in and number system. It is often crowded, though going late in the month and mid-week may mean fewer people. The staff and county representatives are generally professional, courteous, kind, and patient, doing their best to help everyone accomplish their goals. Some visits for paperwork or documents can be quick and straightforward, sometimes under an hour, and there is a secure drop box available. However, to avoid potential drama or long lines, it is sometimes better to handle things online when possible.

Waited for days after being told to come back only to find out after 2 days that my benefits had expired and I needed to reapply which I could do online where it is supposed to be a faster process. Place is more efficient then some other offices but definitely can use some help to operate fairly and efficiently.
