I have short curly hair, so I was glad to see in reviews that he is comfortable with a dry cut. He asked me what I was looking for and executed well - he checked with me throughout the cut to make sure he was meeting expectations. Very quick and affordable (although his prices are listed by gender, he regards the length only, so I was charged for a men's cut) - I'll definitely be back again.

I was blown away by the quality of services and professionalism offered by Lakeside Hair Salon! Washington is a wonderful human being and took me for an impromptu haircut even when I didn't realize appointments were needed (while on vacation). Highly recommended for any haircut you need while in Oakland.

I was trying to find a reasonably priced place to get my split ends trimmed. I decided to go with Lakeside Hair Salon, and I was not disappointed. Washington is extremely personable. Warm and welcoming. He listened to me and did exactly what I needed. Shampoo and a split end trim. $40 plus tip. I trust him and will be back!

An amazing cut for $40– Washington took me day-of and made me feel comfortable and asked me if I liked my cut when he was finished and I told him I wanted to blend it more so he did!I have long fine hair and he gave me a little bit of layers and took about 3-4 inches off. He was thorough about asking exactly what I wanted and did not push me to get more done than I wanted and took his time to give me a good cut instead of rushing. His shop is very clean and quiet and it made for a great experience.

My go-to hair: long, straightened, middle part, no dye.
Since I’m trying to grow my hair longer, all I needed was a trim, nothing too crazy.
Washington took me in same day, did a symmetrical even dry cut (only removed about an inch), added light layers to remove more split ends at the bottom.
Nice conversation. Good price.
$35 + tip
I would definitely go again for a trim.

Washington is the best! I have straight hair and just need it trimmed regularly. Nothing fancy. I was tired of spending close to $100 for a haircut at fancy salons and had a bad experience at Supercuts.... Washington came recommended by a friend and it was everything I hoped for. He does a dry cut. So don't expect a wash and don't expect styling after. But if you want a solid cut and good conversation then see Washington. He'll hook you up!
