I have been with Extra Storage at 300 Market St. for over a year now. I have found the employees to be extremely friendly and helpful. The facility has always been very clean and lit. So far the patrons I have encountered in the building and on the elevator have been very polite and cooperative in working together to use the common areas and services. I greatly appreciate the staff and services I have received during this pass year.

Michele is super awesome and hospitable. Met us with a warm and caring demeanor. Heard all of concerns about the space. Gave us detailed information about the traffic flow of renters through the week and weekend. Thank you again!

I had the most amazing experience! From setting up an account, being personally showed where my storage space is at, to where I can park my vehicle. The associates are professional but also make you feel at home. The girls there ROCK! One of the BEST LOCATIONS!

Extremely unprofessional and disturbing experience at Extra Space Storage – 300 Market St, Oakland.
I rented two units here (both with 24-hour access, which I paid extra for) because I’m a full-time, live-in caregiver and can only access storage during off-hours. Despite this, I was confronted around midnight by a woman who never identified herself as staff. She yelled at me, accused me of stealing, blocked my exit, screamed profanities, and insisted I was lying about having two units.
I had keys, proof of payment, and was simply moving my own items between the two paid units. After paying extra for the “best package” I learned that 24-hour access is only honored if you have a business license—which I do have and had already planned to bring in. None of this was communicated upfront.
The treatment I received was completely unacceptable, and I've filed a formal complaint with corporate. I would not recommend this location to anyone—especially if you value safety, communication, or being treated like a paying customer.
