This is just the worst bank I've ever dealt with, which is why I'm officially closing my account. Even since Tatiana left, the service has gone completely downhill. Comerica has pretty shady fee practices as a whole. Late last year when I got an overdraft fee I looked at my account and noticed that my transactions posted in a very different order, highest to lowest. After I got that fee I began to track all my deposits and transactions. I started taking screenshots of everything. Earlier this year money went from my Square account to my business checking and I saw that the deposit was coming through. The following day I had a very small pending transaction $1.99. I took screenshots just in case. On the third day, my deposit disappeared and the $1.99 was still pending. When I checked on the fourth day, the $1.99 went through, then my deposit. Because I was .4 in overdraft (Four cents), they charged me $38 overdraft fee. I went into the Alameda branch and complained, the representative lied to my face and said the deposit came in after. I showed him all the screenshots, he stuttered, and then refunded the fee. This has happened to me a couple times, only at Comerica. After it happened again yesterday, I decided to close my account and move to my business account to my credit union. Today I called and the branch representative told me to call the 800 number to close my account. When I called the 800 number the representative told me I had to go into the branch. I told him that the branch representative told me to call the 800 number. He put me in hold, called the branch, and then came back to me stating that the person at the branch said they told me to come inside. I couldn't believe the lies they were telling. I explained to him that was a lie, which was one of the many reasons I was closing my account. So, first thing Monday I'll be closing my account, completely dissatisfied. I'm happy that I have a positive relationship with my credit union and will be opening my business account there where they have honest banking practices.

Comerica Bank is just a great bank with excellent very personable service. I used to bank at the San Jose Branch and that was excellent. I find the Oakland branch also Excellent. Two cheers for the Oakland Branch !!! Very personable and an excellent branch manager.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I have had a business account with this bank since 2012. They are so archaic that you must go into the branch to complete simple transfers that could be completed online. They are inconsistent with random "service charges or fees", and Belinda is the most rude teller I have ever worked with. She is rude in person and also on the phone. It's not your bank, lady; learn to treat humans with respect~

A no haggle bank! They get it done. Thanks to the manager for moving seamlessly to fix a couple issues on my business account.

Four Stars because parking suuuucks! Otherwise Dean and Liz are amazing to deal with. The ladies know their banking stuff and it's so nice working with people who are so patient, and pleasant to speak with. I look forward to a lasting relationship with Comerica Bank. Their business accounts and services are awesome too. I highly recommend them.

I am extremely pleased with Comerica Bank, and I must say that business banker Adrian Zavala at the downtown Oakland branch is quite a gem. He has made transitioning from one of the Evil Empire banks very easy and straightforward. And can I just say, there is never a line? Very convenient. At Comerica, all the tellers will always remember you when you go in to make a deposit. I know the tellers' names, and they know mine. I feel like I am truly valued, much unlike Bank of America. Such familiarity should be de rigueur in any service-based business, but sadly it's not. So I feel like we have an obligation to tell each other about it, so that we can encourage good behavior amongst the business community. You should just not settle for bad service at big banks. My experience at Comerica is completely different from my past experience at Bank of America. Every time I visited Bank of America in need of actual service (beyond just a simple deposit), there was a new business banker. It was entirely impossible to make an actual relationship with anyone. That bank clearly has no interest in making such relationships. If you have a business, you must avoid a place like that. Comerica bankers are clearly there for the long haul -- they value close relationships, which is what I feel I have with them. You've got to try a real relationship-based bank, especially if you have a business. And try their credit card processing too -- its costs were lower than the Evil Empire banks, yet their service is still exemplary. David Zavaar is their main man in this area, and his middle name is Client Service. The point is this: At anyplace else, you are merely a customer. At Comerica, you are a CLIENT.

I drive all sround the Bay Area and I've been to the Comerica here, in Alameda and in Walnut Creek. Each location has ridiculous customer service. They always rememebr me and are SO friendly. I changed banks becasue of Alex Nguyen the manager here and Adrian Gomez. If you have banking needs ask for those guys for sure. I trust them with my bank needs and I have referred many clients to them as well.

I think Comerica is fine. As far as banking goes, it is fine. But what makes Comerica in Oakland an EXCEPTIONAL banking experience is Adrian Gomez. He is amazing. He was so helpful and supportive when we transitioned from WF to Comerica, and it always felt as if he had my best interests in mind.

I use Comerica for my small business and they are great. It's nice that they remember me and are quite welcoming but the real kicker is that the manager will often get my checks to clear overnight - and sometimes they are large amounts. Not like other banks who are all about strict policy and yes we'll keep your money frozen for a long time. It's people dealing with people, nto some harsh corporate deal

I had an urgent need today to get change for a large denomination bill. Yeah I get that we shouldn't have gone and thought that we could eat lunch downtown and expect a small business to make change. I ran around the corner to find a bank to make change for me and I walked into Comerica - walked up to the double walled bullet proof glass window (it is Oakland ya know) and said - I really need your help we need smaller bills to pay for our lunch could you help me out and make change? I was told "we only provide change for customers" SERIOUSLY??? you are a bank... you can't give me change when I am in a predicament? I work for a bank - personally - I would make change for someone if they came in and asked nicely. And NO...I am not a customer nor will I ever BE a customer of Comerica. Sad. I have friends who work for Comerica and I think it is a good bank overall - sorry to say this location is a 2 star.
