Big Shout Out to this Establishmennt!!!!I only had cash and not enough money on my Debit Card. The owner gave me the Pulled Pork Adobo Sandwich and said to pay him next time. I can't wait to go back and show him my appreciation......AND the Sandwich was AMAZING!THANK YOU CAFE GABRIELA✨️??❤️

Just a great place to grab lunch. Great food, friendly ownership, and one more time.... great food.One of the last places downtown where you can still grab a well made, tasty, sandwich for less than $10.My go to is the soppressata sandwich with side capresse salad. Ends up being a very filling lunch, for less than $15.If you are looking for a sandwich for lunch downtown, I couldn't recommend this café more.

Delicious and super affordable. Got the fried egg sandwich (a perfectly runny egg) with an add-on salad and it all cost me $13. Great option for a filling lunch in DT.

they offered to make a vegan sandwich! it was absolutely bomb. perfectly toasted bread, arugula, cranberries, onions, almonds, balsamic, i forget what else.. but it was GOOD. super friendly and quick service. of course, i love the story behind the place and what they stand for, too.my only qualm is that they still have a covid-style walk up window, which i wouldn't mind if it were for health concerns, but they asked if i wanted to sit inside, so i don't get the point... it seems unnecessarily inconvenient & it also meant i couldn't go in & put my own milk & sugar in my coffee (it was still tasty, but i would have preferred more milk, my tummy gets upset by coffee easily lol)

Catering Review: if you're looking for a caterer, you don't need to look anywhere else because Penny and the Cafe Gabriela team will hook you up with whatever you need, and it will be amazing! The catering menu doesn't include any vegan or gluten-free items, but don't let that stop you because they can go off menu and make what you need. We ordered 120 box lunches and included each of the four sandwiches on the menu. For the vegan attendees, Penny made a vegan sandwich that I (controversial yet brave) might've enjoyed more than the pulled pork adobo sandwich! It was a tomato and arugula sandwich that was sweet (from the dried cranberries and balsamic vinegar) and crunchy (from the almond slivers) and really satisfying!Working with the cafe on the order was really easy because they were responsive to emails and very flexible with ordering options. Delivery was on time, and everyone loved the boxed lunches! We can't thank Penny and their team enough for providing such an incredible feast for our event and we will absolutely work with them again the next chance we get!

It's a shame a cafe opens at 10 am. It would be great if they were opened at 7 am. Myself with a lot of co workers constantly stay at nearby hotels and would love to have breakfast there.

One of my all time favorite breakfast and lunch places in Oakland. Spectacular food — I highly recommend the pulled pork adobo sandwich, or the egg sandwich — and great coffee from kind people. A real fixture of Oakland’s culinary community and well worth a visit. Or two. Or three. :)

My son took me out for coffee and he said he would take me to a great coffee place so we ended up with Cafe Gabriela. The coffee was indeed rich and you can taste the berries. We also grabbed 2 adobo sandwiches and the the service was top notch. Benny was very gracious and even came out to our car to thank my son for taking me to his coffee shop. Thank you Benny. We will be back

Hi honestly this was amazing. Pulled pork sandwich: little dry, thought it was going to be covered in Sweet BBQ Sauce, but I like this plain option. Also do a hot bbq version for people who like spice. I also had the iced chai latte, wish it was sweetened with sweetener. A little watery for me. I also had a vanilla and a chocolate alfajores. Caramel surprise with one of them. The value of everything I overall love. Will definitely be coming back.

Cafe Gabriela is delicious! Today was my first time stopping by despite having heard great things about their food many times before. I ordered their fried egg sandwich with baguette and their mocha w/ one expresso shot and it was the perfect combo! I am usually picky about my coffee and I was worried it would be too sweet or too bitter, but y'all my first sip was heavenly! Chef's kiss! Also, their service was quick and very friendly! I will definitely be treating myself here again and recommending it to friends.
