Alamo Oakland Airport the worst customer service ever. On Tuesday August 26, 2025 we arrived to the rental place from Honolulu around 7:00pm the front dest lady young popolo girl 😒 bad service her attitude sucks and her Asian Manager didn't even try to help. NO. Long story short we ended up got uber to our hotel.. If yall come to Honolulu we serve with Aloha friendly customers service. The best 👌 customer service ever. You Oakland Airport Alamo employees that night and the manager need to work on your customer service and please🙏 don't be stuck up like you owned the place 🙄🙄🙄🙄 Ongo ngeli mata'i mohe'uli namu zeku!!

These two of your finest harassed me refused to give me a vehicle they claimed I had a temporary US driver's license. Anyone with a little experience knows Canadians or others on non resident visas do not get more than 2 years validity. Was quite humiliated with the discrimination, arrogance after paying in advance for an NCNR booking and tried to find the police, unsuccessful after they denied me a car for more than 15 minutes of stalling tactics until I lost my cool.
Went across to Fox Rent a car and picked up a vehicle for almost double the cost but the guy was polite and courteous.
Shame on you Alamo for the folks you employ. I have uploaded their pictures, beware of these 2 on a power trip. Alamo, these folks you hire signify who and what you stand for now.

Overall great experience renting a car. The staff was friendly. Car was clean. I did all the pre check in so I could go straight to the car. My only complaint is that the Alamo cars are under a “National” canopy. I got outside and the small booth was empty and I walked around awhile trying to figure out which lot to go to but a guy helped explain the National/Alamo cars are together. Wasn’t a huge deal. I think it took 10 mins from the time I was dropped off to the time I drove out of the lot. First time using Alamo. I will definitely rent from Alamo again.

No joke, just rented from Alamo again in Bellingham WA to take my boy to college in CO, and they gave me a free upgrade to get all my boys stuff in the car! Seriously, Alamo for the WIN!
(This was after rending in Oakland, CA) Always only rent from Alamo. Still waiting for my endorsement. Seriously though, they have always treated me great and even given me extras from time to time.

I rented a Ford Expedition Max from Alamo in Ontario, California in late May 2025. After about a day or two, the air conditioner stopped working completely. I called Alamo, and they told me to return it to the nearest location, which is where I was given a GMC Denali as a replacement.
As soon as I started driving the Denali, I noticed the steering wheel was off-center — likely an alignment issue — but the air conditioner worked, so we continued with our trip.
Three months later, I was blindsided by a claim Alamo filed against my insurance company, accusing me of causing undercarriage damage. We were never in any kind of accident. There were no incidents — nothing. And Alamo never contacted me directly. They just filed the claim with no warning, no investigation, and absolutely no proof. No photos, no report, nothing.
It feels like a game of hot potato — the vehicle was likely already damaged, but instead of doing their due diligence, they simply blame whoever had the keys last. No questions asked, just pass the problem along.
I’m going to fight this with everything I’ve got. It is not in my character to damage anything and not take responsibility. If I had caused damage, I would own it — but I didn’t. And I refuse to be made the scapegoat for their lack of accountability and poor vehicle inspection process.
This is unethical, careless, and completely unacceptable. Renters beware.
Thank you for responding, but this is clearly a generic, copy-and-paste message. I’ve already detailed my situation here, and I’m not looking to start the process over through a link — I’m looking for accountability for a baseless claim filed against me without proof. If Alamo truly wants to address this, I’m happy to speak directly with someone who has access to the claim file, the vehicle’s inspection history, and any actual evidence. Please don’t redirect me to a generic portal — I’ve been blindsided enough.

Rented a mini van from Oakland Airport and the process was the easiest I’ve had from a rental company. The customer service was excellent at check in and the drop off process was very convenient!!!!

Reserved a car a day earlier, show up at the counter they say they don’t have cars (it’s 12:30pm) they say there will be cars at 5pm. Here’s the thing, if it was explained when I reserved the car that I was not guaranteed a car I would’ve made a reservation somewhere else, because now there are no cars anywhere for no reservation. OR OR OR if that’s too much trouble, maybe say hey if you want to be guaranteed a car when you arrive you need to prepay. I would’ve gladly paid in advance to know I had a car when I arrived. Now I’m ubering an hour+ away for more (one way) than the rental would’ve cost. I’ve never heard of an airport car rental running out of cars, again if you had no cars to reserve then don’t let people reserve them and think they have a car waiting for them. Allow them time to make other arrangements rather than sorting it out on the spot. I’m talking to the wind but whatever I’m pissed.

Customer service by the agents was great. The car was clean & well kept. The price for the car was affordable. I will definitely us Alamo again when I return to Oakland.
