One of my favorite stores with every little trinket you can imagine! Great spot to find gifts for friends/family, or even for yourself. I love walking in here to just stroll around on my lunch break, even I don't intend to purchase. Love this shop!!!

Think of this as a Hallmark store but if you updated it for millennials. They have a nice selection of cute cards (think Rifle), and a variety of other gift items (prints, journals, soap, enamel pins, candles, etc.). A great local business, and my go to for cards!

This is a darling little shop in downtown Oakland. They have the coolest goods and gifts. It's a fun place to look around and I don't doubt you will find yourself purchasing one or two items after you peruse. I love their card section and they have a lot of nice California/Oakland pieces to provide that local vibe. They staff was also really nice.

Get all my cards and little gifts here— I always know I'll find interesting and well made things that will bring a bit of joy. I also don't mind the West Pedro hat I got for myself ;)

Nice store with lots of cute little things -- perfect gifts for those who want items one can use. Very clean style and good workmanship put into the items sold.

Such a beautiful shop, staffed by very friendly people. This place is my go-to for gifts, and I love stopping by while running errands because there's always something I want for myself too - art, ceramics, accessories, and delicious-smelling candles. There's always something new. And the neighborhood it's in is super cute too! Definitely worth a stop in.

What a treasure! Perfect little shop for gift shopping... many items made in Oakland (that awesome chocolate!) and all made by women... so handcrafted, unique and so enjoyable!

I rarely leave reviews but I had a horrible experience. This store is full of artful pieces and knick-knacks. It's just a shame that such a pleasant store is managed by a discourteous person. Unfortunately, the store clerk, Alina, wasn't kind enough to use her manners. From the moment I walked in, Alina's glare made me feel very uncomfortable. It struck me as odd, especially because there were so many friendly farmers' market vendors just outside the shop. Alina glowered at me as I perused the store, checking out coasters and smelling candles. Once I settled on a potted plant, I asked how to care for it. Instead of an informative response, she replied flatly, "It's a succulent." Her tone was unnecessarily irritable. The only reason I had asked was because most shopkeepers are familiar with how to care for the plants they're selling (e.g., north-facing and plenty of sunlight, south-facing and give it very little water). I almost wanted to walk out of the store because of how uncomfortable I felt. At the same time, I wasn't going to let someone bully me out of buying something I was truly interested in. I decided to buy the plant because I liked it. My experience, however, was absolutely unenjoyable. Alina is not fit for customer service. Alina managed to make things awkward til the very end. While I was rung up for my plant, I requested a bag. She responded, "One thing at a time." Everyone has bad days but it's very unprofessional and inconsiderate to project that onto a patron. Please have respect for patrons. I will not visit this store anymore.

Marion and Rose is a little gift shop I stumbled upon while looking for a greeting card for a colleague. So I strolled on down to 9th Street to take a quick perusal and was immediately greeted by a friendly woman at the checkout counter, who asked if I needed any help and pointed me in the direction of the wedding gift cards (or rather, generic "Congratulations!" cards that work just as perfectly). I didn't have much trouble finding an adorable card that conveyed well wishes for our dear coworker. There were plenty of cute trinkets to pick through: stuff repping the Town, stuff that smelled good, stuff that had other stuff stuffed in it. It was all I could do not to take a look since I was technically on an office errand, but I'll be back to inspect some candles and other prized thotchkes. A good place to go if you're looking for a Cost Plus vibe that's a bit more expensive. The greeting card was $5, but it was a small price to pay for a valued member of the team. They also had printed gift bags and an assortment of other gift-y products. I'll be back soon!

Expensive, but adorable gifts, stationery, artwork and cute things for the house. Very helpful, thoughtful ladies working there.

tasteful goods with classic, modern, and 50s styles -Somehow, I knew I wouldn't leave empty-handed here, from the first quick scan upon stepping in. -The layout and thoughtful arrangement of goods draws in the eye. The quality of the goods makes one want to pick them up for closer examination. Ask the owner about the wares and she'll be happy to share her insights with you. -some standouts: hammered metal rough-hewn jewelry with semi-precious stones, hammy greeting cards, arty wall hangings -The owner very meticulously wrapped my wall hanging so I could take it my carry-on travel bag. How nice!

My go-to neighborhood spot for a beautiful, curated, and rotating selection of indie gifts. Small Faribault Mills wool buffalo-check toiletry bag. Crocheted hanging air plant holder. Spot-on greeting cards. Never fails me. Love Marion and Rose's.

This place was absolutely adorable. When traveling I really try and visit locally owned shops just because I feel like it gives you a bit of a glimpse into the community. There were plenty of unique finds here and I did end up with a few small items for Christmas gifts and I got something for myself as well. The shop is small but I think they do a great job of using the space there and it doesn't seem cluttered at all. I'd say if you're looking for a nice gift for someone who has everything or something for the house check this place out.
