Oh yea, THAT'S why I cancelled my Citi Bank account a couple years ago. I can't believe I'm saying this but, just go to Wells Fargo a block away. Night and day better. Or US Bank if they are convenient to you. Today I went to the Citi ATM because it was a block closer than Wells Fargo. The ATM says "dispenses 10s, 20s, and 100s". Great, I need 100s to buy a large item. When I get to dispense time, it offers me choice of 10s or 20s only, no 100s. I think no big deal, the branch is open, the line is short, I'll just have the teller exchange since the ATM is out of 100s. I choose 20s and the ATM gives me 20s (with a couple 10s thrown in too, oddly). I wait in line less than 10 minutes and explain the situation to the teller. They are surprised "No 100s? We just filled it yesterday." I confirm, no 100s. She says "Oh are you using a Citi account card" and I say "Nope" and she tells me "Oh the machine will only give 100s if you use a Citi card". I say "Oh that's annoying since it doesn't explain that, and other banks like Wells Fargo and US Bank don't have this restriction.. can you exchange my 20s for 100s then?" "No, we only do that for customers". Ahhh. You know guess what? I was a customer until I experienced what it was like to be a customer. Want $20 in quarters for laundry? Where's your ATM card? Oh you left it at home? We can only identify you by ATM card. Don't want to go home and get it? Well... we have a process that requires a supervisor and could take some time... Or you know, just go a block away to Wells Fargo where I am NOT an account holder and get my quarters instantly. Because Wells Fargo is a bank. A bank that is good at doing bank things. And does the right thing for people because they know how business works. And empowers their tellers to do basic things without forcing cumbersome processes. Good luck to people stuck with Citi for some reason or another! I will not be back.

Be prepared to wait...and wait...and wait...and wait...I'm not sure why their staffing is so abysmal, but visiting this branch is always an excruciating experience. Clearly there is no value placed on one's time, and I am always reminded why I dislike Citibank so much when I have to come here.

The Citibank branch in Piedmont Avenue, Oakland is failing its customers by:Getting rid of the security guard in parking lot.Not having security cameras at the bank’s entry doors nor by the parking lot exits. Not warning customers about the high probability of being assaulted as they exit the branch, either on foot or driving. Not giving any support to customers who have been chased by assailants using security videos. No facilitating access to security area videos that would help to identify assailants lurking outside the bank.

Terrible customer service, I called there branch in the morning and couldn't get ahold of anyone so I called the branch while I was there and I saw the 2 tellers not doing a single thing with no customers, and then I seen them forward my call to the call center. Very very unprofessional I didn't want to talk to a call center I wanted to talk to that branch. Tellers are also very very rude and don't care about customers at all. Whoever runs this bank just doesn't care!!!!

Good location, but 50% of the time I try to use the ATM, cash not available or machine not working. Opposite of convenience.

I lost a cashiers check that was vital for me to recover! This is a cool bank for a cool neighborhood! Rosa the manager helped me with special circumstances and her staff at times went above and beyond to investigate for me! Bless up Archie Lee

Charged me $10 for a cashier's check without telling me. Only saw the fee on the receipt *after* the transaction was processed and I'm glad I caught it because it put me $10 under a minimum balance requirement to avoid yet another fee. There is a small parking lot available.

Christina was so helpful today. I was feeling hopeless going into my appointment, but I left feeling SO much better. She was so kind and helpful and got my request taken care of extremely quickly. It actually felt like she really cared about me and my situation. Thank you, Christina!
