About Coast Guard Island Alameda
Coast Guard Island Alameda is a military base where many attended boot camp in the 1970s, starting a long journey from there. It is described as the last great military base in the Bay Area. It features a modest exchange and gas station with a barber, a large gym, and an indoor pool. For those with base access, it offers a free gym and pool membership, inexpensive haircuts, and tax-free gasoline. There is also an ID card center aboard. The medical clinic only serves active duty personnel. It is a highly secured area for military people only.
