I went in two days in a row and after waiting 15-20 minutes nobody knew I was there. Or they completely ignored a new customer? Everyone was busy talking amongst themselves. That’s too bad because I was going to make a big deposit in a new account but I guess you guys already have enough customers. Management, please train your staff some customer service! Is it too much to ask??

Majority of the time I go to the ATM that's outside the building.... for a while now I go and the machine is not available for use. I think it could be cool if there was a notice like on here or to let us know if the atm is down or when it's up again from being down. It can be an inconvenience when you go there for the ATM and it not working so now you gotta utilize the time to locate another branch to handle your business... just a thought. 😉

After calling around we discovered there are apparently only 2 branches in Oakland with onsite notaries and only one that responded promptly and professionally - Oakland's Chinatown office!
The new office is beautifully designed and the folks there are efficient and friendly. Keith T., a personal banker there, took care of our document needs in no time. He even shipped them to Citi's operations office overnight and provided us with tracking details.
His attention to detail was much appreciated after our disappointing interactions with other Citi offices. He even took the time to thoroughly read our documents to makes sure everything was in order.
Outstanding service and much thanks to Keith T. and the Oakland Chinatown branch!

the new location on webster street is great. Love the staff there, always very helpful and knowledgeable of Citi's products and services. One of the better banks in and around Oakland Chinatown and Downtown area.

Very slow, like an adjusted robot. What’s really bother is everyone over there is senseless like standing on line for 30 min to withdraw few hundreds is nothing. Senselessness.. they do understand customer services completely wrong! I really regret dealing with this branch this will never happen again

We have been a customer for over 30 years. We see so many changes in Citibank, unfortunately most of the changes are going for the worst. You can't talk to customer service anymore just for holidays hours. I have also invested in the stock that reversed split 10 to 1 and have never recovered like orher banks. I think it's time to move to a greener pasture. There's nothing to look forward to here.

I only come here for the ATM. Otherwise, brace yourself for rude service if you don't speak Chinese. Also, another customer shoved me out of the way to get thru the door. No parking lot. It's right in the heart of Oakland Chinatown.

This is going to be a touching review. Long story short, I'm trans male, transitioned in my 30s, moved to SoCal to do so and decided to come back home a few weeks ago to the more accepting and less polluted Bay. I'd closed my Citibank account four years ago due to both lack of locations in SoCal, and my ex-wife having my account information and seeing debits from her two months after I left her and the area, which is no fault of Citibank's (the location problem out there is, though) Anyway, Bank of the West is very convenient out there, but INTENSELY inconvenient out here. Staff had always been nice to me at this location, to the point they entertained my attempts to acquire Cantonese as my fifth language. I'm mixed and 'vaguely ethnic" looking, to steal phrasing from The Colbert Report, and with that as well, and my Japanese name, as there aren't many people with Japanese full names in Oakland (just last names, and thank internment for everything related to lack of Japanese-speaking community in Oakland) I was memorable. I knew they'd remember me, even if I don't look anything like I did before. And honestly, I was a bit unsure of how it would go. Traditionally, China had more than two genders, but in the mainland, Mao was very homophobic, and Hong Kong was ruled by Britain, the colonies being the inventors of queerphobia. So it can vary, just like with, say, white Americans. My legal name is yet unchanged, and I don't want to pretend to be a stranger if I can help it anyway. When I told the head of the bank who I was, he said "wow! You look different!" WITH A SMILE. I said that I feel better now. He was glad to have me back, and decided to chat with me while I waited for the person who would help me open an account. We talked about Chinatowns throughout CA and other small-talk things. The woman who opened my account was respectful of my new name, and everyone was just so accepting. I mean, it's as it should be, but it's just not often that way for people subject to so much oppression and alienation. I definitely made the right decision, and am glad to be back with Citibank Chinatown. P.S., the security guard was surprised when I told him the phone store next door used to be a treasure trove of a video store. Still sad about that.

The workers are nice and helpful. The lines are usually long. There's a million flies guarding the walkway and it usually smells like piss right there too.

Positives: the personal banker was very helpful. No wait on Saturday afternoon so that is a huge plus. The personal banker could speak both Cantonese and English too. Negatives: parking isn't good in Oakland Chinatown.

Horrible customer service. The branch manager and service manager have no respect for customers, it seems they only cater to asian clients. Their actions made me dislike Citibank as bank, very very rude everytime I asked a question the would erupt with a NO! answer before I finished the sentence. I could sense the discrimination at HIGH Levels!!!!!!!!!!
