Habitat for Humanity the non-profit organization is A+. Habitat for Humanity the store (at least this one) is not so great. It's maybe worth a walk through if you are getting a toilet or something from the Reuse people next door. If next door is the 'I am trying to remodel on the cheap' store, this is the 'I really wish I could redecorate on the cheap but it's not gonna happen here' store. You want a stained and disgusting rug for $100? No? Neither does anyone else. Very perplexing. Also the staff here are generally kinda meh. Here is an example: me: So yay you are having a sale on paint! them: yes. just today. and you can only buy the one gallon size. me: can I just get the giant size and pay you the difference (it was like 15 dollars or something) so I wont have to make multiple trips up the stairs with paint? My janked up knee will thank you. them: no. m: okay. But 3 stars because I did get paint at a pretty good price (which I am slowly moving upstairs one gallon at a time...lol) and I didn't have to deal with Lowe's which is always a bonus. Bring hand sanitizer because you will want to disinfect a little if you touch the gross rugs.

The store was organized, however the prices were so expensive! Even the scrap wood was just as much as new wood from Home Depot. Left empty handed and wont be back anytime soon.

They've really cleaned up their act! I was blown away at how tidy and organized everything was. And the pricing was actually pretty fantastic now! I walked out with some very cute pieces of furniture and got them for a bargain. Will definitely be back!

Prices for items I was looking for are surprisingly high. I was looking for shelving units the ones I located were priced over my budget by quite a lot.

I have only been to the Fairfield location. This one here is huge!!! I felt like a lot of times were overpriced, and you can find similar on Facebook marketplace or at yard sales for less money. They did have brand new couches in boxes that were well priced for the quality. Good for young ones moving put on their own for thr first time.

Products: 3/5 Although I did not find anything to actually purchase from here there is a much larger selection that the Concord location. Especially for larger items (doors, vanities, tiles etc). I felt it was in need of some help/upkeep. A lot of products were covered in dirt or dust. I leaned over a cloth couch to look at a mirror and ended up getting "bites" or a "rash",all over the area of contact, not sure what type of insect in particular. I had to deep clean everything when I got home and I had even worn gloves when I was at the restore. Some items have prices and others do not, it took some time to get a hold of an employee who worked there each time to ask the price and it was not set/negotiable. Some items like the mattress toppers being sold seemed priced a bit high, almost exactly the same price as they would be if you purchased them from the company yourself directly. Interestingly, all the mannequins there were pregnant. For tiles and doors, this location's variety was superior than the Concord location I have been to. There are some nice furniture pieces, but I would be wary of purchasing anything other than leather or faux leather, and only after considerable cleaning/sanitizing. Service: 4/5 Everyone I spoke to, I asked for help, was friendly and responsive. The location overall however, seemed understaffed.

I LOVE Restore Oakland, but plan to give yourself time (like a Disneyland visit) to explore it. Discovery of that perfect item is patiently awaiting you wading through things that don't interest you until you get to the items you love. While my husband shopped for appliances, renovation hardware and lumber, I meandered through the large, packed showroom. A set of dishes caught my eye because they matched a bowl my mother had when I was a child. With the staff's aid, I examined it up close and verified it was the pattern of bone china that I remembered. (BTW, anyone concerned about lead leeching from china dishes should know that BONE CHINE does not use lead, even if the dishes are very old. In fact, it's the highest level of china possible and does not break as often when dropped as stoneware will do.) When it came time to pick it up, the staff let me bring my boxes (a combo of Trader Joe's and Amazon) with a laundry hamper full of packing materials --linens, washcloths, sox, and other stuff saved from other deliveries to individually wrap and line the boxes to protect the dishes, in the area so transporting them was easy. They were accommodating and helpful.

They have raised their prices *significantly* since pandemic. At first I thought it was just a weird Covid-anomaly but every time I've been there since then I've noticed their prices are twice what they used to be. Also, I had an issue where I cut myself in the store and the manager couldn't have been ruder about it.

I called and asked if they accept donations. The response was that they are very choosy about which items they accept. I only have collector items so I didn't think they would refuse my items. They accepted the ones I brought. I'll leave a pic of one of the African Masks I gave them.

The people that work here are rude. Everything is priced more than you'd expect and I'm speaking of items not "in excellent condition". They will not budge on any of their prices, and quite honestly they treat you like a second class citizen. The manager, Nick, is the worse. His right hand gal is not much better. I wont shop there anymore. Now, having said that there is a front and back to the store. The people who work the back of the store (where all the sofas and chairs and furniture are, are super nice and helpful. Every time I have gone in Leslie is always so pleasant and eager to help, like pulling down furniture so you can see it better, and is much more knowledgeable about the worth of their items.I will continue to shop there. I give that crew and their customer service a 4 STARS!! (as opposed to 2)As a final note, there are (2) buildings to this business. The second building has "ST VINCENT De PAUL Building Materials" painted in front of it, and they sell mostly repurposed items... lighting, doors, cabinets, appliances etc. and they are AWESOME!! Helpful, funny, knowledgeable and super helpful!! I give them 5 STARS!!! All is all this is a great place to shop if you are remodeling your home, but honestly, RUN, do not walk, past the first half of the Habitat for Humanity store and go straight to the back, you'll save yourself from interaction with some very rude people!!I would get into details as to why, but I'm afraid they may start jacking up the price if I do purchase something.Yep, I said it. Be greatful y'all! Appreciate your customers. If it wasn't for us, you wouldn't have a job.

This place is huge. So much good stuff. Tiles, flooring, outdoor furniture, Article couches (seconds from factory?), nice bathtubs, tables, chairs, dressers, artwork....on and on, no reason to buy new. They've got some great unique finds like huge wood doorways and huge outdoor gazebo for those with the means to take this stuff home. A lot of fun to shop here.

I was just snooping around the store and discovered a treasure chest. I got a gazebo, patio furniture and fireplace. Then I went back for the umbrella. Now, I'm waiting for my first cookout this weekend. I love this store and the staff are amazing.

Great prices on a variety of items: not just building materials but paint, cleaning materials, furniture (both donated and and new), even new Egyptian cotton sheets,

Hit or miss (not surprising since they rely on donations) BUT I have found a couple great items here. Bought a dehumidifier last year when they had over a dozen brand new in box, it was only like $40 and new they were over $100. Has worked really well. Got a ceiling light for a decent price. Went in March 2023 and got a brand new gazebo for $450 when the same one sold at Lowes for $980 or so. One of the employees also helped me load it in the truck because it was very heavy. Paint prices aren't that great compared to big box stores. Got some cool Kalt brand tool belt stuff and they have safety glasses for $3.

I absolutely Love this place! They have a great selection of affordable, quality products! Even if you're not sure what you need/want, go browse around and become inspired!
